I am an Armenian born in Iran Teheran in 1971 and I moved to Los Angeles when I was 12 years old. I respect and love this Rabbi because back home when I was kid till I moved to America, we had a older Jewish couple as our next door neighbor and for me they were Grandparents that I never had from my mothers side, and as a 7 years old till 12 till we moved out of the country I use to come home from school and they will take care of me till my parents will get home from work, and they were real Jewish people with the same ideology as this rabbi. The zionists have really caused a lot of pain and suffering for the real jewish people.

We have been immensely proud of the accomplishments of the local and the immigrant Jews, several generations of my own family, who have built the state of Israel, with blood and sweat. Since the establishment of the state of Israel, all of us, residing everywhere in the world, are feeling more secure, because we have a national homeland.
I am allegedly of a certain lineage, a Holocaust historian, and basically a pretty nice guy. After a hassle, I moved away from the university after having a few ribs broke by an attacker in the dark--etc., etc. Moved in with a nice older Jewish couple and rented from them. They were adamant that they had nothing to do with at least part of the system here. I think it behooves everyone in the long run to focus upon acceptable actual behavior and not group identity. Bad guys use race and group identity to hide behind and rationalize the unpardonable; just like bullies use group dynamics (contagion) to commit wrongful acts: the inexcusable.

Thank you Rabbi Shapiro for clarifying this subject! After more than a century's worth of propaganda it is impossible to make any sense of it without looking into the root of the matter. Rabbi Shapiro does it brilliantly. Read his book "The Empty Wagon" for further details.
I just ordered Rabbi Shapiro’s book-empty wagon. I’ve been listening to Rabbi Shapiro’s talks as I’ve been able to find them. I’ve also been relooking at many of the names mentioned in helping bring about the return to Israel. So many eye opening things. I keep returning to the Old Testament to read. The old is in the new and new in the old.

I am about two weeks learning the history of Zionism and some deeper background on Palestine with my own background in history and civilisations in a broader view.
This is real facts don't care about your feelings brutal truth. I listened to Imam's and Orthodox Rabi, even secular scholars, say the exact same things regarding historical facts and added so much from their religious perspectives. I understand much better now. I think there is issues now in these times where Jews in general may be perceived negatively by some people for the actions of Zionists.

I have listened to some of the top scholars in the world on this subject. Noam Chomsky, Norman Finkelstein, ilan Pape, Gabor Mate etc. But Rabbi Yaakov Shapiro brings so much more to the table. He brings clarity to an issue which has puzzled millions of jews and gentile alike, for many years. A brilliant man with an equally brilliant mind.
I can’t believe in 2024 can believe that there is God who tells them you are my chosen sons ???? Who would want that God ??? I’m an atheist (a Marxist) but I can say that the world would be a better place with more Rabbi Shapiro and less Ben Shapiro.
(I would have liked to hear his opinion on the different strands of Judaism. From my superficial understanding and what he said, the differences in their religious practices is irrelevant so long as they follow the 613 commandments. Is that right?)

I really like this Rabbi. WHEN he spoke about the sacredness of the land, my ears really perked up because I have written in my comments that that's ONE thing no one ever discusses. THIS SACRED LAND is being desecrated with bombs and hate and cruelty. I do believe in the power of the land and the sacredness of land.
I was there in the 80s when there was relative peace and I could still feel the Holiness of place. I do NOT want to go back as long as it is a Zionist State-- full of violence and hate and killing and sadistic treatment of another group of people because it will no longer be holy. I actually do have a very great degree of spiritual sensitivity-- if you will-- to the land.
One place that stands out in my mind where I could feel the land was happy and holy is Hawaii. In their philosophy and way of being, they HONOR their land, just as the Native American peoples honored their land.
The zionists have desecrated the Holy Land and it is a Holy Land of THREE faiths and as a Christian I feel violated. AND I also feel angry because I CANNOT go back and it is being destroyed while Christians do NOTHING.
I am a Roman Catholic and when I found out that Catholics are NOT in favor of the creation of the zionist state,I thought-- YES, SO IT IS. AND yet I'm told as an American Christian, I am supposed to be. I also felt guilty when I learned that the Christians were 30 to 1 in terms of numbers vis-a-vis the Jews and without the millions of Christians giving money and forcing their legislators to vote always in favor of the zionist state, it would NOT be.
After reading Miko Peled's book THE GENERALS SON, I REALLY learned the power of language as regards this problem and that we need to take back the language. He calls it the "zionist state" and the people who live there "zionists". I do NOT use the word Jews and I do NOT use the word Israel, hence I actually am in solidarity with Palestinians before they were forced to recognize the zionists state, the so-called Israel, because I do NOT.
Recently the American Congress passed a law that if YOU'RE anti-zionist you are anti-semitic and I have realized now-- after writing this comment --that if I went to court, I would prevail because I would say I am a Roman Catholic and we do NOT and we NEVER did recognize a Zionist State because OUR holy book does not. I just realized I am safe in my own country-- which I haven't felt for some time --because it is a land of law & the law is behind Catholics who can say with impunity: I do not recognize the state of Israel. I do not recognize a zionist state.
Yesterday I tried to make an appointment with my local priest but I could tell from the receptionist's response to what I've just said which was why I wanted to see the priest, ie to get it confirmed, she did NOT have a clue what i wa talking about. This means he is acting like a sheep and NOT telling his parishioners that Catholics do NOT recognize the zionists state of Israel and we base that on our holy book & our country of birth America allows us to practice our faith.
It is so interesting that in this terrible time, it is mostly but not exclusively but mostly the Jews who are educating me, although there are some Palestinians as well. Right now, I am reading books by Edward Said, a Palestinian who sufered greatly for his thoughts and beliefs but managed to prevail due to his brilliance and due to the-- not yet acknowledged fact-- that America had NOT yet turned from a DEMOCRACY to a AUTOCRACY.

As far as I know, the commandments were given to the 12 tribes of Israel. The so called Jews, terminology didn’t exist at the time of Moses.
You are correct. The term “Jew” didn’t exist at the time of Moses because English did not exist. In Hebrew, jew is Yehudi, which means “Of Judah” which WAS one of the 12 tribes. Jews should be called in English Judahites. It would be more accurate. Per scripture, judah was the most numberous tribe and, generations later, was the tribe of King David and Solomon. After the schism splitting the Nation to the kingdom is israel in the north and the kingdom of Judah in the south, the Assyrian King Sannecherib conquered the northern kingdom. It is believes that the northern Israelites were scattered around the world, hence the origin of the “10 lost tribes” and many fled south and were absorbed into the kingdom of judah. There are both ancient Assyrian and Levantine artifacts corroborating these events in the archaeological record.

MUHAMMAD (PBUH) IN BUDDHIST SCRIPTURES [Dr. Zakir Naik]
1. Buddha prophesised the advent of a Maitreya:
A) Almost all Buddhist books contain this prophecy. It is in Chakkavatti Sinhnad Suttanta D. III, 76: "There will arise in the world a Buddha named Maitreya (the benevolent one) a holy one, a supreme one, an enlightened one, endowed with wisdom in conduct, auspicious, knowing the universe:
"What he has realized by his own supernatural knowledge he will publish to this universe. He will preach his religion, glorious in its origin, glorious at its climax, glorious at the goal, in the spirit and the letter. He will proclaim a religious life, wholly perfect and thoroughly pure; even as I now preach my religion and a like life do proclaim. He will keep up the society of monks numbering many thousands, even as now I keep up a society of monks numbering many hundreds".
B) According to Sacred Books of the East volume 35 pg. 225: "It is said that I am not an only Buddha upon whom the leadership and order is dependent. After me another Buddha maitreya of such and such virtues will come. I am now the leader of hundreds, he will be the leader of thousands."
C) According to the Gospel of Buddha by Carus pg. 217 and 218 (From Ceylon sources): "Ananda said to the Blessed One, "Who shall teach us when thou art gone?" And the Blessed one replied, 'I am not the first Buddha who came upon the earth nor shall I be the last. In due time another Buddha will arise in the world, a holy one, a supremely enlightened one, endowed with wisdom in conduct, auspicious, knowing the universe, an incomparable leader of men, a master of angels and mortals. He will reveal to you the same eternal truths, which I have taught you. He will preach his religion, glorious in its origin, glorious at the climax and glorious at the goal. He will proclaim a religious life, wholly perfect and pure such as I now proclaim. His disciples will number many thousands while mine number many hundreds.'
Ananda said, 'How shall we know him?'
The Blessed one replied, 'He will be known as Maitreya'."
(i) The Sanskrit word "Maitreya" or its equivalent in Pali "Metteyya" means loving, compassionate, merciful and benevolent. It also means kindness and friendliness, sympathy, etc. One Arabic word which is equivalent to all these words is "Rahmat". In Surah Al-Anbiya: "We sent thee not, but as a mercy for all creatures." [Al-Qur'an 21:107]
Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) was called the merciful, which is "Maitri".
(ii) The words Mercy and Merciful are mentioned in the Holy Qur'ân no less than 409 times.
(iii) Every chapter of the Glorious Qur'ân, except Chapter 9, i.e. Surah Taubah begins with the beautiful formula, 'Bismillah Hir-Rahman Nir-Rahim', which means 'In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful'.
(iv) The Word Muhammad is also spelt as 'Mahamet' or 'Mahomet' and in various other ways in different languages. The word 'Maho' or 'Maha' in Pali and Sanskrit mean Great and Illustrious and 'Metta' means mercy. Therefore 'Mahomet' means 'Great Mercy'.
2. Buddha's doctrine was Esoteric and Exoteric:
According to Sacred Books of the East, volume 11, pg. 36 Maha-Parinibbana Sutta chapter 2 verse 32:
"I have preached the truth without making any distinction between exoteric and esoteric doctrine, for in respect of truths, Ananda, the Tathagata has no such thing as the closed fist of a teacher, who keeps something back".
Muhammad (pbuh) on the commandment of Almighty God delivered the message and doctrine without making any distinction between esoteric and exoteric. The Qur'ân was recited in public in the days of the Prophet and is being done so till date. The Prophet had strictly forbidden the Muslims from hiding the doctrine
3. Devoted Servitors of the Buddhas:
According to Sacred Books of the East volume 11 pg. 97 Maha-Parinibbana Sutta Chapter 5 verse 36: "Then the Blessed one addressed the brethren, and said, "Whosoever, brethren have been Arahat-Buddhas through the long ages of the past, they were servitors just as devoted to those Blessed ones as Ananda has been to me. And whosoever brethren shall be the Arahat-Buddhas of the future, there shall be servitors as devoted to those Blessed ones as Ananda has been to me"."
The Servitor of Buddha was Ananda. Muhammad (pbuh) also had a servitor by the name Anas (r.a.) who was the son of Malik. Anas (r.a...) was presented to the Prophet by his parents. Anas (r.a...) relates: "My mother said to him, 'Oh Messenger of God, here is your little servant'." Further Anas relates, "I served him from the time I was 8 years old and the Prophet called me his son and his little beloved". Anas (r.a...) stayed by the Prophet in peace and in war, in safety as well as in danger till the end of his life.
i) Anas (r.a.), even though he was only 11 years old stayed beside the Prophet during the battle of Uhud where the Prophet's life was in great danger.
ii) Even during the battle of Hunain when the Prophet was surrounded by the enemies who were archers, Anas (r.a...) who was only 16 years old stood by the Prophet.
Anas (R) can surely be compared with Ananda who stood by Gautam Buddha when the mad elephant approached him.
4. Six Criteria for Identifying Buddha:
According to the Gospel of Buddha by Carus pg. 214:
"The Blessed one said, "There are two occasions on which a Tathagata's appearance becomes clear and exceedingly bright. In the night Ananda, in which a Tathagata attains to the supreme and perfect insight, and in the night in which he passes finally away in that ultra passing which leaves nothing whatever of his earthly existence to remain.' "
According to Gautam Buddha, following are the six criteria for identifying a Buddha.
i) A Buddha attains supreme and perfect insight at night-time.
ii) On the occasion of his complete enlightenment he looks exceedingly bright
iii) A Buddha dies a natural death.
iv) He dies at night-time.
v) He looks exceedingly bright before his death.
vi) After his death a Buddha ceases to exist on earth.
i) Muhammad (pbuh) attained supreme insight and Prophethood at night-time.
According to Surah Dukhan: "By the books that makes thing clear ? We sent it down during a blessed night." [Al-Qur'ân 44:2-3]
According to Surah Al-Qadar: "We have indeed revealed this (message) in the night of power." [Al-Qur'ân 97:1]
ii) Muhammad (pbuh) instantly felt his understanding illumined with celestial light.
iii) Muhammad (pbuh) died a natural death.
iv) According to Ayesha (r.a.), Muhammad (pbuh) expired at night-time. When he was dying there was no oil in the lamp and his wife Ayesha (r.a.) had to borrow oil for the lamp.
v) According to Anas (r.a.), Muhammad (pbuh) looked exceedingly bright in the night of his death.
vi) After the burial of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) he was never seen again in his bodily form on this earth.
5. Buddhas are only Preachers:
According to Dhammapada, Sacred Books of East volume 10 pg., 67:
"The Jathagatas (Buddhas) are only Preachers."
The Qur'ân says in Surah Ghashiya: "Therefore do thou give admonition, for thou art one to admonish. Thou art not one to manage (men's) affairs." [Al-Qur'ân 88:21-22]
6. Identification of Maitreya by Buddha:
According to Dhammapada, Mattaya Sutta, 151:
"The promised one will be:
i) Compassionate for the whole creation
ii) A messenger of peace, a peace-maker
iii) The most successful in the world.
The Maitreya as a Preacher of morals will be:
i) Truthful
ii) Self-respecting
iii) Gentle and noble
iv) Not proud
v) As a king to creatures
vi) An example to others in deeds and in words".

I'm a zionist. This was hard to watch to but I sat through and listened to the whole interview. I think the only way we can find peace is by having the willingness to listen to one another even if we disagree. Many of the things Rabbi Shapiro said I find difficult to understand. His warped view of history is far from mainstream but nonetheless I wish him the best. Perhaps, despite his anti-jewish sentiments, he may inadvertently share the truth of Hashem with people who would otherwise be to opposed to hearing the same words from a typical Jew (most of us are zionist). Great podcast, first one I have seen. I googled the Rabbi after having heard him talk on Katie Halper's platform. I will dig more deeply into your library. The Rabbi is an obvious spiritual leader who transmit his love to God/life in every sentence, truly an admirable person who I could listen to for hours. I would love to hear his thoughts on the Meir Kahane and his posthumous destructive influence on the land, culture and people.
Just as you don't like to be falsely identified as the "Jews" that don't keep the Jewish laws & customs, many of us Christians don't like to be falsely identified as the "Christians" that don't keep the10 commandments & teachings & customs of our Holy Book & Messiah. I can speak for myself & my church, and we dress modestly, obey & observe the Sabbath & feast days, we don't eat prohibited meats or believe that it's okay to lie, cheat & steal, etc.... the only difference being that under the new covenant, we can repent of these things, as we have His final sacrifice as our covering.

I like and admire this kind of definition 9f Judaism. It makes sense to be recognized as a religion rather than a race.
As an Iranian, I am proud of a being with jews for more than 2500 years. Some say they are more iranian than other iranian ethnics.

Jesus made it clear that we are one in Jesus Christ. This means if we have a pure heartbeat and truly believe in God, we can all be saved...it doesn't matter about the religious beliefs of all about loving and obeying the Commandments and Law of God. We all must live together in this world.
I am a Muslim, according to reading, Jewish is the oldest brother of Muslim with much more strictest rules.

My 2nd cousin from Italy married an American Jewish woman & immigrated to the US. She converted to Roman Catholicism.

She divorced my cousin & took all 3 children back to her home state.
My cousin only sees his children a few times a year.
