I am a Catholic, trapped in Israel and I agree with everything Father says. I am 77 years old, I don't have the resources to return to the US. My national i.d. erroneously says I'm Jewish but that is protecting me. If my Jewish husband were still alive, I could change it without fear but if I do that, I will be homeless and die in the streets or be deported and face the same fate in the US. My identity in Christ isn't tied to something typed on an i.d. card.

I'm old. I experienced in school what was one year traditional Catholicism, to the next year absolute overturning of traditional Catholicism. One year, we read the lives of the saints & the missionaries, next year we were reading Elie Wiesel, & told Jesus's miracles were illusions, & St Christopher & St Patrick were myths. Just sayin' - we were abused spiritually. I had no idea that somewhere out there was LeFebvre. I was in the desert for many decades, but somehow never lost my faith, deep inside, at least. It is a deeply disturbing read, but "Binding with Briars," published in early 1970s by Fr Richard Ginder shows us, in his own words, that sexualizing the priest hood has been a goal for decades. He states that Jesus meant us to enjoy easy going sexuality as Reform Jews do, that the Church was wrong to teach chastity. He cited "science" like Kinsey & Alex Comfort to back up his own desires as normal. He is not only 'one of the accused' but known to have indulged in sick sex practices which he recorded on film, & died before he was convicted. He cites the Holocaust as the reason the Church needs to completely change, because nothing makes sense in its light. Is it a necessary component to pray the Good Friday prayer of conversion of the Jews together with other believers in a church? I ask because I would probably need to travel almost 2 hours away to do this. Other things being equal I would but there are sometimes obstacles in my way. My elderly mother needs a lot of supervision and I am not always able to find a babysitter for my moderately severe autistic daughter. It would be much more likely to happen in my case if I prayed this prayer at home or by myself in a local Catholic Church.
It is always good to pray, but our private prayers do not have the same efficacy as the public prayer of the Church, the liturgy. God gave us the liturgy, and He is true to Himself, therefore He binds Himself to grant what the Church asks (liturgically) in His Name -- though of course in His time and in His way. So if you are able / willing to travel 2 hours for a vacation or for a wedding, then given there is nothing more important in the calendar than the Sacred Triduum, it is proper that we make every effort to be there. You prayers here, with the community, in a church, on the most solemn days of the year, participating in the apostolic liturgy, will be -- all other things being equal -- much more powerful than private prayers. If in making arrangements to attend a traditional Triduum you find you are obstructed and cannot make it happen, or if duties of state prevent you from attending, then you can have a clear conscience. But the love of God and neighbour compels us to make a sincere and great effort to be there. You and your family have my prayers.

How is guilt acquired? We have original sin, which we inherit. It is a privation of certain graces. For saying "Let His Blood be upon us and upon our children", this obviously does not preclude the conversion of Jews (there have been countless examples through the centuries). So in what way does it apply? I believe that as sin exists in the will, which only applies once someone has reached the age of reason (say, 6 or 7 years old), then it is when one makes a decision against the Crucified Lord specifically in order to adhere to the culture of Judaism (however broadly that is understood), then one makes oneself a spiritual child of Annas and Caiaphas (etc), one assents to joining their assembly, and in this way one incurs the curse. But everyone has freewill and is given the opportunity to convert to Christ. I am open to being corrected about all this.
In the Old Testament we read: "The Lord is patient and full of mercy, taking away iniquity and wickedness, and leaving no man clear, who visitest the sins of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation." (Num 14:18) Whatever else this might mean, it could be that as we observe today, when there is a particular disfunction in a family, it can take a few generations to break the cycle. However, after this Jeremiah, prophesying the New Covenant, said: "In those days they shall say no more: The fathers have eaten a sour grape, and the teeth of the children are set on edge. But every one shall die for his own iniquity: every man that shall eat the sour grape, his teeth shall be set on edge." (Jer 31:29-30) This means that each person will be judged for their own sins. Which I think fits in fine with our discussion above about Mt 27:25. Hope this helps.

(Perhaps in this case, it’s the spirit of perfidy. ) The demons influence the descendants by having them tempted specifically to continue to commit the same sin (and more) and so the subsequent generations thus would have “inherited the curse”. The particular judgment for each person is still in the hands of God and only He truly knows how this factors in. Perhaps we keep in mind that the Church has authority over those demons and in praying for their conversion, we exercise that authority indirectly.

Dear Father, thanks for your work! Are you aware of the fact that a few days ago a 157-page detailed critique of your first volume was published by Robert Sungenis ("Why There Will Not Be a Mass Conversion of the Jews")? Can one hope for any fruitful, public exchange between the two of you?
Someone let me know of RS's book a little while ago. I exchanged a couple of friendly emails with RS. Then I read his book, and guess there will be no fruitful exchange between us. This is much less because there are serious problems with the beginning and end of his book, as also with major omissions; rather, the problem is with what runs through the middle of it. The beginning devotes an inordinate number of pages to arguing there will not be enough time for the conversion of the Jews before the end. This argument is as bizarre as it sounds (and irrelevant to my own book, as I do not attempt to predict a timetable for the last mysteries). The conclusion of RS's book is also irrelevant to my book, as he hammers home is much laboured and repeated argument that Romans 11 has been misunderstood. For my own reasons, I avoided much commentary on Romans 11 (though of course I refer to it), because my book is subtitled "The Conversion of the Jews Promised in the Old Testament". The method was to examine the Pentateuch, the Prophets and the Writings in the light of the teachings, miracles and life of Christ. Therefore it is much, much more about the Old Testament than about the Letter to the Romans. As RS omitted to cover (as far as I remember) anything of my main argument of brothers in the Torah then I am surprised he even called his work a critique of my book. Besides making no reference to certain other of the stronger arguments (as far as I remember), he made no reference at all to St Bede's commentary on Tobit, which I think is decisive on the matter. I think these omissions are because RS does not want to believe the Jews will convert, therefore he seems to avoid the stronger arguments. But much worse than all the above, and the reason I have no wish to engage with him unless he changes his tune, is that I have never, ever read a Catholic author who is so disrespectful of the Church Fathers, who expresses himself so haughtily in dismissing them, and even in places insults them. It took a lot of effort to bear this and get to the end of his book. I have heard Protestants show more respect to the Fathers. In conclusion, given my repugnance at the disrespect RS shows to the Fathers (Saints, Catholic heroes and doctors of the Faith, Masters of Holy Scripture), I am in no mood to get distracted by his unfathomable approach. There is instead a real fight to be had with globalists and enemies of the Cross, rather than a fruitless spat over exegesis.

Around halfway through If You Believed Moses Vol. 2. Only time will tell what's on the mark or what's not, but so far it's the most plausible account I've run into of possible answers to a lot of nagging questions, and the series as a whole has been the best insight anyone's given me into the many mystifying stories of the first two-thirds of the Bible.

I converted from Judaism to Catholicism 45 years ago. I am what you could call a conservative Catholic. I always pray for the conversion of my Jewish friends. However, it is not possible to draw conclusions about the entire population of Judaism from responses by a pornographer. These seem to be typical slurs on Judaism. Throughout history Jews had been deprived of the basic freedom that was available to Catholics or Christians. Despite having converted to Catholicism because of believing in the theology and believing in Jesus Christ, it does not mean that I was not frustrated with the history of the Catholic Church in their dealings with Jews. Precisely because they were denied freedoms, they had to become more involved into things that Christians were specifically prohibited from doing, such as a lending money. Jews make up today about 8% of the billionaires in the United States with less than 3% of the population. However, 92% of the billionaires in the United States, including the most prominent ones such as Bill Gates and Jeff Bezos are not Jewish. The exceedingly high net worth population is also overly represented by people of Asian descent as well. George Soros is a terrible man who has Jewish descent but grew up in a nonbelieving family and does not practice Judaism. We have seen what is happening with Islam. Slowly encroaching and "migrating" to the West and insidiously winning the long war that we thought was won at the battle of Vienna in 1683. Prayer is rarely wasted. We pray for all sinners all the time anyway. So, to identify a specific person or persons to pray for is appropriate because all of us are sinners. Our Lady frequently, through mystics and miracles, has asked us to pray for sinners. The people we pray for still have free will. What they freely choose is what will form the basis of their judgment. And, that should fill us with fear because our hearts are rebellious and easily deceived. “…but deliver us from evil”, right? So, it is not too much of a stretch to pray for peace in the Holy Land, peace upon “Israel and the Israel of God”. May God’s grace wash hatred, violence, and murder out of the hearts of all the peoples of the region. May any weapon formed against God’s chosen people fail. May all the peoples of the region distance themselves from people who, in the name of God, advocate the murder, torture, and rape of any other people. May the silent nations of the world condemn the Hamas atrocities and use of civilians as human shields. May God enlighten the nations involved and create a just political solution which upholds the dignity of all peoples. A just solution can never involve the genocide of any people…ever. It would not be just. And, may the Lord Jesus Christ extend over all hearts “the sweet empire of His love”.
Father, are those priests who attempt to "bless" these unions that cry out to Heaven, committing a mortal sin? If so, are not Bishops who expect the priests under their authority to do such things, telling their priests to commit a mortal sin? What about a priest, after doing such a thing, who then offers the Holy Sacrifice in a state of mortal sin? What devastation has been wrought to the Holy priesthood!!!
I believe it is a grave sin. Whether or not it is a mortal sin depends upon whether the priest understands that it is a grave offence and still wills to do it. But given that he is a priest, he has a duty of state to understand moral theology, and what a blessing is. Therefore he cannot claim invincible ignorance. So, yes, it looks like it is pretty much always going to be a mortal sin (one kind of exception would be a priest who is so badly deformed that his worse sins lie in that, rather than in the consequences taken in themselves). All the above applies much more to bishops. They cannot have any excuse. The idea that a priest gives such a blessing because his bishop expects it of him is, I believe, no defence at all for a priest. At the very least, he should simply refuse to do any such act, no matter what happens to him. Better he should explain why to his bishop. What you say about the Mass... I wonder if that is partly why God allowed the novus ordo. The liturgical and spiritual atrocities are somehow less offensive there than they would be in a TLM.
Fr. Mawdsley, not sure if you're already familiar with it, but after finishing your latest book, I started reading The War of Antichrist with the Church and Christian Civilization by Msgr George F. Dillon. It's an interesting read, especially after the various other things I'd read or heard regarding secret societies (including some private revelations), and includes some comments on the role of Jews in those. Not finished yet but it does touch on some questions I had before, e.g. the connection between Freemasonry and Communism. And while it's just an overview, it does have a fair number of quotes and references to make its case. Of course, it's all just a "conspiracy theory"...yet somehow we've seen what it described in the late 1800s in spades ever since.

I am a Catholic, trapped in Israel and I agree with everything Father says. I am 77 years old, I don't have the resources to return to the US. My national i.d. erroneously says I'm Jewish but that is protecting me. If my Jewish husband were still alive, I could change it without fear but if I do that, I will be homeless and die in the streets or be deported and face the same fate in the US. My identity in Christ isn't tied to something typed on an i.d. card.

I'm old. I experienced in school what was one year traditional Catholicism, to the next year absolute overturning of traditional Catholicism. One year, we read the lives of the saints & the missionaries, next year we were reading Elie Wiesel, & told Jesus's miracles were illusions, & St Christopher & St Patrick were myths. It is a deeply disturbing read, but "Binding with Briars," published in early 1970s by Fr Richard Ginder shows us, in his own words, that sexualizing the priest hood has been a goal for decades. He states that Jesus meant us to enjoy easy going sexuality as Reform Jews do, that the Church was wrong to teach chastity. He cited "science" like Kinsey & Alex Comfort to back up his own desires as normal.

Is it a necessary component to pray the Good Friday prayer of conversion of the Jews together with other believers in a church? I ask because I would probably need to travel almost 2 hours away to do this. Other things being equal I would but there are sometimes obstacles in my way. My elderly mother needs a lot of supervision and I am not always able to find a babysitter for my moderately severe autistic daughter. It would be much more likely to happen in my case if I prayed this prayer at home or by myself in a local Catholic Church.
It is always good to pray, but our private prayers do not have the same efficacy as the public prayer of the Church, the liturgy. God gave us the liturgy, and He is true to Himself, therefore He binds Himself to grant what the Church asks (liturgically) in His Name -- though of course in His time and in His way.
So if you are able / willing to travel 2 hours for a vacation or for a wedding, then given there is nothing more important in the calendar than the Sacred Triduum, it is proper that we make every effort to be there. You prayers here, with the community, in a church, on the most solemn days of the year, participating in the apostolic liturgy, will be -- all other things being equal -- much more powerful than private prayers.
If in making arrangements to attend a traditional Triduum you find you are obstructed and cannot make it happen, or if duties of state prevent you from attending, then you can have a clear conscience. But the love of God and neighbour compels us to make a sincere and great effort to be there.

How is guilt acquired? We have original sin, which we inherit. It is a privation of certain graces. For saying "Let His Blood be upon us and upon our children", this obviously does not preclude the conversion of Jews (there have been countless examples through the centuries). So in what way does it apply? I believe that as sin exists in the will, which only applies once someone has reached the age of reason (say, 6 or 7 years old), then it is when one makes a decision against the Crucified Lord specifically in order to adhere to the culture of Judaism (however broadly that is understood), then one makes oneself a spiritual child of Annas and Caiaphas (etc), one assents to joining their assembly, and in this way one incurs the curse. But everyone has freewill and is given the opportunity to convert to Christ.
I am open to being corrected about all this.

In the Old Testament we read: "The Lord is patient and full of mercy, taking away iniquity and wickedness, and leaving no man clear, who visitest the sins of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation." (Num 14:18)
Whatever else this might mean, it could be that as we observe today, when there is a particular disfunction in a family, it can take a few generations to break the cycle.
However, after this Jeremiah, prophesying the New Covenant, said: "In those days they shall say no more: The fathers have eaten a sour grape, and the teeth of the children are set on edge. But every one shall die for his own iniquity: every man that shall eat the sour grape, his teeth shall be set on edge." (Jer 31:29-30)
This means that each person will be judged for their own sins. Which I think fits in fine with our discussion above about Mt 27:25.

It speaks of when a grave sin committed by an ancestor introduces demons within the family line that could have certain influence on the members of that family. (Perhaps in this case, it’s the spirit of perfidy. )
The demons influence the descendants by having them tempted specifically to continue to commit the same sin (and more) and so the subsequent generations thus would have “inherited the curse”.
The particular judgment for each person is still in the hands of God and only He truly knows how this factors in.
Perhaps we keep in mind that the Church has authority over those demons and in praying for their conversion, we exercise that authority indirectly.

Someone let me know of RS's book a little while ago. I exchanged a couple of friendly emails with RS. Then I read his book, and guess there will be no fruitful exchange between us. This is much less because there are serious problems with the beginning and end of his book, as also with major omissions; rather, the problem is with what runs through the middle of it.
The beginning devotes an inordinate number of pages to arguing there will not be enough time for the conversion of the Jews before the end. This argument is as bizarre as it sounds (and irrelevant to my own book, as I do not attempt to predict a timetable for the last mysteries).
The conclusion of RS's book is also irrelevant to my book, as he hammers home is much laboured and repeated argument that Romans 11 has been misunderstood. For my own reasons, I avoided much commentary on Romans 11 (though of course I refer to it), because my book is subtitled "The Conversion of the Jews Promised in the Old Testament". The method was to examine the Pentateuch, the Prophets and the Writings in the light of the teachings, miracles and life of Christ. Therefore it is much, much more about the Old Testament than about the Letter to the Romans.
As RS omitted to cover (as far as I remember) anything of my main argument of brothers in the Torah then I am surprised he even called his work a critique of my book. Besides making no reference to certain other of the stronger arguments (as far as I remember), he made no reference at all to St Bede's commentary on Tobit, which I think is decisive on the matter. I think these omissions are because RS does not want to believe the Jews will convert, therefore he seems to avoid the stronger arguments.
But much worse than all the above, and the reason I have no wish to engage with him unless he changes his tune, is that I have never, ever read a Catholic author who is so disrespectful of the Church Fathers, who expresses himself so haughtily in dismissing them, and even in places insults them. It took a lot of effort to bear this and get to the end of his book. I have heard Protestants show more respect to the Fathers.
In conclusion, given my repugnance at the disrespect RS shows to the Fathers (Saints, Catholic heroes and doctors of the Faith, Masters of Holy Scripture), I am in no mood to get distracted by his unfathomable approach. There is instead a real fight to be had with globalists and enemies of the Cross, rather than a fruitless spat over exegesis.

Around halfway through If You Believed Moses Vol. 2. Only time will tell what's on the mark or what's not, but so far it's the most plausible account I've run into of possible answers to a lot of nagging questions, and the series as a whole has been the best insight anyone's given me into the many mystifying stories of the first two-thirds of the Bible.

I converted from Judaism to Catholicism 45 years ago. I am what you could call a conservative Catholic. I always pray for the conversion of my Jewish friends. However, it is not possible to draw conclusions about the entire population of Judaism from responses by a pornographer. These seem to be typical slurs on Judaism. Throughout history Jews had been deprived of the basic freedom that was available to Catholics or Christians. Despite having converted to Catholicism because of believing in the theology and believing in Jesus Christ, it does not mean that I was not frustrated with the history of the Catholic Church in their dealings with Jews. Precisely because they were denied freedoms, they had to become more involved into things that Christians were specifically prohibited from doing, such as a lending money. Jews make up today about 8% of the billionaires in the United States with less than 3% of the population. However, 92% of the billionaires in the United States, including the most prominent ones such as Bill Gates and Jeff Bezos are not Jewish. The exceedingly high net worth population is also overly represented by people of Asian descent as well. George Soros is a terrible man who has Jewish descent but grew up in a nonbelieving family and does not practice Judaism. We have seen what is happening with Islam. Slowly encroaching and "migrating" to the West and insidiously winning the long war that we thought was won at the battle of Vienna in 1683. Do you believe it is right for the Muslims to claim all of the holy land? What are your alternatives?

Prayer is rarely wasted. We pray for all sinners all the time anyway. So, to identify a specific person or persons to pray for is appropriate because all of us are sinners. Our Lady frequently, through mystics and miracles, has asked us to pray for sinners. The people we pray for still have free will. What they freely choose is what will form the basis of their judgment. And, that should fill us with fear because our hearts are rebellious and easily deceived. “…but deliver us from evil”, right? So, it is not too much of a stretch to pray for peace in the Holy Land, peace upon “Israel and the Israel of God”. May God’s grace wash hatred, violence, and murder out of the hearts of all the peoples of the region. May any weapon formed against God’s chosen people fail. May all the peoples of the region distance themselves from people who, in the name of God, advocate the murder, torture, and rape of any other people. May the silent nations of the world condemn the Hamas atrocities and use of civilians as human shields. May God enlighten the nations involved and create a just political solution which upholds the dignity of all peoples. A just solution can never involve the genocide of any people…ever. It would not be just. And, may the Lord Jesus Christ extend over all hearts “the sweet empire of His love”.
Father, are those priests who attempt to "bless" these unions that cry out to Heaven, committing a mortal sin? If so, are not Bishops who expect the priests under their authority to do such things, telling their priests to commit a mortal sin? What about a priest, after doing such a thing, who then offers the Holy Sacrifice in a state of mortal sin? What devastation has been wrought to the Holy priesthood!!!
I believe it is a grave sin. Whether or not it is a mortal sin depends upon whether the priest understands that it is a grave offence and still wills to do it. But given that he is a priest, he has a duty of state to understand moral theology, and what a blessing is. Therefore he cannot claim invincible ignorance. So, yes, it looks like it is pretty much always going to be a mortal sin (one kind of exception would be a priest who is so badly deformed that his worse sins lie in that, rather than in the consequences taken in themselves).
All the above applies much more to bishops. They cannot have any excuse.
The idea that a priest gives such a blessing because his bishop expects it of him is, I believe, no defence at all for a priest. At the very least, he should simply refuse to do any such act, no matter what happens to him. Better he should explain why to his bishop.
What you say about the Mass... I wonder if that is partly why God allowed the novus ordo. The liturgical and spiritual atrocities are somehow less offensive there than they would be in a TLM.

Fr. Mawdsley, not sure if you're already familiar with it, but after finishing your latest book, I started reading The War of Antichrist with the Church and Christian Civilization by Msgr George F. Dillon. It's an interesting read, especially after the various other things I'd read or heard regarding secret societies (including some private revelations), and includes some comments on the role of Jews in those. Not finished yet but it does touch on some questions I had before, e.g. the connection between Freemasonry and Communism. And while it's just an overview, it does have a fair number of quotes and references to make its case. Of course, it's all just a "conspiracy theory"...yet somehow we've seen what it described in the late 1800s in spades ever since.
