Alex. 3 years ago or so, you didn't even know there was a band called Slipknot, or Linkin Park, Evanescence, and others. You discover this culture around 2018! That doesn't even give you the right to be an amateur. You're an upstart. You were absent, lost in a space-time hole...You have just been parachuted, you have just woken up or come out of a long coma..., you don't "know" Chester for example come on man...but you allow yourself to judge, and play the connoisseur. But to know it, you must have fallen into it too early. You have to have been immersed in it for years, to know its history, to develop the right musical ear (yes, it's about ear, and not about neck muscles to nod for business!)...It's a whole process where there is no room for improvisation or false pretenses...You judge teenagers who discover Linkin Park or Slipknot, etc. while you yourself discovered these bands when you were twice the age of these teenagers! Ok ? It's not even the same as them, it's worse, because at least these kids have the excuse of being born too late ! What is your excuse?

    "Emotion is everything to them."
They don't even understand their own emotions, or at least these individuals.
Slipknot is about the anger that builds up inside through your struggles and instead of acting out through anger, these songs release that said anger that we have built up.
They are the voice that other people don't have. They are a deep band because of their own experiences that is written through their songs.
Slipknot will always be immortal. Just look at their past and look into why they do what they do.

my rough interpretation of the lyrics to duality. the duality of not wanting to be blind to the truth of reality and its corruption. the truth hurts so bad you try to look away, to close your eyes, it helps ease the pain, but it always works its way inside, once your eyes are opened to the truth looking away is impossible. your stuck in duality wanting to know the truth but also wanting to escape from the pain it causes. the pain is maddening sometimes you just wanna give up, you feel powerless, you wish things were different, you wish you could change things, but you cannot kill what you did not create. all you have is your voice and all you can do is say what you see even though you know people wont like it. you don't know if you can take it anymore so you push your fingers into your eyes again to stop the ache, but it never ends, it works its way back inside. i love that song, i feel i can really relate to it more and more the older and wiser i get.

I've been a metal fan ever since I was 10 back in 1994. I went to Ozzfest 99' and I had no idea who these guys were. It was mid-day in summer heat and these guys come on stage. I'll be honest, I took one look at them and scoffed. I turned to my friends and said lets go to the main stage because Pantera was one of the headliners. We were walking away and Corey screams, "THIS IS YOUR NEW NATIONAL FUCKING ANTHEM, SURFACING!" Imagine a pissed off angsty 15 year old hearing that song for the first time. Blew...my fucking...mind. It was the tour that got them famous. I stayed to meet them and buy their record. They were so fucking cool to every fan like me who stayed. I was so shocked to see how tall and then how short some of them were, especially Joey Jordison. The drums sounded like they were coming from a giant. And I'm only 5'6, but I towered over him. Corey too is maybe an inch taller than me. They were all so gracious. Probably one of my favorite concerts of all time. It was also the first time I ever saw or heard System of a Down as well. That Ozzfest was stacked. Slayer, Rob Zombie, Deftones, Godsmack, Pantera, Fear Factory, Primus, Kittie, Static X, Hed PE, and of course Ozzy himself with Black Sabbath. Just a heavy metal heaven. These kids in this video? Fuck em'. Listen to your dumb shit that's around today. They'll never know how great this one day was to me.

As a gen z myself (2002) I do not credit any of the kids in the video and believe they need to be classed into the next generation. I grew up listening to 99% of the bands you listed and I can solely say that a large % of gen z are avid listeners of the same bands/artists and then some and all shouldn't be classed with whom were in the video...also I'm glad you mentioned primus because my mom went to highschool with them back when they went by "Blind Illusion" and went to their first show they played in their garage, I've met the drummer a few times myself actually, as well as a member of Suicidal tendencies

As a 16 year old I am so sorry for everything that my generation has done. Just know, there are some sane anomalies to that condition. I love rock and metal best type of music.

check out avenged seven fold, system of a down, skillet, evanescence
those bands are pretty much all that was on in the early 2000s, i call it wwe metal
now the evolution of that turns into "djent" (pronounced jent)
      bands include
      jinjer
      volumes
      gojira
sion (sion is what killswitch engage wouldve become, even has the same vocalist)
and i'll throw in bullet for my valentine just because its a bit more emo than djent and i think its a good gateway into that side of metal

Slipknot is tame once you go down the metal rabbit hole. Slipknot sounds like soft rock to me now. 😂

@@uwusauce666 Unfortunately you've no clue about what you're talking about.
None of the bands you named are using djent elements apart from volumes.
      Jinjer- Prog/Groove
Volumes- modern metalcore w djent elements
      Gojira- Groove/Prog
Sion- Metalcore and just a side project of Jared Dines and Howard Jones (Killswitch Engage ex vocals)
Bullet For My Valentine are just metalcore.Nothing djent'y about them.Never has been.
Listen to Bring Me The Horizon older songs (Pray For Plagues for example) and tell me what they sound like :D
Or Periphery, After The Burial, Veil Of Maya...they have djent going on.
      Not what you named.
      Sorry. Expand your horizons buddy.

I'm surprised these kids didn't have a full on panic attack; they want everything in life to be so sanitized and soft and they want their art to be paint by numbers, they don't want to have to think about anything and anything that tries to make them think, they try to cancel.

this comment is the definition of cringe. this show is scripted. there have been previous "actors" saying this is scripted. do you really think if they said how they felt, and said they like it, it'd bring attention and views?
