I just bought this exact same machine that would not run. I had to replace the carb, it was in bad shape inside so now it runs like a new one. I put a shut off valve in the fuel line so I could run the fuel out of it before storage. I changed the oil also, NO DRAIN PLUG on these, I had to turn it on it's side and let it run out the dipstick...!
Great comment, thanks. I use a Harbor Freight hand pump to pump the old oil out of the dipstick tube. Apparently, Briggs doesn't expect these engines to last long enough to actually need an oil change....
My carb jets were clogged. After cleaning them it ran great for a little while. 1 week later I try using it again and now it won't stay idling. There are supposedly 2 springs and I don't understand where the other one goes. Mine would also die just as yours did once you pulled the wand for water.
Has anyone had any issues with high idle ? First start this summer I noticed it runs at a fast idle all the time and never goes down. Worked only for first year and never idle down again ?
@@Buckwsr thanks, trying to figure out linkage. starts fine, pumps fine, auto idle funtions , but is disconnected at carb. doesn't want to rev, maybe gov issue? i think springs are kinda butchered (not by me). my carb is a little older i think. thanks
Mine won’t come out of idle down. I pull trigger and it dies . Surges at idle Mouse chewed armature replaced that. Cleaned and gapped plug used Seafoam spray. Then pulled carb and sprayed out with throttle bottle cleaner I need to know the mechanism that actuates the full throttle when you pull the trigger
I've run across this closed gap in a spark plug once and I fiqured maybe somebody else cleaned and dropped it , was the only thought I'd have on this .
What else could it be? Incorrect sparkplug, like too long, that collides with the top of the piston? Debris in the combustion chamber? I really have no idea....
Purchased one of these four years ago from Lowes and I have to say it was a total waste of money because of that idle down crap. Grrr, California and their emissions standards really suck!
Appreciate ya Buck. I’m gonna put some Dew in mine tomorrow and Dew’dat myself.
Wish me Buck Luck! 🍀

The unloader valve on the pump?

When things like this happens really makes one think of a lot of stupid different things 🤔
mine did the same and i cleaned the carb. the main jet was pluged and now is ok
Yes, I fully expected carburetor issues on this machine. Very common for machines that sit long between uses....
Thanks
That Was Good but you didn't show the carb overhaul ???

Where is part 2???😤
Mine is doing this exact thing

next time spray the starting fluid on the air cleaner and put back on ... the power washer will fire up better
looks like plug is shorted out
yup...how in the world does that happen....?
Thx for showing me how to. I got dtufked looking at your long nails lol. Seriously thank you
Guitar player...long nails...hope you got your machine running!
It’s total junk.
