If you want a great example of how well rap and metal fit together, check out the Tech N9ne song, "Wither," that he had Corey Taylor (Lead singer of Slipknot) featured on. Shit was a banger, and it shows how well they blend.

I saw Slipknot live in 1999 or 2000. This part hit and I was dumbfounded at the fact the ENTIRE Arena was silent. You could hear a pin drop. It was amazing Corey's command over the audience and their ability to connect with their fans.

in the real recorded version, The line is "Where are you gonna be in the next 5 years?"
in this live version and in 2019's Download, Corey Alters the Lyrics, to 10 and 20 years to pay homage to the fact they've been coming to download for over 2 decades now

These guys live are a treat. It's been awhile since I have been to one their shows, but the last one I went to my brother and I got to meet Corey and Sid and it was awesome. They sat and shot the shit with us for a few minutes before the show. Crowd participation means a lot to Slipknot. They want you engaged as possible. They did the "jump the fuck up" bit during "Surfacing" instead of this track when I seen them. You should definitely react to "Surfacing". It's a serious BANGER!!!

Great reaction Knox! As always! Been subbed for a long time, but I rarely comment. I wanted to suggest a new band for your Metal Monday's. Maybe give the band Nightwish a try. The song is - Storytime live from Wacken 2013. It's a shorter song than the one folks usually suggest to start with. But they have a huge catalog, and are a supremely talented group of individuals. Nightwish is a Symphonic Metal band, with a female lead vocalist. Hopefully, you'll see this and give them a go! Hope you enjoy it if you do! Thanks for sharing your time, expertise, and thoughts with us on all of your musical journeys! It's most appreciated! Sending blessings and light to you & your family from me and my family in Alabama! Keep on rocking Knox🤘🏻😊

That would be a cool one to start with, regardless of how much I love Ghost Love Score @ Wacken 2013. Considering Knox's literary etc depth, Shoemaker and Song of Myself are probably worth a thought, too.

@@anttisaamanen2398 we think a lot alike lol! I strongly considered Song of Myself and Shoemaker, too hard for me to pick a favorite lol! But, I went with Storytime. My thinking was it's a bit easier as an introduction, as we all know how deep and emotional their songs can get! I feel the same way about GLS, I figured that the length might play a part, and if he likes Storytime, then move in for GLS! I'm really hoping he sees this! Download is a festival we have in the uk btw and this was their first time headlining, as well as the 10th aniversary of this song hence him switching out "where you gonna be in the next 5 years" for "ten years". The drummer Joey was such a total legend and all round super cool dude by all accounts. Not only one of the fastest drummers out there, but an amazing musician too. Metal Mondays have become a fantastic way to relax after a day of hard work. I started as a hip-hop/rap fan (I enjoy great lyrics) but then I discovered Linkin Park and that’s how I found most beautiful music genre of all time. Keep it up with the metal content. Can’t wait for you to react to Deftones. Digital Bath is a good starter, or Passenger. Both are from the fantastic White Pony album.

No shame to Joey but if you want to see the master who invented the drum platform live show antics that's none other than Tommy Lee. Dude legit has a roller coaster track that takes him all around the venue. The Official music video for Motley Crue's Wild Side has him spinning end over end in place. Granted his drumming is far easier than what Joey is playing but still pretty insane.

Great reaction! Glad you liked it. You should check out Corey Taylor performing this song live and acoustic in London 2018. It starts at 1:49:18 in the full show video. It's amazingly different and I'm sure it would be interesting for you as an artist. If you don't want to do a reaction do yourself a favour and watch it at least just for yourself.
Fun fact: Corey did some rap features with Kid Bookie and Tech N9ne.
Do you remember your reaction to the Falling in Reverse trilogy ages ago? The guy screaming in the middle of "Drugs" was Corey.

Most influencers reaction videos wouldn’t even bother or think it necessary to better understand a band like Slipknots lyrics.

Good video and enjoy your passion for music.
