The SOUL connection is what SETS the MAESTRO apart from others, he did it by the quantity of thousands! It is also what gives it the "evergreen" / "timeless" factor. Abheri is just another raaga for him to be used as his playground!! Nice collection, Tesla sir. Singare Velane deva, Poove Poochudava and Naadham en Jeevane - BEST of Abheri's ESSENCE.

Venkataramanan B.V. and Tesla, EXACTLY and people as usual falsely think that IR is the villain. KB being such a master creator should have had some mutual respect for a composer who gave him the ETERNAL BEST like Sindhu Bhairavi, Unnal Mudiyum Thambi (Rudra veena) both of which got IR his National Awards and the songs of Pudhu pudhu arthangal. The music stunned even the Carnatic experts and KB himself!!!! And later, Mani Ratnam (having worked with him where ALL songs were HITS including BGMs) was only happy to join this traitor team. Let me NOT kindle my ANGER any more!

Hello Ganesh very nice explanation. Thenaruviyil nanaidhidum, kaalidaasan kannadaasan, sangathamizh kaviye songs start with abheri but in between some other raagams are also used.
Raja Sir has got a gift of using a raaga on any platform.. Be it folk or western ..once kavingar vaali called him "Swara Gnani " which is true ..he can play ease with swaras otherwise we wouldnt have got this much songs in the same raaga!!
