I dont think people realise how massive this is for the lore of stellaris We now actually know the origins of the unbidden and the others like them and what the throne is and what it is capable of... questions that we have had for years now... (now all we gotta wait for is an answer for what the hunters are)
I got hit by all three crisis faction the other day in the last 100 years of the game. Last thing I need is a 4th now because those bugs did a number on the galaxy.
@@TSOMimmortan that's what they are themed around, it says on the settings menu for Gigas that they are the Hunters in Gigas lore. In normal lore they obviously aren't canon but in Gigas they are the hunters the scourge speaks of.
And on top of that you can form a migration pact (or in my case be in hegemony with allowed migration), colonize new worlds with Formless pop, give them full Citizenship (maybe even assimilate into cyborg/robot pop), change to democracy/oligarchy, get Formless leader as new head of your nation, enslave every other nation(or purge), and now you have Ethernal Empire, with Formless as sole species.
No matter the problem, if you're in space, the solution is to "repolarise the X" - if that doesn't fix it, you might as well just set the self destruct.

The Q4 2024 DLC is called “The Grand Archive,” it’s supposed to be a story pack about capturing and breeding the galaxy’s space fauna. So if a biologics update is coming, it’s probably going to come out around the holiday season, at the earliest.
@@TheRedKing The contingency would have to involve some kind of machine expansion. The Scourge, I don't know, probably a biological expansion. The most radical would have to be galactic exploration beyond our galaxy (Though that would be more like sequel type material)

Not gonna lie this makes me really want a new origin or species pack where we play a subset of the formless that landed in this universe after the shattering. I always wanted to play the unbidden as I though it could be made into a unique playstyle like the machine and hive minds where your psychic beings and could have unique gameplay. Don’t know maybe someone will mod it some day
if everything comes together, formless are the previous players who chose psionic ascension and become crisis, in which they successfully destroyed their last galaxy and moved into the shroud, also they are the force whos hunting prethoryn from galaxy to galaxy
It's SO NICE to finally get answers to the mysteries we have been teased with for how long. Mystery and the unknown are cool and all but at some point a mystery with no answer is pretty pointless. Especially to actually get an ORIGIN for a endgame crisis! I also almost forgot you served the Commonwealth of Man. What you did was not very nice. We of the Omni Collective kindly request you return the throne to it's original owners.
We, Solar Hegemony, are dissapointed that our brash and short-sighted cousins did not vassalize Formless in their reality... However we do not kindly take to any kind of veiled threats to humanity, even to variants of Commonwealth. Take heed of this warning, Omni, or you may one day face our wrath.
Time for the other two crises to get story expansions. I'd like to see the hunters arrive in a galaxy that successfully fought off the Scourge, and possibly settle there (or go to war with consumers/eradicators), since the hunted prey is now dead.

So this basically (kinda) explains (leaving some stuff 4 your imagination) what the throne is. Do you think in other dlcs we will get an explanation or an mention to the hunters and class-30 singularity that get mentioned by other crises ?
synthetic dawn updated and expanded on the contingency astral planes is doing the same with the unbidden. their is probably going to be a dlc about genetic engineering or a hivemind rework that overhauls the scourge.

The Eternal Throne? It seems like a powerful device that would be a great asset for most galaxy bound verses like Warhammer 40k. However some may have already outgrown it's limitations. The Aeternum probably wouldn't be too overly excited over it considering their experiences and tier of power. They however would be more annoyed about this. "Hey! Who parked a entire parallel realm solar system of etheric energy nearby our birch world?!" The Phanon Corp however would like to take that for study and safe keeping thank you good sirs. As for the Stellarborne. "Congratulations on obtaining that interdimensional toy little empire. Keep this up and you may become like the Transcendent humans from the Xeelee's universe in a few hundred thousand years. Watch out for the Hunters though."

They seem like they would make a good faction for verses like Halo and Warhammer 40k. A faction trying to survive and keep the Eternal Throne away from all the other nations and principalities.
I normally use Immortal trait so this have no use for me. There is also a way to attain immortality with vanilla game, if you're an empire and having crown heir if that heir class is scientist you can use chronophage anomaly to gain immortality no need to do roundabout things waiting the formless. There is also another chance in excavation to gain this trait again exclusively to scientist leader. The idea is to gain this trait before your current ruler dies..... And your heir will have the eternal throne

In fairness I didn't expect any issues, but am aware alot did on launch. I think there are some broken things but it's more related to the patch than the dlc, just there is no where to review the patch
How much do you think these Relics including the Eternal Throne would effect galaxies like the Expanded Universe Star Wars and the Halo galaxy? They seem to raidate great cosmic power however they seem limited in capacity. The Forerunners were kind of like that already. And I don't know how something like the Eternal Throne would help them fight against the Flood and only end up as a liability because if the ever adapting parasite finds out they will target it and attempt to capture the Eternal Throne. In Star Wars it maybe enough to overpower something like Abeloth.

The Eternal Throne would simply empower them even further then ever before when it comes to a continuous state of being. Add that with Neural physics and reality altering then you got a more powerful devouring monsterous scourge overmind then before.

so maybe i got this wrong but the formless called the unbidden its "children's" so does that means the unbidden are to the formless somewhat similar to what A.I are to us? i dont think they mean children's as in offspring and they called them broken. it seems the unbidden rose up against the formless and killed all but this group and they want the throne because its a powerful artifact that can harness massive amount of power so they can probably use it as a power source

BTW, you can force them to serve underneath you, which gives you the throne and size 40 gaia world in that system.

I hope seizing the eternal throne isn't the only way to resolve this. I hope there is a more benevolent option with its own rewards.
You can attempt to vassalise them peacefully and still acquire the throne, but it is chance based whether it succeeds

so maybe i got this wrong but the formless called the unbidden its "children's" so does that means the unbidden are to the formless somewhat similar to what A.I are to us? i dont think they mean children's as in offspring and they called them broken. it seems the unbidden rose up against the formless and killed all but this group and they want the throne because its a powerful artifact that can harness massive amount of power so they can probably use it as a power source
