- Опубліковано 22 лют 2022
- We go through the picture settings on a 42-inch LG C2 OLED TV, which should also be the same on other OLEDs in LG's 2022 TV lineup, and found one surprising change in the [OLED Motion] submenu.

I haven't seen an alert for any recent uploads from you. So glad I got this one. I look forward to 2022 reviews! Thank you my friend!
No alerts in your subscription page section? I always see people complain about this, but I’ve never experienced it.
I yelled so loud that 1 of my eyes popped out.
This is really happening, FINALLY!
lol
Thank you so much for this incredibly helpful video! I really needed this information!
Those stands actually will work quite well with a mouse and keyboard setup. Nice.
So excited for this tv. Pribably gonna buy one day one for a computer monitor.
Do you think the changes made (motion) depend on hardware or could be accomplished bia software?
You already have a review unit! Envious. I won't be able to get one until summer, but I can't wait. Perfect for my video post work
Thank you so much for this video. Very helpful.
I prefer the less fussy layout of the cx menu.
Anxious for that G2 vid and the QD OLED vid.
@HDTVTest can you please make a video for gaming on consoles with the LG C2 please! And thank you.
A video on the colour settings inside Nvidia Control panel would be extremely helpful
Hi Vincent,
which TV would you suggest for my Bar, where the guests watch Soccer? It should be at least 75 Inches. I have a Sony AF9 Oled for my Home Cinema but I think Led is better than Oled for this type of usage in my Bar because Oled has higher Price, high energy consumption and burn in effect.
thanks! Quick question did you go into settings and turn “hdmi deep color” to 4k? Or did you leave that off? When I turn that on most my content is put through HDR.
The Tv Is Gorgeous 💞 Definitely Its Going To be My next Buy
Hi. Is there by chance a video recommending the settings in Game Optimizer like you did for the C1? And thank you for these videos.
Great video 👏👏 keep up the good work 💪
Thank you for all your great videos. Could you make a best lg c2 settings for ps5 video like you did for lg c1. The settings from the c1 video were confusing when I tried to use them on my c2. Thanks
Agree
Were these settings not good for use on the ps5?
Hey Vincent!
Will you be doing a Picture Settings video for the LG C3 as well? Getting mine in a few days and I always follow your tips, trix and settings 🙌🏻
Greetings from 🇸🇪
Thanks for this! Is there a recommended settings for photographers? I use Lightroom and Photoshop alot. It would be good to know. Thank you
Great stuff Vinny.
Waiting for the HFW HDR settings video 😉
Thanks for the video. Do you think this would be good as a computer monitor or a dedicated one like the new Alienware oled would be a safer choice?
Alienware no 4k
Please help, what do you recommend, buy the LG C1 or wait for the LG C2???
I can’t wait to get a the LG 42” OLED as a monitor for my office!
Have fun getting another in 2 years when it's burned out AF! Office work is about the worst thing you can do to these. Unless you seriously hamper your workflow to accommodate for OLED that thing won't last you very long.
Not to mention it's wasted on office work anyway. Some decent LG IPS TV (most other brands are VA) would fit that work better and is cheaper 🤷♂️.
@@Xirtamani Exactly
I intend on doing the same. Not afraid of any burn in myself.
C2 or a90k
@@Dashzer0 Ignore the non-tech-savvy posts above. Anyone spouting "OleD's R baD aS monITorS huR HuR" are stuck half-a-decade in the past. The funny thing is, you rarely see such ignorance on this channel, because if those commenters had actually watched Vincent's videos on that topic, they wouldn't have such dated views...
@@dhess34 yeah tbh I've been running an e9 pretty much non stop for a few years now with no problems. No worries from me.
i tried to set my tv exactly as you did but in some settings you did not specify what the ideal seting should be...for example, what should i set the oled pixel brightness to? you only mentioned you made it low for the purpose of recording the screen for the video but not to what level one should set it
Go to rtings and look at their calibration. They mention for Dolby vision to keep it default. The default brightness for Dolby vision is 100. I forget what they put the hdr content at, but you can see all their settings. Only thing I changed was putting she sharpness down to zero because Vincent mentions he puts it at zero no matter what the content is. Where rtings just mentions to keep everything default on vision. But they're reputable and I've recommended them to others.
I need a review and comparison with the c1 quick!!!!
Could you please do a similar video for gaming settings, mostly for PS5?
Hi TDTV Can i ask if you had the choice of 55G2 OR LGC3 Which tv would you get its going on the wall ? also at same price as of now 24.1.24 cheers James
Can’t wait to add this to my gaming desk set up in bedroom. Will double for streaming from bed. Only thing will be annoying is the stand, will have to get a longer desk lol
When can I order this in US?
Thanks for the info. Looking to replace my bedroom TV with this LG C2 42 inch panel. Amazing that all the OLED demos look so good on my Sony XBR900F50. It’s surly must be my 84years old eyes.
I have a 950g (very similar) and HDR demos look amazing to me too..
It's not your eyes ;)
Enjoy it for $1900
@@josh8oh8 he's 84. What the fuck does money matter at that age?
Exactly, great size for a bedroom , small den ect . Shouldn’t have to buy 77” to get a decent quality TV .
Damn I didn't know 84 year old people watch and comment on UA-cam haha
Hi, i recently purchased the C1 65" - one small question: the remote controller is usually this wobbly and screeching or is it just in mine model?
I need 3 of these on monitor arms for work.
Can i use this guide for the LG G2 ?
Hi, when you change all those settings what's the TV mode under...Vivid, standard, APS, cinema expert etc... thanks..
Thank you.
Does anything changes from previous model to this as for gaming . Thanks
I learned so much from this video, thank you so much Vincent
Hi Vincent, where is that C1/C2/G2 comparison? There seems to be no link at the end of this one and I cannot find the comparison in your list of videos.
All I really care about is the brightness increase and image processing quality comparison. See the difference between last years and this year.
the 42 does not have the evo panel
@@thomasfischer9259 I wasn’t thinking of the 42 more 77in - 85inch comparisons
Love that they kept the same menus from the c1 👍
Appreciate you.
Is super resolution available in game mode or is it just locked to regular or cinema modes?
Is there any way to tell that we are in fact getting the newer WBE panel in the 42 inch model? And not the older WBC?
do you have a video about recommendations for those settings?
wonder if LG sorted their audio lipsync issue? I have a C8 and it's still out.
Setting Trumotion to user=0 helps some, but audio still out a bit
We need the battle with LG C2 against the Alienware QD OLED!!!
No contest.
before that you need to watch this, when it comes to monitors vs tvs:
ua-cam.com/video/3mTV1TOblbA/v-deo.html
@@whiskizyo2067 Exactly. If the Alienware is really not glossy like the rumors said then it is a auto win for LG.
I think LG may have made a mistake in their launch pricing of the C2 42 inch. LG was probably banking on this being bought by a lot of people to be used as a computer monitor/gaming display, but now that the Alienware QD OLED monitor was announced for the same price, I feel most of those potential customers will be steered towards the Alienware if they're strictly looking for a monitor/gaming display. In my opinion the LG will be less optimized for these use cases than the Alienware and that 42 inch TV seems like a bad value for more "television oriented" used cases when the 48 inch exists for the same price and the 55 inch inch C2 for just a few hundred $ more. Considering these things, we might see considerable discounts for the 42 inch if the demand is less than what LG anticipated. Finger crossed.
@@andymofoincross I agree with you about that Alienware QD OLED monitor.
I love smooth motion!
purchased the 55inch c2 and received yesterday , could not understand the swivel stand under the provided stand ,
wanted to lock it ? maybe i can take it out ? not in any other review i have seen , must be a new adition ?
i replaced my 7 year old 55 inch oled curved set 55eg920v which has never missed a beat .
to be honest its a bit brighter and a bit faster but picture quality is similar .
thought i would notice a bigger difference as probably been 7 other models after mine ( every year )
my room is fairly dark so maybe the brightness is not needed as much and never use the speakers as
my sound goes through high end yamaha av receiver .
lg should give a longer than one year warranty with this set , are they saying it might not last too much
longer than that ?
What’s the nits? Is it crushing the C1 with it now having evo panel
Anyone know if there's a settings issue with HDR/UHD not working on LG Oled's with some Amazon Prime content?
Hi Vincent, I just bought a LG C2 65. I can not see the pink tint from the site that would confirm an EVO panel as advertised. Can you confirm which panel I have if from Service Menu, 12. Oled Module Info 2 Shows: 08/40/1/03. It seems the WBE/WBC is not longer showing up in the service menu :(
Vincent will you be outlining your recommended settings for this at some stage?
Do you also have a video for the PS5 settings, or can I just go with your LG C1 video?
3:00 Warm 50 ?! It looks like I have always Flux/redshift activated (I have a 65in C2 ; I suppose it's the same panel) ; and blacks at 50 is a little bit faded, try to lower a little bit
Vincent were you able to take a look at the new game optimizer options? At CES I noticed LG had a video that looked as if they had an option to put an app on screen in picture in picture while in game mode much like Samsung has already where you can pull up a youtube video in the corner while playing I am wondering is this indeed what that was?
On the C1, the web browser can appear as picture-in-picture over any other video source.
I have the sports updates feature turned on for my favourite teams and this initially shows a small overlay with score updates.
Pressing 'more details' then launches the browser in a small window that overlays whatever you were previously watching.
It's a nice little feature that I enjoy using, you can also move it around to different areas on the screen.
Is this what you're expecting? What other apps in particular?
@@ImaginaryWorld I think @Tech With KG is referring to specifically when playing games on game mode that on the C1 it is not possible to have PIP with say youtube mirrored from your phone. Any other setting is fine but when playing games this is not possible but probably the best time to have it so that you can watch gameplay runs with achievements over the top of you playing though your own game. I hope that made sense
@Earthplayer I'm on an Xbox SX. The PIP works on other things but not when on HDMI. Not bothered about VRR being turned off when using PIP as I would be useful Ng it for walkthroughs only and not competitive stuff so VRR is not really needed then. Would be good if Xbox brought back the snap feature or if LG allowed us to mirror my phone into PIP while in game mode
Re the Motion Settings, its often said that dejudder is aimed at low frequency content like 25p. Does that still apply in PAL TV regions which use 50i (in other words, is 50i affected in the same way as 25p by this setting). With broadcast TV showing on my LG OLED B8 the dejudder setting does make a noticeable difference on slow panning shots, but I can't see deblur doing anything when I try adjusting it.
Related question about Real Cinema. Searching about this for this on line rapidly brings up articles related to 60 Hz inputs (3:2 pulldown etc. etc.) but how does this work when presented with a 50i signal. Very confused.
Thanks in advance for any advice.
Hi! I just bought an LG C2 48 inch as a computer monitor, when the computer goes to sleep, the TV shows for a long time: "(1) Please check the power of the external devices and cable connection status.
(2) Press the [c] on your remote to change to another input”
Ask: How do I set the TV to turn off the screen as soon as possible and enter the standby state? thank you!
thanks fo r this!
Can you tell me the audio settings. I have a samsung soundbar paired via hdmi e-arc cable with a lg g2. Is there something in the settings that I need to turn on/off?
Hi . Does the screen seem pinkish when viewing from an angle , whenever the screen is actually greyish/white
No ABL disable options? The screen getting dim during gameplay in dark levels is getting annoying on my 48” on the PC
Hey man, do you still recommend pc mode on a c2 for ps5 in 2023? Thanks!
Now that I've seen this video, some of the settings shown where not on the meu for the LG C2 42 inch that I have, and some were greyed out & not assessible.
At 7:08 of this video in Energy Saving the screen is showing Auto Power off, which is not showing on my LG C2 42 inch.
The software is at 03.21.45 and not sure if I have a defective TV or it's some other setting that I'm missing.
Any ideas?
When will Tv be available on the 🇺🇸? Or if I buy this Tv from the 🇬🇧 will it work properly with my PS5 and streaming apps?
Will use Sony the same panel in the A90K 42"?
Hallo can I use the settings for c1 to my 65c2 for sdr anr and hdr mode?
Finally got a C2 should I turn on filmmaker mode auto start?
Is there a way to reduce brightness level for sub titles similar to logos on LG C2
I just got this and it’s amazing . What’s the best setting for gaming and what’s the best for movies ?
Trying to figure that out aswell! I have the 42 C2
My x900h received an update today saying it has improved VRR. Will you be testing those VRR improvements?
What is film mode deinterlacing? Can you explain please
I have the LG C2 65" for some reason the soundbar has audio. I connect the soundbar to my LG C1 and I get audio output on the soundbar.
Will this 2022 linup finally have gigabit ethernet (and usb 3.0) out of the box?
Hey Vincent, please do a Destiny 2 HDR video. They just updated the HDR controls in the newest DLC and I'm struggling to get an optimal picture on my G1
Vincent, we need more details on the TV! Are you reviewing it?
Where did you get it and how much?
I’ve been waiting to get one of these for use as a monitor… any ideas on how well it would work? There have been plenty of people who’ve used the 48in model as a monitor previously with varying results… hoping the 42 works a lot better due to the size…
I think he got invited by LG to show it.
Yeah he said he was at lg UK headquarters
@@geiers6013, @ThePaulg123, ah ok, I must have missed that in my haste of replying whilst watching the vid!
@@ImaginaryWorld I dont think the C2 is in retail yet, but you can preorder. I think it will be good, because all LG Oleds before were very good for gaming and as a monitor. You could also consider this curved Alienware QD Oled monitor, but I would also prefer the 42"C2.
@@geiers6013 unless you play ps4/switch then is terrible for gaming
Getting conflicting information on PS5 input. PC vs Console input? Also it defaults to Console on auto setup. Seen as PS5 will output 12b RGB 4L8. Does it even support 444 Chroma on PS5?
I didn't see anyone answer this in the comments.
Do you use the same settings for the 55-inch?
When can we expect horizon hdr settings?
So how is the horizon hdr video coming along?
Please Shows More Review of This Product 🙏
I have a problem setting the voice recognition,
it usually tells me that it does recognize my voice, but a few times it works on a few channels.
But if I press the mike and tell it what to do, then it does it, but if I close the TV and tell LG the same order, it doesn't work.
When is the C2 being released? I want to get the C1 on sale
I just want to know if peak brightness is unlocked in sdr gaming.
Hey nice vid thanks!! Why when I change the hdmi input to pc mode the WebOS UI responds reallly really laggy and slow (not games) only the ui works like Sh!t it’s really annoying how to fix this? The pc mode is mandatory for better text clarity but this lg ui being stutter and lag and that destroy the experience! Will be glad if you help me
man, i'm moving to the UK in 2 weeks and I'm going to need a computer monitor. I really want a c2 oled but I don't think I can go without a monitor while I wait for it to release...
Can you please do a best settngs video for C3 SDR, HDR and Dolby vision !
Please
I wonder if I can use any of these settings in game mode over ps5.
Do these settings apply to the 77inch? Thanks
When is this coming out please ?
I'm confused.
For PC use Windows/Gaming.
Should I calibrate the TV using LG or do I calibrate in Windows using autocal? Or both?
I just want the best settings. One for PC use, one for photoshol work and one for PC Gaming! Hole someone can help.
is there antiglare on this screen. seem fuzzy/blurry.. totally hate anti-glare coating on oled
Does this apply to the 65” c2?
Reduce blue light is my favourite setting. Makes using vivid and standard presets comfortable on the eyes
Vivid > all
On the C1. I don't have a problem (unless I'm there for 5 hours or so), so I leave it off.
Are you going to do C2 PS5/XBOX SX videos?
He finally got one
This video shows Peak Brightness off in SDR, while RTings has it on high, which is more accurate?
My big issue with my 55" LG C2 is judder. I try to just keep it at Cinematic Movement for streaming channels, especially HBO max that for some reason judders more than Netflix
I hope the BFI stays and is improved.
I guess I can forgive only 1 setting if it's well tuned, and since most monitors only have 1, but I hope LG really puts more effort into BFI. We want higher refresh rates, and higher brightness in BFI mode
This. So much this. I recently tested some old-school platform gaming (best played on CRT if you're a purist) on a VR headset. Those headsets use ultra-low-persistence displays and thus are almost motion blur free, even at 60hz, but with minimal flickering and it's such a breath of fresh air. I also love well implemented BFI in monitors and TVs but it's usually quite rare...
Vince, why are you taking about selecting rec709 or rec2020 when there's nothing on the screen that reflects that, there are other (very unclear) options shown
