Karnov at 14:00. You're welcome viewers of this video.
"When you do this nothing happens at all. So don't do this" classic game sack
Yet another in depth and helpful review of a piece of pretty darn cool hardware. Thank you guys for taking the time to make videos like these! They're fun and just so happen to be informative!
The production and quality of this channel just blows me away, top job guys!
You'd think considering that it costs 500 bucks, that they'd make the cartridge slot more stable.
+Tattle Boad It's like when you see the best supercar in the world... which loses all wheels at the first turn.
No shit eh?
I was pretty surprised they could blow the cartridge out of position. That's kinda crazy.
Once you get it to work, it works fine the whole time. Just gotta find the right position.
So fucking what? It's still unaccecptable that that it could happen let alone happen on a system that costs 500 fucking dollars.
i love you guys, i hope you never stop making this videos, ever.
2am and i was just about to head to bed, I love you game sack!
been watching your reviews for a few years now.you guys deserve more subs.
Nothing in this world excites me more than a new Game Sack video appearing at the top of my youtube feed
Nothing? You must live a pretty dull life then.
Gotta make a new account every time you make a shitty comment? ;)
I must then too
It's unreal how good your content is. Thanks for putting this review out.
You guys deserve way more subs.. just saying
ThaRealest4life They gotta upload more, especially during the day time. But they are busy guys sadly
It doesn't really matter when you upload in regards to retro game reviews, as the laws of analytics don't apply. Subscribers and social media followers will catch up within a few days, and nobody expects two, ten minute videos a day of fast edit vlogs and annoying screaming let's plays with arrows to boobs in a thumbnail and whatever other bullshit cheap tactics others use. It's old Nintendo, not Five Nights of Freddy Got Fingered by PewCowPie.
AlucardsQuest No UA-camr is immune to the fact that people who work and/or go to school are usually not up at this time and are too lazy or constantly forgetting to scroll far back enough in their feeds to see videos like this alot of the time. No youtuber is immune to losing viewership due to long periods between uploads either. People like us are dedicated as fuk but we don't represent the majority of people that quickly move on in a blink of an eye. There used to be lots of ppl I loved watching but when they came back after long periods without uploads, I just wasn't interested anymore.
Everybody always says that for the good channels. Listen. The most popular channels like pewdepie have way more subs. But that doesn't mean it's a better channel. Mass appeal does not make for cool channels, it makes for super lame mainstream channels. Having a smaller sub count is a sign of a good channel unfortunately. Blame the mainstream mouthbreathers.
I partly agree with you, and him(her?). I do believe that a vast majority of channels with high user subs tend to pander toward the fans, and they pump out more videos to appease them, which makes the quality of each video suffer. That being said, there's nothing wrong with having a high user sub count as long as the producers of the content stick to their guns and keep doing what THEY want to do, rather than what the fans want.
A good example that is video game related would be AVGN. His user sub count went through the roof, but he felt pressured to do more and more episodes faster and faster. While that's nice to have a steady stream of content, he made some pretty terrible reviews/videos because of it. I believe he noticed that and slowed his production schedule way down, and did some more easily accessible content (James and Mike Play, etc.) that is a lot easier to create to hold people over for the next video showcasing the main appeal of the channel.
Great video guys! Glad to see these older consoles getting the much needed love they *deserve*. If I ever have kids, you better believe they'll start out with the classics *first* if only to give them prospective.
AVS, for the money ($185), is the clear winner for me.
All I needed was for my NES carts to look and play great on my 55" HDTV. Mission accomplished !
and I took the extra $300 I saved from not buying an Nt Mini and bought a brand new Nintendo Switch with the money. :)
Thank you for producing this show guys. It really brings me back to 1996.
1986, you mean?
Oh my goodness the ending was excellent keep up the good work guys
Loved that AVGN reference at the end. XD
Very Great Video!!!
I found out they were making this thing shortly after getting my AVS. Really wish i could have got the Nt manly for the Analog out, but the other features like playing roms from an SD card is pretty awesome
I bought the NT Mini and absolutely love it. I also think it's not for everyone but if you really want the best way of experiencing NES/Famicom, this is it. I also have an AVS and Hi-def NES, because I wanted to compare them, and the NT mini really just blows the others out of the water, in my opinion. The hi-def NES has sound accuracy problems and some very popular games trigger a bug in the NES PPU that causes random corrupt scanlines, but is otherwise good. The AVS has very limited picture options and I had compatibility issues that were fixed with beta firmwares, but then in the betas my Everdrive had issues with it and the menu randomly corrupts itself.. krikzz just told someone who asked about it to use a real NES.
And now I have no problems running anything straight off the sd card or cartridge slots in the NT mini on any of my tvs. No corrupt scanlines, no incorrect sound, no compatibility issues I've found.. the resolution and scaling options are great for any tv/monitor, and there are tons of other consoles kevtris is adding every week with no signs of stopping soon. the mapper support of the NES core blows the Everdrive out of the water, even supporting weird bootleg games like Mortal Kombat 3 or Pokemon Yellow for NES!
Excellent episode, i love that ending.
That pal support makes this super tempting, because of the pal region variant systems and having to buy one of each.
I love your videos. You guys are smart and also very funny, i have to laugh out loud several times almost every episode. And i allways know a little more about gaming after watching your content. Great work!!
I ate some chicken taquitos earlier, and now I have blast processing, too.
I want some taquitos.
I read this while eating taquitos. Mega power!
I had a sardine and pickle sandwich and now I am a sega genesis
Ass!
You guys are *killing* it lately!
Great review, as expected :D
Excellent review, and a great episode!
this is a excelent review, good job
So much aaaasssss!
Cybil Bennett does have a lot of ass. Mmmm...
I have been a sub for quite some time and I love the content and channel , but I have got to say I have never laughed so hard until I saw joe ranting into that mic! Comedy gold , keep up the great work
That spinning triangular aperture effect with focus transition is like eye candy. and that fish-eye to normal cam shot of the board is pretty neat. Some requests if you cover more GBA games: V-Rally 3, Ekks vs. Sever, and hot wheels stunt track challenge.
Thank you so much for this great review! I got it at launch and threw it in the corner after I had problems getting RGB to work. Monoprice wants 60 USD to ship stuff and the Analogue manual has errors in the pin out section of the manual. Now I have the energy to try again =) Thanks, you two guys! =)
hey Ben!
i was scrolling through the comments to find the answer to a question you might have actually:
is it possible to play( for instance) SMS light gun games on the analogue NT using the NES zapper?
@@einherrjar In the video they said no.
I always love a fresh sack.
Vomitron supplying some NES awesomeness background music hell yes
On something that costs $500.00 the carts shouldnt wobble. Really no excuse for that.
Wow I LOVE the music you guys used for the credits, I assumed it was "Xevious - Xevious Hurry" from the ending titles but I couldn't find info about it anywhere. Anyone know where is it from? Or who did the arrangement? Anyway, I love your reviews of consoles like this one, I didn't even know it existed.
Love the random death metal blast beat when Joe was taking about choosing your favorite color
I laughed so much. Great review guys!
Fc twin, circa 2007 was a godsend for my retro gaming back then.
nice video guys, you never fail to make my sunday better.
6:15 Joe has outdone himself with fantastic humour. I'm just pissing myself laughing.
Awesome video, you guys really do an amazing job!
The skit in the end made my day xD
That custom firmware sounds awesome, especially for game gear and fds!
This is the best show on UA-cam period!!!
I like every game sack video because it's game sack. Nuff said
great review! lol I didn't realize the neogeo controller was the same connector as the fami expansion port
Loved the review! A couple of extra details if I may. Kevtris is not only the person who jailbroke the device, he's also the main engineer for it. So you could argue the jailbroken firmware is actually more official than the one provided by Analogue (which is also made by Kevtris). He also added SMS lightgun functionality to his To Do list during a stream with RetroRGB. Expansion sound chips are automatically detected and enabled when playing roms with headers from the SD slot. He's putting a lot of work on the cores since he will reuse them for his Zimba 3000 console which is another FPGA system he's planning to release soon, that one will be capable of 16-bit stuff and possibly even more. Finally, his nickname comes from a puzzle game he created, that's why it sounds like Kevin and Tetris.
What a great review! You answered all questions I could possibly have come up with. I think I'll buy one later. Also, great to see the Exasperated Gamer again! But where is Bob Cornhole?
dope. never heard of this till now, I'm sold
the heavy sensitive of how clean the cartridge has to be in kinda turn off. I remember how hard it use to be to get a game to work on my original NES this seems more of a hassle
Love the AVGN reference at the end
Another great episode thank you Game Sack
Love the AVGN reference at the end, lol
when he first lifted it up to the camera before saying what it was, i thought he was holding a neo-geo game. no joke.
Great review
Awesome video!
In the timing section where they were testing the lag, the marvelous, perfect, and great is a dance dance revolution reference
SG1000 was released in New Zealand /Australia and the SC3000, which plays the same games was also released in Europe. I have a PAL version.
HDMI port i think is the only feature that appeals to me personally. Im still happy with my original NES!
I love the skit at the end, so funny
Still the only real review for the Nt Mini that I have seen. Liked the parody at the end, too. 22:22-22:42. After ten seconds, I couldn't help but shout "Stop making that hand gesture!"
The sg1000 was also released here in New Zealand as the Grandstand :) I can barely find anything about them online but I played one once as a kid :)
never mind, it was the sc3000 aparrently
Vomitron!!! Gotta love the ability to use vgmusic without getting dinged for the original songs :D
I watched that vid for like 10th time at least, and I'm always impressed how thorough this review is ,)
man you guys crack me up, great comedy!
Looks cool, but soo expensive 😲 Glad you used my Phatasy Star track there 😄
waiting for a Game Sack episode for 2 weeks is just like skipping time. watch a few dozen epidoes after the new one comes out and its already time for another new episode ( this is not rly muchof a hate comment coz I and others know how hard living in youtube's middle tier and to produce episodes ranging from 25 mins to 45 mins must be exhausting) and to Joe, Dave and Jen of Game Sack, keep up the gud work!!! =D
Also would you ever think about making an episode based on 24+bit/ arcade STG's(shooter)?
Fucking love the sack and the videos that come out of it. Great sack in general you guys have.
oh god i love the ending skits
1:45 Still the funniest thing I have ever seen on this channel.
Nothing better than some Sunday morning Sack. :D
So glad the exasperated gamer is back! Asssssss!
You guys are awesome!
It cost more than modern systems nowadays .
Sure... they have to make benefit of it... nowadays it's not uncommon to loose money by selling consoles and trying to recapture it with game sales... I think Microsoft lost approximately 100 USD every time a Xbox was sold... For that reason that's not the best comparison.
The loss leader era was back when they all had proprietary architectures. Ever since they standardized on X86 (really X64) they're no longer losing money on every console sold.
+CAHSR2020
LOL, please stfu little kiddo, you know nothing so stop talking.
Oh look, somebody's dumb shit brat is here to tell the adults how life really works.
I Love your work guys
Equipped with blast processing lol, I want that shirt.
LOL for Joe as the AVGN there at the end
That AVGN reference in the end though!
Amazing music selection this episode. You should make a Game Sack Soundtrack. I would buy it.
Hey Game Sack, another great episode. Always good to see you guys add stuff like hardware reviews to your repertoire. Do you plan to release any more Blu-rays? Thanks for all your great videos.
Its getting hot in here. I think ill take my kippah off
Vargavinter I saw Joe answer this in the comments, last video. Apparently the new Blu Rays are in the process of being printed. So, soon.
I pretty much live for Game Sack videos.
23:02 David is such a chill person
loving that metal Zelda dungeon music
Nice t-shirt, Joe!!
Props for music from Jackie Chan's Action Kung Fu. It's one of my favourite NES games ever and I think it's criminally overlooked.
Dr Aidennwitz I agree it's a great game. I always liked the TG-16 version a little more.
would be awesome to see these cores on the AVS! I already have an AVS so that'd be awesome :)
Oh goodie, new Game Sack episode. :)
FYI 31.6 ounces = 0.895844931 kilograms
Yeah but really that could be rounded up to 0.895845 kilograms.
depends whether you use Troy- or Avoirdupois-Weight
I think 0.9kg is a bit easier to remember.
no shit
The fuck is a "kilogram" ? Some Commie Pinko way of doing math?
One minute in and Vomitron's amazing Zelda cover kicks in 10/10 whole video thumbs up \m/
EDIT: Ahhh the whole video has Vomitron covers throughout :3
I love the vomitron sound track
Thanks for being the best channel on youtube.
Well, the n64 is shit?
I love the version of the over world theme from Zelda in the background
For $500 I expect perfection
Perfection is impossible.
+Jack The-Ripper
Perfection is impossible? Exhibit 1: The Dreamcast.
absolutely, you could buy 2 ps4s for that money. Geez
lol the Dreamcast is far from perfect.
+OldGraFX
It isn't, it is perfection.
Free internet + free online play + great games + best ports + free dlc + games keep coming out for it
The SG-1000 was also released in New Zealand as the 'Sega 1000'. I heard rumours of an Australian version, but I can't confirm that one.
You guys make the best reviews of the world in my opinion, I love retro, it would also be very cool to see you guys making reviews for newer titles, like Breath of the Wild? :)
I pre-ordered this last year because I missed out on the original Analogue. I didn't even know it would play multiple systems.. just bought it for NES alone.
FYI, Kevtris' custom firmware is allowed by Analogue because Kevtris is the developer of Analogue's official firmware as well :P
If i'm not mistaken, he's the one that programmed the FPGA to begin with.
Yes, that's why it's funny tha HE'S the one that has "jailbreaked" the system... which is his own system, lol
FinalBaton well... if he used that on the official firmware, Analogue would be looking at some legal grey to say the least.
If the firmware that allows emulation is an "aftermarket" option of sorts, it doesnt legally bind Analogue anymore.
Pretty smart if you ask me :p
I know all that but it's still funny :)
Quite happy Kevtris got a better system than the Colecofailure to get his cores into :D
Best of your videos ever!!!
You guys crack me up!
i would buy one if they remade it (like their upcoming snes model) with a high grade plastic shell. It will bring the cost way down. Nice review.
25:15 and as our daily special guest there the Angry Video Game Joe :D
