The Peavey Studio Pro 112 is a Transtube Solid State guitar amplifier built by Peavey in the USA in the 90s, it has a 12" speaker and it's aim is to emulate the tone of a valve guitar amplifier at a much lower cost.
But the Red Stripe version is built in China and the Silver Stripe version is built in the USA, they sound very similar but also different, see which one you like best.
Thanks to this great demo I just grabbed a mint silver stripe for $100.
The silver stripe sounds like that late 1970s to mid 1980s Alligator Records tone.
I have a silver stripe but it is modded, one side has a V30 12, the other has a Red Tonker 12, a very unique sound. Got it for 120-175$ cant remember the exact price but I have had it for 4 years.the price on these amps are going for more than what i paid.
i cant get much out of lads as far as amp comparisons go. a simple distorted chord and let itr sustain would give solid comparison imo
I own both (both with Blue Marvel speaker).
IMO, one of the best solid state amps ever made. I prefer them over any modern solid state or digital modelling amps. Even over many full tube amps.
Both sound great. Maybe, Red Stripe has better clean channel, but dirty channel in Silver Stripe is awesome. More punch, warmth, presence and fuller sound.
Silver Stripe lacks the T-Dynamics control of the Red Stripe, but I don't miss it.
If I would have to choose one of them, I would keep Silver Stripe.
I would agree with that although maybe the clean channel on the silver stripe takes pedals better.

Silver line is old school. Red line is more modern. I prefer the silver line.
Both sound good. You lose the T-dynamics on the silver stripe. It looks like this is one of the red stripes they started making in China, which is what I was searching for since there is one near me for a great price.
Worth getting as they a really good amp and cheap

What is the speaker of the silver stripe?
It is standard but don't know the make, it doesn't look like an Eminence or a Celestion.
