I would love to see a dreamcast classic. It needs the love it never got.
I'd prefer a Dreamcast collection for modern consoles - in my opinion that'd be a better way to bring those games to new audiences
@@thekosmickollector7748 A bunch of DC games have been released on PC (and a lot of the multiplatform stuff has already been out on PC since back then).
There would be a whole lot of licensing issues, I'm afraid. For example, I doubt they could put Crazy Taxi with it's original soundtrack on there. And that would be a real shame!
they should release a sega ages mini console altogether, with classics from the sega master system up to the dreamcast.
@YTCensorsMe Poop i feel you man, but i've heard sega is actually planning to make a mini genesis, and even dismissed the infamous at games from the task.
i hope they work together with m2, they're the best out there in terms of dealing with oldschool games.
btw, mini arcade machines don't click with me, i mean it's cool and all but in the end you're paying a reasonable price for a single game.
You know what isnt mini? My love for this channel.
:)
Exactly!
"And it kinda pissed me off."
Get em, Dave.
The layout for the controllers on the Neo-Geo mini were designed with fighting games in mind. It puts your punches on top and kicks on bottom (from weak to strong) in games like King of Fighters.
I wanna see a Gameboy Classic compiling the best of all of the game boy family games (gba, gbc ,original gb)
I want Sega to release the GREEEeeenDOOOOoog Classic!
Greendog 2: Surfer Dude In Space!
I just ordered 15 copies of that game, 1 to play and the other 14 to put around my house.
I hope that SEGA sells the version with digitized graphics that uses the gyroscope of your cell phone, that would be great.
Watching Joe suffer to say Nintendo does it right...priceless.
that's only because we still don't have a mega drive mini
this@Mike Jones
We did get a Genesis Mini of sorts from Sega, but they didn’t give a shit for some reason and let ATGames ruin it
@Mike Jones 3DS did quite well though
Mike Jones. Well I agree the Wii U was a failure but despite that, the Wii U is a great system that it has potential and it’s more powerful than the PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii but the only problem that it came at a REALLY WRONG TIME when the PS4 and Xbox One were approaching very quickly with their specs. DON’T EXPLAIN THAT PEOPLE WERE CONFUSED WITH THE SYSTEM NAME. I’M VERY MAD OF THAT EXCUSE OF A WII U FAILURE. GET LEARNING CONSUMERS ! 😡. I WAS BRINGING SACRIFICE FOR THE WII U !
If only the SNES mini had Chrono Trigger :( - then it would be perfect...
You can add it yourself thankfully
That C64 R-Type title music is AWESOME!
100% agreed.
Wait...for moment I thought you typed “N64.”
GameSack Mini: only preloaded games are Greendog, Gangster Town and Road Avenger
Don't forget Snatcher.
edit: Except where Snatcher should be it will be a blank space because Dave stole it.
Got to include hard drivin' as well
Of course it should say something with MEGA-POWER
That first track from the R-Type sid file for the C64 is awesome. Nice choice.
Thumbs up! Hackchi! 😂
Haha! The wooden NES controller knocking Joe in the head at the end!! 😂😂😂😂
Great episode guys how about an episode on games you love but still can't beat
They did an episode similar to that.."games we never beat" or something close to that.
Do you even follow channel, pleeb
Ah, my favourite systems, the "mod them to include games you actually want" lineup!
Thank you so much for this great video.
I really love it when my weekend
contains a Game Sack episode.
The only thing i truely want right now is a Nintendo 64 mini !!
@Mike Jones I'd still go for that actually. Better than giving $100+ to some greedy human trash.
Princeyomi I don’t know. While the N64 does have some legit classics that have stood the test of time the majority of the games from that era have aged poorly. I think the psone mini kinda proves that
Nintendo 64 mini would definitely be cool, and not really problematic to implement. Its reliance on cartridges ensures that the ROM sizes won't demand too much internal storage.
And I think Nintendo could even do it right, unlike the PlayStation Mini.
nohomers100 no
Picked up the ps classic for half price, installed bleemsync with retroarch and never looked back. It’s brilliant!
I'm waiting for when I can actually add games, not "replace" them. Since I don't have the right keyboard, I can't get into the emulator settings. As it currently stands, my PS Mini, along with my Nintendo ones, is completely stock, except for a Yōk adapter. At least the (S)NES Minis' adapters can work with the PS Mini.
@@Chaos89P You don't need a keyboard for the ps1 mini if you hack it, plus you can use a 8bitdo bluetooth adapter to use a different controller.
Come on Dave, you could've at least stolen Joe's copy of Snatcher while he was unconscious. You're slipping dude.
When I saw the NES classic come with Double Dragon 2, I was sold.
The c64 joystick only came with one button that's why the ghost and goblins (and some others games) use "up" for jumping. The others buttons are for using the mini menu and some are mapped for f1 and the space key if I'm not mistaking
I'll never tire of the intro riff 👌
I love Battle Arena also love the inclusion of Ridge Racer 4 BGM during the review
The way the hands interacts with the boards during the disassembly stop motion was neat!
I have fond memories of Battle Arena Toshinden. I bought a PS right after it came out and got that game with it. It was a few weeks before I had money for a second game. My friend and I played the hell out of it, it seemed so futuristic at the time.
I have memories of being four years old and making my own game consoles with Cardboard.
Finally good Mini Systems video! It's worth noting 512MB limitation of NES Classic is easily bypassed with USB or even nifty SD mod. The NEOGEO X firmware can also be hacked to fix video issues, load more games and emulators, which makes it better than NEOGEO mini IMO.
Does the hack/firmware update fix the screen on the handheld? The screen had a line that went down the screen near the center. I think one side was slightly different in color or something. Was definitely noticable on mine and when I looked online I seen lots of people had the same issue.
Think so, since it affects aspect ratio, but it was long ago and I was mostly interested in TV mode.
The Nes and SNes mini are also compatable with the Wii pro and classic controlers, as well as the wii U gamecube looking controlers. Really usefull if you are going to put playstation or N64 roms on it.
Made me so happy you used the Double Dragon II arrange album during the NES Classic breakdown!
The tiny detail of the cardboard Gameboy screen moving at the very end was a funny little touch.
You know the best part of the NES and the SNES Classics?
WE CAN MOD GREENDOG ONTO THEM.
MegaDrive Mini 💖! Saturn Mini💖! DREAMCAST MINI💖! Please SEGAAAAAA!
Legendary Super Mario greendog is art of art was a giant turd 💩
You know the worst part of the NES and the SNES Classics?
No Duck Hunt or Lethal Enforcers respectively.
Forget the neo geo mini, get a switch and choose the hamster ports of neo geo games of your *choice*.. 108 titles currently available.
Teddy M no
@@V0YAG3R why? give a reason. Those I have played are identical to the real thing, better emu that neo geo's own.
You can say the same about the NES and SNES games. This is a lot about the presentation and experience.
You guys are the best and I'm always excited to see a new video! Thanks for another great one!
I really liked during the PlayStation stop motion tear down, Joe’s hand (I think) picks up the board. It’s a simple little thing, but I just really liked that added touch. Another excellent episode guys!
I really like to see a Original Xbox Classic Mini which does needs to happen.
I was wondering if you guys thought about putting a footer/header with the game title beneath each game you show for a couple seconds. Sometimes you blast through game titles so fast, I miss their name and have to rewind as couple times to find the game.
Not that big of problem mind you, but I've found many games through your show and this idea might help myself and others in the future.
Great suggestion.
If you were watching on a SNES Classic you could use the rewind feature!
I usually do rewind, but sometimes even rewinding I miss the name of the game they're showing. This happened during the PS2 episode when I was looking for games for the consoles.
Thank you! It just seems like it would be helpful for those who find new games through their show!
Happens all the time. I become interested in the game after I see the footage. Showing me the name before the game forces to me to rewind it.
LOVE that you guys tackled this subject. Too popular to ignore!
Another great episode. Thank you! Oh, and the Woodman theme at the end, awesome!
The game you want to play on that c64 is IMPOSSIBLE MISSION
Why is Joe so calm?! I prefer his acid version.
This makes me laugh harder than it should.
Maybe his stomach acid was too high and he had too calm down
*I WAS WAITING FOR YOU GUYS TO THIS!* 🙌🙌🙌
Playstation Classic back on sale for 40 bucks. It's worth it at that price.
Meh I’m a sucker for these mini consoles. I love them.
you're both crazy.

Still waiting for the Sega Master system mini and Turbo grafx 16 mini.
Absolutely! The Turbo Grafx 16 mini would be the one I´d buy in an instant.
I’ll be picking those up on day one for sure, along with the FM Towns Marty Mini, and the Apple Bandai Pippin Classic. . . Because there is just as much chance of those being produced as a SMS or TG16 “mini” system. Not that I wouldn’t want one if they came out, because SMS and TG16 both rule, but c’mon, it ain’t happening.
But hey, we ARE getting the Mega Sg, and that’s gonna be awesome.
Great, should they keep it to scale then the controller cord would be what.....5 inches?
Aw man if that tg16 was any decent it would sell like crazy.
Never gonna happen
Couldn't have come at a better time. Going through a sleepless period and looking for some distraction. Thanks! Really enjoy you guys.
5:39 the word you where looking for was "Artificial Scarcity"
That's two words, but yes.
I don’t agree with that assessment. I feel like people don’t take into account supply chain issues when they criticize Nintendo. The “artificial scarcity” thing is based on the idea “why can’t they just make enough for everybody!?!?”, but it never bothers to take into account just how hardware is made. It has to be fabricated in a factory, shipped, warehoused and then sold through stores. There is a literal maximum capacity that the supply chain can accommodate without first stockpiling it. And when companies stockpile merchandise, you get scenarios like Makesco who went out of business because they bet on their UDraw tablet selling, and it didn’t sell.
Look, what happened to Sony with their thing. I would bet that they took a huge bath on that initiative.
JazGalaxy agreed. Everything I saw in 2016 said to me that Nintendo only intended to make one production run and the size of that run was decided by how many people preordered. And in the run up to Christmas things went bonkers. Nintendo initially seemed to think of the NES classic mini as a neat little novelty to excite enthusiasts. They know there's a part of their audience that loves to collect cool little nick nacks and I think they were genuinely taken aback by how mainstream the appeal for it is and it took a while for them to do another meaningful production run. I am not privy to all the details about the supply chain for the parts required for it or how producing it affects other items that Nintendo has assembled by Foxcon but I honestly don't think Nintendo creates a situation of artificial scarcity just so that resellers can can make some kwik coin on ebay
One way to know if this is true is to wait for the N64 classic. Its no lie that everyone wants this to happen. So Nintendo should make a large number to cover the hench demand for it right?
If it turns out it is limited then I will definitely back up this claim.
*term ;)
Probably never gonna happen, but I'd love to see a PC engine/TurboGrafx-16 Classic Mini console!
Also, I know the C64 is super popular and stuff, but I'd pick an Amiga Classic Mini over the C64 one any day...
The PC Engine was already the size of a 2017 SNES Classic back in 1987. No need to redesign anything, just pull the original moulds out of storage and voila - the world's most attractive console lives again!
Would also buy a Turbo Mini so hard!!
PC-Engine Mini was announced by Konami at E3 2019. Dreams come true my friend.
You need to check out BitHead1000’s channel. You can thank me later.
THUNDA' RING!
Yeaaaah, now I want to see a Battle Arena Toshinden retrospective
I don't think it was mentioned in the video. Regarding the NES & SNES Mini, you can get a pair or 3rd party extension cables for the controllers and they work fine. You only need one set and can just use it between the systems. They are on Amazon for like 10.00 bucks.
I have the SNES Classic Edition. My brother gave it to me for my birthday 2 years ago and I still played with it and Super Metroid is my favorite game to play on that awesome mini console.
They should do a ds Classic mini for the rising gen z population, like me and a gba classic
The disappointment of the PlayStation Classic still stings. That thing should’ve been better than it was, instead of the failed cash grab that it is. I had mine all preordered and paid off when it was announced, but as the truth about the thing came to light, it was an easy cancellation. Too bad.
Love the ending, guys. That had to have left a mark! :)
MegaDrive Mini 💖! Saturn Mini💖! DREAMCAST MINI💖! Please SEGAAAAAA!
It's like asking for "Gangsta's Paradise" to be the ending theme to Jojo's Bizarre Adventure Season 4, but you instead get "Freek'n You" and you didn't like the outcome. Even changing to "Modern Crusaders" later on didn't satisfy you.
If you decide to hack them it’s actually the best of the bunch due to the 16gb onboard memory, faster cpu and the great controllers. Kind of amazing how a few UA-camrs can destroy a product, the initial lineup of games and 100 asking price was not great. As of now my mega drive mini nes and snes mini are collecting dust while I have my ps mini constantly hooked up to my tv for retro games. Ps1 games also didn’t age that well, I understand that people are disappointed when games don’t look as well as we remember.. I regret I didn’t buy more when they were very cheap.
The afterburner poster in the background is awesome!!
You guys are great, I really enjoy your videos. I’m from England and collect retro consoles, I get all my info from you.
Great work guys, please keep making cool videos
Alright, Hot Sack and a Game Pocket!
Ps classic goes from zero to hero when you decide to add more games, for and all in one retro game emulator it’s the best choice of anything available imo, I have over 8,000 games and 37 different systems on my ps classic and they all look and play great‼️💯
Great episode! I watched the whole thing already!
That cardboard mock-up GameBoy mini looks awesome, good job with that.
This vid kicked me right in the game sack!
wear a cup next time, duh!
Anyone here wants to see a GameCube mini ?😄👌
Gamecube mini with a gameboy player built in
Rather have a mini TG16
That would be cool but I think we are about 10 years away from that happening. We can't even buy Gamecube games from a digital storefront yet. Imagine how much memory a Gamecube classic would need as well, think it would still be prohibitively expensive at this point.
Definitely not. GameCube games on the switch however...
N64 mini would be the best, since even now the N64 is difficult to emulate perfectly, and require lots of special cases in the programming of the emulators for each game, meaning outside of the popular hits it can be messed up. Whereas Gamecube emulation is easy and perfect, Dolphin might be the best emulator there is, you can even upgrade the games so they're in HD and so on.
I still remember back in 2016 how frustrating it was getting an NES Classic Edition. I don't know why Nintendo shipped so little, what did they expect? But at least we could get it easily by 2018 along with the SNES Mini and it was still worth the wait...
Were you able to get a second controller for your NES?
I ended up with I think four NES Classics (two model ones and two model twos) and about six extra controllers.
@@tetrisdave Actually, the SNES Mini controllers are compatible with the NES Mini. Because the wiring is longer I use them instead...
You two have the BEST REVIEWS even telling me the chipset and graphics processor and all the technical jargon!!
Sweet new Game Sack.
I am holding out for a CD-I mini.
Lol gonna be holding out for the rest of your life to play that bootleg Zelda
Does it come with a mini paint bucket?
I played Neo Turf Masters today! Still amazing.
I have the nes and snes classics and about to get the sega genesis mini along with the original n64 these consoles are what i played with the most and real happy to have them again the nostalgia is there
At least the NES mini is easy to find now! Same with the SNES mini!
Some retailers have raised the price on the SNES Classic though to over $100.
Snes mini is not on shelves anymore. You can pay a premium on ebay for one though :(
@YTCensorsMe Poop if they are 80 a pop id buy as many as you can...
@YTCensorsMe Poop it really doesnt matter, those snes classics are long gone off those shelves bud.
Sorry, but Tecmo Super Bowl is the greatest sports title ever released on the NES - in fact, it's the best sports game ever made.
These outro skits are the funniest gaming content on UA-cam.
Today at about 2am I was trying to fall asleep when, suddenly, a wild Game Sack video pop out in my notifications. And you know the rest of the story.
I want a PC Engine mini, with Hu Card, CD and Super Cd games
It finally exist.
I have a small grudge: Dave, Syphon Filter is a great game with a lot of things explained, a lot of elaborate maps and a great experience overall. Why did you not mention it?
They show like 4 seconds of gameplay footage. What more do you want?!
I've been waiting for you to do a mini episode... awesome!!
I love my snes classic plus all the games I've added, its great now lol
the ps1 classic in the UK are down to £9.50 in some stores because no one was buying their stock
Really or joke?
In Italy now It costs 49€
(It starts from 100)
Over here in Estonia you get a copy of fallout 76 with a ps mini
Wal-Mart is still charging full price with tons in stock!😂
@@giulianofrontini223 no im serious, they were £90 for about 2 weeks and they quickly ended up about £45 and now most places are about £29.99....but some supermarkets have reduced them to £9.50 to get rid of them as they've had them for about 4 months
I'd have one for £9.50 . I've never seen them that cheap
I don't think there will be a PS2 classic. PS2 emulation needs a pretty beefy PC to begin with and on Android it also needs the highest end chips just to play somewhat well. Doubt Sony will bother with making custom hardware that can run PS2 games given they couldn't be bothered to make proper software for the PS1 Classic which bassically any low end ARM SoC from the past 5 years can run the PS1 emulator flawlessly.
I wish Nvidia would release a new Sheild that used the Tegra X2 or a newer chipset. The Shield TV can nearly handle ps2 perfectly and just a bit more juice would do the trick.
@@TheLastLineLive given the lack of support by Nvidia I doubt they even care that much for the platform now.
Wouldn't say never. Tech continues to advance. Maybe another 15 to 20 years?
@@jesuszamora6949 I think that is a bit much. I do believe tech and software will improve and we will have ps2 run perfectly on mobile soc. I doubt Sony will invest into a capable soc though since they will be fairly expensive. I mean I guess the snapdragon 855 can probably emulate gamecube perfectly but it's expensive as hell.
sonicblast19 i have a one year old laptop I bought for work with a 1070 and i7. It runs ps2 in 1080-4k at 59-60fps. Completely agreed, ps2 needs lots of power
Nostalgia won't make me buy a bunch of plastic, but it's fun to remember the originals.
Love that skit at the end! I can't play this ''proceeds to KO Joe'' lmao.
I'm gonna drop a major poo now before I leave for the city when I play my mini next time!
19:38 that's because the c-64 had only one usable button, there's no way they could implement jumping with other buttons, even if they added 500 buttons
This is what I was waiting for! Thank you!
great video, always worth the wait
15:12 "its more restrictive due to the type of helper chips some games have." WRONG! Well, more misleading actually.
The emulator on the SNESClassic supports all the major "helper chips", and specifically with them all the major most popular games using those chips. I was able to get StarOcean working on it for crying out loud! lol
It was, and maybe still kind of is, a major misconception and myth spread by excessive modders who are obsessed with putting retroarch and other fan emus on these devices for some reason, that the default emulator (canoe) "barely runs any of the SNES library", and thus those other emus are required. But in reality, through my own and others research and testing there are very very few games that canoe will not run. Basically, it run's about 99.9% of the SNES catalog with either no or minor issues.
I always try the default emulator for both the NES and SNES Minis before changing to another emulator option.
I agree with this very much. I have about 185 added games using Hakchi to my SNES folder on mine, and like maybe...5 of them? Actually require SNES9x to run.
Canoe does some real work.
Episode ideas: Amiga 500plus and 1200. And another episode on the C64
I would love that, but they have said directly in the comments to me in the past that they don't normally cover Micro Computers, plus the Amiga by far, and away was not as popular here in the US as it was in Europe, so that means a lot less NTSC games, and it was mostly used for more professional applications like video production, and Animation. Most people here in the US went from C64 to IBM/Clone X-86 machines, if they even had an 8-bit micro computer to start with.
Isn't it crazy when you realize you've been watching the sack for like over 5 years?
I love you Dave and Joe
God I am LOVING this new intro more and more!
It seems Nintendo are the only ones who can do Minis right.
That said, I can't wait for the Mega Drive Mini!
Isn't AtGames still working on this one though?
@@gluttonousmaximus9048 No Sega cut ties with AtGames before the Mega Drive Mini was in production.
Yeah that's the only reason it's exciting, because AtGames aren't working on this one. I dunno whether I'll get it though, depends on the games, because I already have the mega drive collection on steam and switch so if its just those games again I might give it a miss. Unless it's hackable and you can out all the games on it. But the guys who made the Analogue NT and Super NT and all that are making a mega drive in their style, where its not emulation but literally the same console just far more ruggedly built. So that looks interesting.
@Mike Jones Um, no? Nintendo intended the NES/SNES to be a short-term products. They're just doing it right.
Im not even going to waste my time on a sega minil after experiencing the analogue snes i purchased few months back, i already preordered mega sg from them, that zero lag is a beautiful thing when playing on a lcd screen, its more expensive but worth it in my opinion, these mini consoles still has emulators running them, so laggy controller response times will still be a issue.
Bonuh!
Bone us bone us bone us bone us
Donuts
I havent watched the video yet, Saving it for bedtime. Ive been looking fowards to anouther console episode and love the mini range. Cheers Gamesack!
The NES Classic was restocked and now is fairly common on store shelves. I’d grab one soon though because they are out of production. The initial release sold out quickly but they made almost 3 million of them.
SNES classic never had stock issues thankfully.
The PS Classic can be greatly improved with the 8bitdo adaptor for a DS4 and access the emulator menu.
Rainbow Six is a pretty good game but I can't imagine playing it on the Playstation.
Same here. I have fond memories of all 3 games listed in the "Who has fond memories of Toshinden, GTA, Rainbow Six?" quote, but I didn't play any of them on the PS1 at the time. I played Toshinden on Saturn first then later PC, and the other 2 games on PC. I understand the inclusion of Toshinden, but the original GTA and Rainbow Six have so many ports to so many different platfforms that it seems like an odd choice for a PSX mini system.
In all honesty, to be completely honest, in the merit of honor, you guys make every other Friday great. Not gonna lie....
Fridays are our favorite holiday.
For real though
@@GameSack you guys make Saturday nights great also!
'The jump button is left to the action button, and it just isn't right'. Clever 😁

You paid $99 for the PlayStation Classic? Sucker born every minute, they saw you coming. All kidding aside, I was one of the lucky ones that got theirs from Target for $35, well worth it, now that you can mod it so easily.
Yes you can even use a DS4 now if you buy the 8bit Do adapter

great video.. I wish I had bought an NES classic when they were still making em new
Whew. That PlayStation mini console....... What a joke. Sony phoned that one in, so hard.
It took all their stock in MCI, but they did it
fearanarchy
Well played.
I bought a NES Classic when it came out, then I stuck in on a shelf and never opened it - I figured I'd keep it around for years and then sell it in the future and be rich. Instead I heard the rumor they were going to make more so before the news spread I went to eBay and sold it for $220, then I used that money to buy another NES Classic and a SNES Classic.
Why would anyone pay 220? My raspberry pi was cheaper and runs both nes and Sega games. Does a better job than the c64 mini as well as it supports keyboards and I'm not held to assholes trying to to look for a quick dollar because they have such low paying jobs they need to rip off true fans.
The C64 rom hack intros are some of the best music. Hell I have a USB drive of just the music to those hacks.
Yes Dave, I do have fond memories and find myself coming back to the PS1 version of Rainbow Six from time to time. Once you learn the controls and how to play it properly, it's a great game. The PC original is obviously the complete package, but the Playstation version is an enjoyable experience.
Same for Battle Arena Toshinden, but the Remix version for the Saturn, as it was one of the first 3D fighters I played against my brother and while the gameplay was lacking even then, we found ourselves having a blast with the clunky animation, voiceovers and specially the ring outs. This is also true for games like Mortal Kombat 4, WWF: Wretlemania - The Arcade Game, NHL 97 and so on.
