A few people are asking that. God willing, I will get around to laying out some concerns in a video (but I am mindful that I don't know much and I have zero authority). Meanwhile, if you read the text from Luisa's writings featured at 43 mins in this video (from her Diary, Vol.9, 19 Aug 1910), it leaves me confounded how anyone can think this stuff is from Heaven. It is just like Mohammed's suspicions of the spirits who visited him. It is altogether horrible. I cannot think of any inspired book or any saint or any approved apparition which involves such material. [I'll see if I can copy and paste it here in a minute.] I don't get it with so many so-called modern 'devotions'. We have Holy Mass and the Sacraments, we have Sacred Scripture, the writings of the Fathers and lives of the Saints, we have the Holy Rosary, approved litanies, devotions to the Sacred Heart and the Immaculate Heart, the Nine First Fridays and Five First Saturdays, plus so much which ties in with the calendar that is of long custom and wholesome. All these seem to reinforce each other, build on each other, integrate with each other. Of course the Church is infinitely fruitful and new things can be expected to arise. But when they throw themselves centre stage and demand all one's attention and claim to be a new key for salvation, I find that beyond weird. It's not my place to tell anyone to avoid or to follow the DW. But I think it smells very suspicious.
Does Catholic instinct draw us into these writings, or repel us from them? (I am profoundly repulsed by them.) From Luisa's Diary, Diary, Vol.9, 19 Aug 1910: "Then, the following day, again, I found myself outside of myself, inside a garden, and I was following the via crucis [way of the cross]; and while doing this, I found Jesus in my arms. As I arrived at the eleventh station, blessed Jesus, no longer able to resist, stopped me, and drawing His mouth near mine, He poured something thick and liquid into it. The liquid I was able to swallow, but the thick part would not go down, so much so, that when Jesus moved His mouth from me, I had to pour it to the ground. Then I looked at Jesus, and I saw that a liquid, thick and pitch-black, was flowing from His mouth. I was frightened very, very much, and I said to Him: “It seems to me that You are not Jesus, Son of God, and of Mary Mother of God - but the devil. It is true that I want You, that I love You, but it is always Jesus that I want, never the devil - with him I want nothing to do. I am content with being without Jesus, rather than having anything to do with the devil.’ And to be more sure, I marked Jesus with the sign of the cross, and then I signed myself. In order to dispel my fright, Jesus withdrew that black liquid into Himself, which was impossible to look at, and He told me: “My daughter, I am not the devil; what you see is nothing but the great iniquities that creatures do against Me, and which I will pour upon them, for I can no longer contain them. I poured some into you, and you were unable to contain everything, so you poured it to the ground. I will continue to pour upon them.”
The late bishop of Trani, Luisa's diocese, said that anyone who says that the writings of Luisa are evil, heresy or wrong scandalize the faithful who follow this devotion. Be careful what you say. Obedience is still needed to be observed.
@ScriptureandTraditionFrJM I have learned a lot from you over the past months since I saw your interview with Kennedy Hall but I believe you are mistaken about this and will look into it a bit more. I believe your views on the Divine Will information from Jesus, as written down by the servant of God, Luisa Picaretta are misguided, potentially by a secondary source that has either miscommunicated or twisted the actual teachings. Any individual passage has to be put in context with the corpus of writings, mystical theology and a correct interpretation that aligns with the teachings of the Church as multiple Vatican censors and bishops have said there is nothing contrary to the faith in these writings. As someone who is also familiar with Kabbalah and other esoteric religions/philosophies, as well as the Divine Will writings (having read all volumes multiple times), I must say they couldn't be further apart from one another. The writings on the Divine Will are fully in line with Scripture and Tradition, fully approved by the Church and recommended by many great saints including St Annibale, St Pio and St Pope Pius X (Pope Pius actually exclaimed that Luisas writings, specifically the Hours of the Passion, were Jesus speaking and should be read on one's knees). I actually just watched a short presentation on the Divine Will specifically for Priests and Bishops and will link it in a follow up comment. I pray you give it a listen and if you are interested in a more full treatise on the matter, I would recommend the book Thy will be done be professor Daniel O'Connor, or the Pontifically approved doctoral dissertation by Fr Iannuzi. I know you have a mind and thirst for truth, and wish to share that truth with other for the glory of God and salvation of souls. You will find no greater outlet for those qualities than from diving more deeply into the verifiable and true life and writings of Luisa on God's Will.

Father, I'm reading both volumes of "If You Believed Moses" and am learning so much. My problem is summing up in a paragraph or two for those Catholics that tell me bombing Gaza is somehow okay because "God gave Israel to the Jews or that He will bless them that bless the Jews"? What is a succinct response to that? Also it seems to me like Catholics are somehow "neglecting weightier matters of the law" in blindly supporting Israel's aggression but I can't communicate that idea. I'm surprised that Catholics who attend the TLM even blindly support Israel and its actions. What is a response to "God gave Israel to the Jews" and what is a response to Catholics trying to justify this mass bombing? What might the Lord say? Is support of Israel and looking the other way at treatment of Palestinians hypocritical?

I'd like to provide a little history about Fáima, Portugal. It was not named after Mohammad's daughter (as a lot of Catholics believe). It was named after a Moorish princess named Fatima who converted to the Catholic faith after marrying a devout Catholic Portuguese Duke. She was christened Oureana and died young. The Duke was so heartbroken at her loss, he entered into religious orders and was sent to that region, where he had her remains taken and named the town Fátima after her. Also the first miracle of Fátima happened about 600 years ago on August 13th at the dawn of the battle of Aljubarotta right on the Cova da Iria. The cavalry horses all knelt and Blessed Nuno Alvarez Pereira received an answer that they would have victory against the Castilians in battle though they were outnumbers 10 to 1. On the Vigil of the Assumption, the Portuguese had their victory and held their independence.

People don't understand how to interpret Scripture spiritually because the Catholic Church has failed to teach them. I have been to thousands of Masses and heard thousands of sermons, all of which can be summed up as "Love your neighbor and pray the Rosary." Now we come to a great time of trial, and Catholics are totally unprepared. I have studied the Medieval exegetes who wrote dictionaries of figurative terms understood spiritually. This has exploded my understanding of the figures of Scripture. But this takes work! People must return to the Sacred Scripture and pour themselves into it, guided by the theologians of the Church and a cultivated ability to comprehend the analogies implied in Sacred Scripture.. Barring this, i fear our time will be as the prophecy when people will fall from the faith as unripe figs from a tree in a tornado. I am surprised to find a Catholic Priest who is so clear in his understanding of the Apostolic Faith, which has been largely lost in the contemporary Catholic Church. God has not delayed the conversion of the Jews! Christ came to them first and directly. The Apostles and thousands of other Jews converted at His preaching and laid the foundation for the evangelization of the world. In these two thousand years, countless Jews have converted and been received into the Church. "All Israel" does not mean all Jews. It means all Jews and Gentiles who have been converted. People who look for All the Jews to convert to Christ at the end of the world are dreaming. Neither all the Gentiles nor all the Jews will be converted. Christ Himself asked if He would find faith on the earth at the end.

Scholar Daniel O’Conner, or Benedictine Sisters of the Divine Will are wealths of information. You are redeemed by Jesus. He paid the ransom. The Divine Will book is not necessary to be saved. They are however a window into the tender heart of Jesus. It is no easy task… that I can attest to! Jesus says that all that is necessary is to “desire it and the rest is done” Starting with the book “Mary in the Divine Will “ would be a great start. Blessings❤

I will listen with interest to your concerns with the DW devotion. I’ve not seen or read anything about it that hasn’t left me cold and uneasy. I assume my own unholiness is the likely culprit, as Luisa seems a holy lady and so many attested to this. It may all just be over my head, but it seems quite gnostic. It gives me the same vibe as reading Vasula Ryden years ago, who may also be a very holy person, other locutionists that purport to receive messages. It doesn’t sit right. Makes me seek the shelter of the Rosary.
Back in the 1990s the Congregation for the Doctrine of Faith (CDF) advised that the faithful must not take the messages of Vassula Ryden as divine revelations, but only as her personal meditations. It also advised that in these meditations there are negative elements in the light of Catholic doctrine. Vassula is not a Catholic. I could never understand why Catholics would want to follow her. Vassulas work is about UNIFICATION OF THE CHURCH mainly and not just about the catholic church. Orthodoxe and catholic church needs to be united again. Superceding the order of nature, God became man, remaining what He was, He took on what He was not, without co-mixture nor division'... Our Holy Mother destroys heresy throughout the world, and what you said of the divine will devotion is worth taking into consideration.
I completely agree with you about Protestants. I came back to Catholism because I was fairly alarmed by the amount of humanist, secular and atheist ideas welcome at the Protestants Church. Its very similar to what I have heard from popular Rabbis I watched online. I had no idea Jews and Protestants felt this way.
I have never liked the devotion to the Divine Will. Reading a little bit of it made me question it. It is ambiguous, at times repulsive and pornographic. We should stay away from devotions like that. There's a yt channel that did a few videos on things in Louisa Piccaretti's writings that are contrary to Church teachings. I believe it is the Ascent to Mount Carmel channel. Some of the ideas are very suspicious sounding.

I attended Villa Maria Academy in Buffalo NY. We had "Marriage Class" where some women came in and taught us contraception orders of then Bishop Head. Imagine being taught contraception at a Catholic school! We had abortion discussions. They weren't overtly to promote abortion but what was the point of bringing some boys from the local boys school to share and debate a pro abortion point of view? I was wondering why the sisters were so cold towards these "Marriage Class" teachers. It was only when I began learning more about the faith I figured that out.

So why don't we X all the ecumenical humanly attempts to change God breathed scripture, or even the interpretation. A few people are asking that. God willing, I will get around to laying out some concerns in a video (but I am mindful that I don't know much and I have zero authority). Meanwhile, if you read the text from Luisa's writings featured at 43 mins in this video (from her Diary, Vol.9, 19 Aug 1910), it leaves me confounded how anyone can think this stuff is from Heaven. It is just like Mohammed's suspicions of the spirits who visited him. It is altogether horrible. I cannot think of any inspired book or any saint or any approved apparition which involves such material. [I'll see if I can copy and paste it here in a minute.]
I don't get it with so many so-called modern 'devotions'. We have Holy Mass and the Sacraments, we have Sacred Scripture, the writings of the Fathers and lives of the Saints, we have the Holy Rosary, approved litanies, devotions to the Sacred Heart and the Immaculate Heart, the Nine First Fridays and Five First Saturdays, plus so much which ties in with the calendar that is of long custom and wholesome. All these seem to reinforce each other, build on each other, integrate with each other. Of course the Church is infinitely fruitful and new things can be expected to arise. But when they throw themselves centre stage and demand all one's attention and claim to be a new key for salvation, I find that beyond weird.
It's not my place to tell anyone to avoid or to follow the DW. But I think it smells very suspicious.
Does Catholic instinct draw us into these writings, or repel us from them? (I am profoundly repulsed by them.) From Luisa's Diary, Diary, Vol.9, 19 Aug 1910:

The late bishop of Trani, Luisa's diocese, said that anyone who says that the writings of Luisa are evil, heresy or wrong scandalize the faithful who follow this devotion.

I have learned a lot from you over the past months since I saw your interview with Kennedy Hall but I believe you are mistaken about this and will look into it a bit more.
I believe your views on the Divine Will information from Jesus, as written down by the servant of God, Luisa Picaretta are misguided, potentially by a secondary source that has either miscommunicated or twisted the actual teachings. Any individual passage has to be put in context with the corpus of writings, mystical theology and a correct interpretation that aligns with the teachings of the Church as multiple Vatican censors and bishops have said there is nothing contrary to the faith in these writings.
As someone who is also familiar with Kabbalah and other esoteric religions/philosophies, as well as the Divine Will writings (having read all volumes multiple times), I must say they couldn't be further apart from one another.
The writings on the Divine Will are fully in line with Scripture and Tradition, fully approved by the Church and recommended by many great saints including St Annibale, St Pio and St Pope Pius X (Pope Pius actually exclaimed that Luisas writings, specifically the Hours of the Passion, were Jesus speaking and should be read on one's knees).
I actually just watched a short presentation on the Divine Will specifically for Priests and Bishops and will link it in a follow up comment.
I pray you give it a listen and if you are interested in a more full treatise on the matter, I would recommend the book Thy will be done be professor Daniel O'Connor, or the Pontifically approved doctoral dissertation by Fr Iannuzi.
I know you have a mind and thirst for truth, and wish to share that truth with other for the glory of God and salvation of souls. You will find no greater outlet for those qualities than from diving more deeply into the verifiable and true life and writings of Luisa on God's Will.

Father, I'm reading both volumes of "If You Believed Moses" and am learning so much. My problem is summing up in a paragraph or two for those Catholics that tell me bombing Gaza is somehow okay because "God gave Israel to the Jews or that He will bless them that bless the Jews"? What is a succinct response to that? Also it seems to me like Catholics are somehow "neglecting weightier matters of the law" in blindly supporting Israel's aggression but I can't communicate that idea. I'm surprised that Catholics who attend the TLM even blindly support Israel and its actions. What is a response to "God gave Israel to the Jews" and what is a response to Catholics trying to justify this mass bombing? What might the Lord say? Is support of Israel and looking the other way at treatment of Palestinians hypocritical?

I'd like to provide a little history about Fáima, Portugal. It was not named after Mohammad's daughter (as a lot of Catholics believe). It was named after a Moorish princess named Fatima who converted to the Catholic faith after marrying a devout Catholic Portuguese Duke. She was christened Oureana and died young. The Duke was so heartbroken at her loss, he entered into religious orders and was sent to that region, where he had her remains taken and named the town Fátima after her.
Also the first miracle of Fátima happened about 600 years ago on August 13th at the dawn of the battle of Aljubarotta right on the Cova da Iria. The cavalry horses all knelt and Blessed Nuno Alvarez Pereira received an answer that they would have victory against the Castilians in battle though they were outnumbers 10 to 1. On the Vigil of the Assumption, the Portuguese had their victory and held their independence.

People don't understand how to interpret Scripture spiritually because the Catholic Church has failed to teach them. I have been to thousands of Masses and heard thousands of sermons, all of which can be summed up as "Love your neighbor and pray the Rosary." Now we come to a great time of trial, and Catholics are totally unprepared. I have studied the Medieval exegetes who wrote dictionaries of figurative terms understood spiritually. This has exploded my understanding of the figures of Scripture. But this takes work! People must return to the Sacred Scripture and pour themselves into it, guided by the theologians of the Church and a cultivated ability to comprehend the analogies implied in Sacred Scripture.. Barring this, i fear our time will be as the prophecy when people will fall from the faith as unripe figs from a tree in a tornado. I am surprised to find a Catholic Priest who is so clear in his understanding of the Apostolic Faith, which has been largely lost in the contemporary Catholic Church. God has not delayed the conversion of the Jews! Christ came to them first and directly. The Apostles and thousands of other Jews converted at His preaching and laid the foundation for the evangelization of the world. In these two thousand years, countless Jews have converted and been received into the Church. "All Israel" does not mean all Jews. It means all Jews and Gentiles who have been converted. People who look for All the Jews to convert to Christ at the end of the world are dreaming. Neither all the Gentiles nor all the Jews will be converted. Christ Himself asked if He would find faith on the earth at the end.

Anything on Divine will would be most helpful..there are so many faithful Catholic in private groups studying her writings..I could not get on board for some reason and since we do not need private revelation to be saved I have stepped away but so many of my friends are really into it
Scholar Daniel O’Conner, or Benedictine Sisters of the Divine Will are wealths of information. You are redeemed by Jesus. He paid the ransom. The Divine Will book is not necessary to be saved. They are however a window into the tender heart of Jesus. It is no easy task… that I can attest to! Jesus says that all that is necessary is to “desire it and the rest is done” Starting with the book “Mary in the Divine Will “ would be a great start. Blessings❤

Yes we are not saved by private Revelations. In fact, one would end up in heaven by disregarding all private Revelations. However, true faith is something to do with knowledge (it is simply blind faith on someone or something you don't know) and revelations like Divine Will and others are very helpful to know whom we trust.

I will listen with interest to your concerns with the DW devotion. I’ve not seen or read anything about it that hasn’t left me cold and uneasy. I assume my own unholiness is the likely culprit, as Luisa seems a holy lady and so many attested to this. It may all just be over my head, but it seems quite gnostic. It gives me the same vibe as reading Vasula Ryden years ago, who may also be a very holy person, other locutionists that purport to receive messages. It doesn’t sit right. Makes me seek the shelter of the Rosary.
Back in the 1990s the Congregation for the Doctrine of Faith (CDF) advised that the faithful must not take the messages of Vassula Ryden as divine revelations, but only as her personal meditations. It also advised that in these meditations there are negative elements in the light of Catholic doctrine. Vassula is not a Catholic. I could never understand why Catholics would want to follow her.

I have never liked the devotion to the Divine Will. Reading a little bit of it made me question it. It is ambiguous, at times repulsive and pornographic. We should stay away from devotions like that. I attended Villa Maria Academy in Buffalo NY. We had "Marriage Class" where some women came in and taught us contraception orders of then Bishop Head. Imagine being taught contraception at a Catholic school! We had abortion discussions. They weren't overtly to promote abortion but what was the point of bringing some boys from the local boys school to share and debate a pro abortion point of view? I was wondering why the sisters were so cold towards these "Marriage Class" teachers. It was only when I began learning more about the faith I figured that out.

He had his own disturbed reasons for rejecting the Church. Added to these, he had friendships with kabbalists, and then considerable help from Jews in learning Hebrew. @@WegdesGlaubens I am NOT a scriptural scholar, but nonetheless, I don’t believe it is prudent to begin replacing phrasing such as you have quoted as if they were equivalents in meaning with new phrases, when it comes to inspired writings. It would make more sense to me, in any case, to attempt to know the mind of St. Paul in these matters of great urgency!
How much research has this priest completed on the Divine Will? Danial O. Has a lifetime of research. This sounds like a rant. We all have to do our own research.
Daniel O'Connor has released a very good video refuting Fr.'s claims on Luisa Picaretta. Nobody knows this wonderful Servant of God like Daniel does. I suggest you all go watch it.

We don't do divination. So why the interest in the High Priests Breastplates, you don't have to respond it just piqued my curiosity as l have a background in the History of ideas.
I am not talking about divination, but rather how the tribes of Israel are now emulated thru the apostles.
I attempted to line up tribes with each apostle based on Old Testament scriptures
This relationship in particular helps one to appreciate each apostle as the individuals that they are
they are very explicit about things in the bible... why be vauge about who the chosen people are....
