- This is a German TV report on the Beatles visit to Hamburg on June 26, 1966. I have provided subtitles in English. The two concerts that day turned out to be the group's final appearance in Europe.

Señor... Mister... Herr Millen... Gracias. Thanks. Danke. I WAS in Hamburg... New York on June 26, 1966. I can't believe I missed this. Although, I was working a summer job then between my Junior and Senior years in high school. It just seems so unlike mein Vater Robert Frederick West ... oder meine Oma Hilda (a true Beatles fan) und/oder meine Tante Gertrude not to mention this to me (she wasn't a whole lotta fun, though, as I remember). Anyway, gracias por tu video... and offering me some closure. RT sends... envía... ¿sendet? ... Colonia Centro Histórico, Puebla, México... You don't know how lucky you are to have the first name Alan (do they use Al there?) I've been Robert Thomas, or DerRobMann, Bobby, Robbie, Roberto, Beto, now Robertin (another diminutive... Ro-bear-teen). I find just going by RT more convenient now.
The "Bravo Blitz Tournee" of June 1966 marked the last time The Beatles performed in Europe: specifically Munich, Essen and Hamburg, before heading for Japan, the Philippines and North America. A pity that you missed the opportunity while in Hamburg. Segments from the 2 concerts in Munich can be found on UA-cam. Pretty good viewing, I think.
@@beatlecorner I watched them. Good stuff. Hey, it's not easy being 3rd gen German-American and not being taught German by your parents. I wish my dad, grandmother and aunt would have. Studied some French in high school... that's for the teachers, not really for the students to learn to speak. Then, I'm here in Puebla... had to learn Spanish... but there are many German speakers here because of VW, Audi, Mercedes, Siemens Corp and others. I could have had adult playmates here ... beer garden stuff would have been good enough for me. As a US Navy Lieutenant, and the token German-American on our guided missile destroyer, I was volunteered by the Captain to be the sponsor of a West German Naval Officer as part of a NATO exchange program. English only. A German friend here in downtown Puebla, Mexiko... Spanish, sometimes English. Only once heard him speaking German... on the cell phone. The only fight left? Will it be American-English or English-English. I'm not even sure if Australian-English qualifies as English. Oh... I was in Hamburg, New York... in June 1966, not Hamburg, Deutschland.
"George do you wear long underwear during wintertime?"

The long underwear question must surely rank amongst the silliest the Beatles ever had to deal with.
