Raja sir once said in an interview when talking about other composers songs, he said "do you have time to listen to other songs when I have given songs to last you for a lifetime?" If you understand his comment, we can realise that if we listen deeply, analysing all his songs by the way you analyse, one lifetime is not enough. Such is the magnanimity of this genius' compositions that he has showered music on all of us like rain. He is a treasure we need to protect all his works for the future generation.

What a voice!! And to think, he says humbly that he does not think too much or overthink over a period of days / weeks for a song. It comes spontaneously on the spot on listening to the situation or a day after watching the reel, for BGMs!!! BOW to him! "Meendum meendum vaa", "Ennullil engo" are my other favourites.

BUT, Ponvaanam is more of Srotaswini + Keeravani. Dhoorathil naan kanda is somewhat in Gowri Manohari and Kannaa varuvaaya is more towards Patdeep.

Our knowledge on the various works of Ilaiyaraaja sir is at very arbitrary level. Though we have listened to those songs many times, they sound different after listening to your explanations. Hats off to you, Sir. Please talk about Kadhal Oviyam and Nizhalgal songs.

Going through your videos just recently started. I can't agree with you more. Raja sir was probably the most creative, productive and intelligent composer in India to have handled several genre's with consummate ease. What is special about Raja is the flow. This requires separate study in itself. The way he integrates classical raga's into different rhythm patterns that just does not confine to classical instruments is mind blowing. This I feel no one has done to the extent Raja sir has done. Hats off to your efforts.

The original telugu movie is Aalapana which is dubbed as 'Salangayil Oru sangeetham' in tamil. Aalapana is available in UA-cam. All songs are beautiful and also BGM. You can even create an episode on this film

Wow fantastic video sir. There have been some outstanding compositions in this raga by a variety of composers, but the amount of variation Raja sir has shown is mind boggling. I was really happy that you included Yuvan’s Kana Kaanum Kalangal in this video.
A couple of Raja sir songs you could have included are Konji Konji from Veera and Hey aiya saamy from Varsham 16.
