Some of the Red Stripe Studio Pro 112s were made in the USA, I own one. Great AMP.

I bought one of the American made Studio Pro red stripe 112 yesterday. From "Yesterday's" guitar shop. Went in to look at guitars and left with an amp. But I didn't get it for $100!

When I was in the Air Force back in the mid-late 1980s, my buddy used an old Peavey Bandit playing in the bars and stuff doing Bad Company, Led Zeppelin & Lynyrd Skynyrd covers.

the bandit and studio pro are two slightly different 1x12 combo. both are great but they aren't quite the same thing. the studio pro is 65 watts and the bandit is 85. Both are plenty loud, great sounding, gigable, work horse, almost unbreakable amps.

Ron to make this Studio Pro into a bedroom amp put an acoustic guitar preamp in the effects loop. Get a LC-5 acoustic guitar preamp (built in type, circa $12 off the ' bay) it comes with tuner, piezo pickup, both jack and XLR output. Add a jack socket, you need to cut the piezo pickup off the lead and solder the centre cable to hot and the screen to ground on the jack socket and put the whole thing in a box. You now have a graphic eq, presence control, master volume and a very useful tuner. Put it in the loop and you can crank the volume on your clean channel and drop the 'master volume' on the preamp you'll be able to dial in natural dirt with your guitar volume and your pick attack. Turns any amp with an effects loop into a practice amp, bonus is you can run the XLR out to another amp and run two at the same time.( Not tried into a desk, but that should work too).Ian.

Yes I just bought a $25 volume control from Carl's Custom Guitars to run through the FX loop. Easiest/best solution for killer bedroom levels.

Wow! $100 was a great price! Sounds good. Probably changing the volume and reverb pots, like Mike said would allow a finer control over those 2 settings.

What a steal at 100 bucks. The Bandit 112, for solid state amps, its pretty much the standard for 1x12 combos.

Would like to see what you used to cushion that Reverb tank. I just got an Envoy 110 last night with the same problem. Only two screws holding it down.

Ron on that Reverb control, you could try a little spray cleaner in it to see if it's just a bit grimey or glossy and if that doesn't work well enough the other idea I have for you is to up the value of the pot from whatever it is so if it's a 250 make it a 500 if it's a 500 make it a Meg to get more adjustable range on the pot and that might give you a little bit better control

2bikemike well you beat me to it Mike...lol. I was just getting ready to suggest the same thing! Sounds like the pot value is too low. Good luck with it!👍😀
