I went on the Beatle tour in Liverpool last year, and it was amazing to be in John''s and Paul's houses, in the same rooms were they wrote their songs and the bedroom where he dragged a comb across his head, stood in the door entrance in John's house where they practiced their harmonies, liked the echo the entrance had. I played on Paul's home piano, drank a cup of water from John's kitchen sink, signed the Penny Lane street sign, sat in the barbers chair, and there is an octopus in the garden in the shade, and gave my respects to Eleanor Rigby's grave. It was an amazing magical mystery tour for me, and I was 72 at the time... a very long time fan of the Beatles.
@@growlerthe2nd712 I went on a Beatles Convention in '92 - 5 nights in London and 11 nights in Liverpool. Abbey Road was celebrating their 60th year and would let in our American Tour along with a Japanese Tour for a 3-hour recording session. I was the only one who brought along a guitar (a green sunburst Yamaha acoustic,) walking around at first I remember playing "Blackbird.") Moments later, after we gang-sang the chorus to "Beautiful Boy" by John Lennon, the engineers set up a mic on me and we started with what I though was one of the best choruses, "Hide Your Love Away," so everyone would sing along, we did 3 takes, (onto DAT) and continued with countless others, including Help, Hard Day's Night... Luckily, my buddy/drummer Les had his video camera, climbing half-way up the stairwell to video tape a good chunk of the session. It was such a lucky privilege to get to record at Abbey Road. That is something I'll never forget. Studio A (which was off limits) was a vast/enormous high-ceiling sound chamber whereas Studio B where the Beatles did their work was much smaller. Lastly, I got to sit in the engineers' chair while he engineered and mixed the tracks starting with processing on my guitar and making it almost sound like a slightly chorused 12-string - very subtle addition but it made an enormous difference, then the lead vocals, and finally the gang singing with probably about 30 American voices and the same number of Japanese folks as well. Once in a life time!
Can I just appreciate how powerful Paul's voice? And that back massage from John to Paul is so cute hahaha. I'm totally into them this days for real and I don't regret it.
I am 73 and up till now The Beatles are the BEST for me. I am happy to live my youth with the Beales" music. Все годы моей юности и молодости прошли с Битлз. Ничего лучше за эти годы так и не появилось в мире.
Ticket to Ride is definitely one (?) of the most beautiful songs from the Beatles! In my opinion, they were in the best shape in 1965. These beautiful vocals put me in a trance. I'm 74 years old, but I enjoy their music like when I was 19-20 years old. My daughter married the day before yesterday and I couldn't stand it and sang into the microphone Hey Jude even without a guitar. and the others all sang chorus with me. The Beatles make people happy even after decades!
Many of those girls in the audience are grandmothers now & some of them are even great- grandmothers & some have sadly passed on to that Great Beatle Heaven in the sky 🙏 🕊
Any live Beatles footage, no matter how grainy the video or how funky the sound, is a joy for me to watch. I saw them on Ed Sullivan at the age of 8, and I thought "I want to do that for a living". My life was never the same. After 55 years as a professional musician I have a lot of rock n roll stories for the grandkids lol.
What a lovely time to grow up listening to The Beatles. I was always amazed hearing every song. I just turned 70 and oh what beautiful memories I have! Rock on beautiful souls 🎵🌟🌷❤️🙏🌟🥰
Hear you! They had that affect and it frightened them seeing how powerful it was. Unfortunately, two died because of it. John outside his home and George inside his being severely nearly mortally wounded and affecting his cancer recovery. On a more positive note, even on celluloid they could rock a room. Was sixteen stopped to see yellow submarine enjoying it. Credits roll ppl queuing to leave and suddenly there they are on screen - boom! Looking great with John and his mutton chop siderburns and the room let out a wail of joy! They were not there mind you nothing more than two dimensional figures and had the place booming! Incredible emotional connection to their audience and fans everywhere! Nothing like it nor ever again!
I sometimes have to pinch myself that this group actually happened. I mean that is 1965 none of the powerful or sophisticated sound systems you have now but how good are they on there? They simply changed the world.
Well said Archie. I feel like I have to pinch myself that the whole era happened, it seems so long ago and surreal now. It's no fun being old now but I'm so glad I was young then and lived those times. It sounded great then, and it does now too.
I'm with you guys. How lucky I have been to love music and buy a new Beatles album when it was released. The definition of artist, talent, genius, in music The Fab Four. Just raw talent and a few instruments. Amazes me still to this day. For the people, if you want to be a real musician study this, the greatest selling band of all time. To this now old man, They were the best.✌️
OMG! There are no words. I have never seen this footage and now I have goosebumps! Just like I did when I saw The Beatles perform on Ed Sullivan in 1964!❤️✌️ I’m now 65, and LOVE the Fab Four as much as I did then!
Sweet Heart The result of each musician endlessly practicing on their respective instruments to achieve a high level of technical ability, endless rehearsals to write, arrange and form the final song and finally, endless live gigging anywhere they could find to play. By the time this event was staged, they were nigh perfect. Still the best ever.
I think people sometimes overlook what a dedicated hardworking band they were. For example look the quantity and quality (not to mention progression) of music they recorded in just 6 or 7 years..........freaking astounding achievement.
I did live sounds bands for years - monitors and F.O.H.(front of the house) and I am so impressed on how each of them have kept their voices not falling out of tune and in that insane screaming environment... It's simply Unbelievable!
They did not need playback, as their voices in combination were very beautiful. I love them so much... and for me, they were the kings of the 60s, such a spectacular band
The BEATLES - это моя юность, которая со мной навсегда! Мне 69, но когда я ставлю виниловый диск Битлз на проигрыватель, я становлюсь моложе и не иссякает желание жить!
Never ever again. It was a totally magical time with totally magical music and I was there. Sang every song. Knew every word. Still love this very special music. Sorry for people who never got them. .
I think if I were on my death bed and someone cranked up a Beatles song...Death would just have to wait until the song was over. It's kinda weird the almost "magical power" these guys' songs have over me. I can be in the Worst mood and Boiiiing, "Oh, It's a Beatle Song on the Radio, turn it up!"
That's our grandmas, grandpa's, aunties and uncles there. Now our sons, daughters, nieces, nephews and grandkids are amazed at this same band. They are simply the greatest.
I was at my daughters for a 18th birthday party of one of my grandkids, all his friends were there and some younger grandkids of mine, she was putting some music on mainly todays stuff, but nobody was taking any notice, so after an half hour or so she said you choose some music dad, i put Ticket to Ride on, and my grandson and his mates all came running in and started to dance, and they all sang it word for word at the top of their voices, and talking to them after they all told me how much they loved the Beatles, that night summed the Beatles up for me, nearly 60 years on and they still get people up dancing and singing along.
I don't think women ever recovered from Elvis and Beatles mania. They were almost literally fuelled by oestrogen, an at that time untapped resource kept deep underground.
With the equipment available at the time, I’m amazed that they could hear what they were playing, how they stayed in harmony with each other, and how they weren’t deaf within 2 years.
Absolutely amazing! I remember seeing it in 1965 and even this short, but most important segment is incredibly thrilling. The complete shows must be gathering dust somewhere just crying out to be shown! KAN 3.20 UK
The sound guy only remembered turning Paul and George's mike after a few verses of I Feel Fine. I'm sure he thought "nevermind, no one is ever listen to this again".
En 1965, tenía 11 años y los Beatles marcaron mi vida musical con otros grandes rockeros ingleses y norteamericanos; ahora tengo 67 años y me siento rejuvenecer cuando los escucho, quedarán eternamente en la memoria e historia del rock.
I'm watching during Coronavirus and as a Beatles fan in the truest sense you know a phenomenal band is good when 60 years later you turn on your TV any two or three commercials have their music in it! Best band in history best music in history. It was a gift to us!
Lennon & McCartney sound great together with NO STAGE MONITORS. They sound & look so great together as a live band. Just fabulous. I still don't know they did it so well with that inferior sound system back in 1965.
Nobody did it before and it hasnt been done again : the Beatles changed the sound of R&R. If not for the B's evrybody'd still be doing the same old boogie rhythms of the 50s. They came up with totally different and unusual melodies , songs , everything. Every album was completely different from the last and the music was like no one else's. And since they left, we've been in the same old R&R sounds as before. The Beatles are unBeatable !
I'm 72 in two weeks and have enjoyed then LOVED the Fabfour since I first heard them on my transistor radio BEFORE they appeared on the Ed Sullivan show. The very best!!

Nobody says they weren't good live

I've never seen "Baby's in Black" performed live by the Beatles until this video. Great harmonizing by Paul and John!
They did live alot
It is on Shea Stadium show if you can find it. Whole show is on Anthology DVD
You can't fit a credit card between Paul and John. They were mirror reflections of each other.
“Oh How long will it take ..” is celestial.
Another great song from the boys, cant help noticing amy winehouse similar lyrics in back to black.
The harmonies in ticket to ride are unbelievable

Paul looked so happy in those close-ups of Ticket to Ride
So very cool!!
Good for you, Frank Leo. U r one f d privileged few. Thanks for sharing.
I’ve done the same total magic 🤩
彼らのハーモニーは他の追随を許さない調和と美しさが際立っています。私は71歳ですが15歳からずっとオンタイムで彼らの美しい歌声、演奏に魅了されて大変幸せだと思う。
Great clip. A touch of magic for those of us who never got the chance to see them live.
This is a great set of their songs, and you can hear the harmonies too!
I never get tired of the songs of the Beatles.
I am 72 years old and play them all the time! They never get old. ❤😂
I was in a childrens home. The Beatles literally LIT UP my little life. Every song I knew by heart.
baby's in black may be the perfect Lennon and McCartney harmony , just perfect

Indeed. Sublime.
Many of those girls in the audience are grandmothers now & some of them are even great- grandmothers & some have sadly passed on to that Great Beatle Heaven in the sky 🙏 🕊
The Beatles opened up the flood gates for such great talent from the UK. A big thank you for making the 60’s so great.
I believe that Bill Wyman, of Rolling Stones fame, said "they made it possible for the rest of us."
The Beatles WERE THE FLOOD everything else was insignificant by comparison..
Me too! Same age. 8)

I can listen to John & Paul sing Ticket to Ride everyday for the rest of my life.

You can tell they still liked each other. Paul and John seem especially close.
when the Beatles were making music all seemed to be ok, even when they were making Let it Be.
They always liked each other...
Imagine they had no monitors and STILL sounded freaking AMAZING!!!!
Sweet Heart
The result of each musician endlessly practicing on their respective instruments to achieve a high level of technical ability, endless rehearsals to write, arrange and form the final song and finally, endless live gigging anywhere they could find to play. By the time this event was staged, they were nigh perfect. Still the best ever.
I think people sometimes overlook what a dedicated hardworking band they were. For example look the quantity and quality (not to mention progression) of music they recorded in just 6 or 7 years..........freaking astounding achievement.

A concert featuring Beatles,Animals and Stones. The NME knew how to throw a party.
Imagine the ticket price for that. Today it would be beyond anyone but Bezos being the richest man in the world.
Well, when you add Jimmy Savile, the definition of "party" gets awkward.
and, also, the Kinks, the Moody Blues, Them, and others.

A rare pleasure to hear John's guitar high up in the mix.

So cool. Never noticed Paul singing melody line with John on Ticket to Ride until harmonizing 'but she don't care!'
Yeah. Is that the case though in the original?
@@karthikravichandran4 in the original John is double tracked and Paul only sings the harmony, I believe. The lads would often perform songs differently on stage to make it sound like the record. Like on “All My Loving”, in the album version, Paul is harmonizing with himself, but when they played it live, George sang the harmony.
