A part of their history that doesn't get discussed much except the mention of how hard they worked and the friends they made

John's first solo record was Plastic Ono Band (1970). The Rock 'n' Roll album featuring the picture from Hamburg was his sixth studio album and was released in February 1975.
Thank you for clarifying!
Great documentary. I've always heard about the Hamburg shows putting them on the map, but never in detail like this!
Thank you! I also have another Beatles video, check it out!
It wasn't the German audience who yelled "mach Schau" = put on a show, it was the owner of the club who instigated them. Anyway, good heartfelt docu.
thanks!
Whew that had to be tough but obviously character building...learning their craft.
That was the best years of their lives
Great work! Loved this documentary!
Very very well done 😁
Nice job. I particularly liked that you showed what the venues look like today. The group in the studio in the colour video at 2:53 are The Swinging Blue Jeans.
Awesome, did not know that. Thank you for sharing!

Good job very accurate. I'm right in the middle of the book Tune In.
I haven't read it yet! I heard it is great! You should read Here,There,Everywhere by Geoff Emerick.

Rock 'n' Roll wasn't released until 1975; it was his last album before he quit issuing LP's for the next 5 years.
they released NOTHING after 1970 when they BROKE UP,,,,DUH

Good video... crisp and to the point, without any wasted jabbering. Just a correction... it's accolade, not allocade.
I believe the Beatles had met The Hurricanes while in Liverpool - BEFORE they went to Hamburg. I vaguely recall reading somewhere that Rory's home was a hang-out for the pop-band scene in Liverpool. Rory's Mum was a particular 'character'.
Happy to be corrected.
you are correct! I am reading tune in and it says they would run into each other in Liverpool. Although they got close in Hamburg.
Rory's Mum owned the "Jacaranda Club", where all the bands in Liverpool got their first live experience.

beatles antherology?
Stuard and Astrid look alike.
They were only called the Beat Brothers because Beatles sounded too much like Peedles which supposedly meant penis although on a German site i was just one this is disputed.
Stu Sutcliffe was attacked by thugs outside a club in Liverpool and suffered a skull fracture when he was slammed against a stone wall. Let than a year later he suddenly died of a brain aneurysm. Very sad.
Lovely short video, but ACColade pronounced ALLocade, why do you say that non existant word, or is this just me? Sorry don't mean to be nit-picking.

So Georges parents let the underage George go to work for months in the red light district? Were they.paid or just lousy parents?
Lousy parents??
If he’d been mollycoddled by helicopter parents he wouldn’t have been part of history.
He ended up rich, he was wise yet humble.

It was a different time. In the 50's and 60's a 17 year old boy was considered old enough to work, and do his own thing.
He was old enough to work as an electrician. His parents had second thoughts about George working as a professional musician as the odds of making it were slim. But George was passionate and he wasn't going to pass up his chance at playing with a decent band for cash...especially as he was recognized as the best stringman in the bunch.
"allocades" ? LOL
🤣
never trust a Beatl..you allways trust the Rolling Stones
Accolades… It's pronounced: ACK-o-lades. God help us.
How did Sutcliffe die? Drugs as usually?
Brain aneurysm. He was attacked by thugs outside a club in Liverpool and suffered a skull fracture and died of a brain aneurysm less than a year later. Unknown if the two were connected but it's a reasonable assumption. He had already left the Beatles by that time. Once he started dating Astrid, he quit the band and enrolled in art school in Hamburg. Paul took over playing bass when Stu left the band.
@@NealB123 Strange. Very strange. I think I have heard this somewhere. Why would thugs in Liverpool attack some slim, intellectual, who had played a base guitar and enrolled in a school to become a painter? Football disagreement? Girls?
Your bias favoring Ringo over Pete is completely transparent. You hardly mentioned Pete, and yet it was his drumming style, the "Atomic Beat", which he invented (and Ringo stole, as did every other drummer in Hamburg and Liverpool at the time) that defined the Beatles' sound. Good grief. Thumbs down.
I never even thought about how I was favoring Ringo. Thank you mentioning that, I will try to not do so in my next documentary. I have never heard of the Atomic Beat, where did you read about this?
@@dreamstraveled Thanks for being open-minded. I will gladly provided you with sources, just gimme a few days as I'll be swamped returning to work after the long holiday weekend.
@@Cosmo-Kramer Yeah let's see the sources.....
@@dreamstraveled Hi Dreams Traveled. I am so glad I found you again! And I owe it to ramblings adrift for bringing me back here today. You see, by the time I got around to grabbing my sources, I could no longer find your video! And I was super bummed, because I had promised you I would back up my comment with sources, and I thought you'd think I was ducking you because I had no sources. Okay, so then, all's well that ends well, me mum used to say, she did. There's more than one source, but I'm going to copy here for you the most comprehensive one, which is really a compilation of many sources. It is an award-winning documentary about The Beatles during their formative years in Hamburg and Liverpool, from 1960 to 1962, when Pete Best was the band's drummer, called. "Anthology Zero: The Beatles at their Best". (see link below)
I could tell you precisely where to go in the documentary to hear about The Atom Beat which Pete invented, but I'm not going to (unless you insist) because I really think it's important that you watch the entire 24-minute documentary, as there is SO much more fascinating stuff in their about not just Pete Best, but the others lads, as well, and their managers and whatnot. I'm certain you'll find it riveting and educational. Without further ado, here is the link. Please let me know what your thoughts are on it after you've finished watching it. Cheerio.
