- A Walkthrough/Let's Play of one the few good movie games Batman Returns for the Super Nintendo based on the 1992 movie directed by Tim Burton. They made this game a beat em up but a very good one still this game can be very tough to beat which you are about to see. I'll be playing it on Mania difficulty aka hardest mode of difficulty. Both extra lives and extra continues codes will be activated. I Will Die Alot Long Play enjoy please rate and subscribe.

I've always felt like this was an arcade-quality game for the time, or at least close. Aesthetically, it's also top notch. There's a lot of detail in respect to the source material. An underrated SNES title in terms of production value.
One of if not the best graphical game on SNES aside from dkc2
@@TheTruth-mv7hm yoshi's island is ons of the best llooking snes games too. i played through it pretty recently and was amazed at how good it looks.

Everything works perfect in this game. It captures the spirit of the movie, the gameplay is awesome, the soundtrack is beautiful. Best batman game ever made along with the arkham series. I still play this masterpiece nowadays :)
Usually licensed games suck but this one is great
It sucks when done by shitty companies like LJN or Flying Edge, but Disney games for example are great (most of them). And Sunsoft made good Batman games too.
Capcom and Konami were great at their licensed games. LJN games were shit!

Wow the memories, this beat them up games were the best back in 90s. I don't understand why there is not many of this style of games now. Konami just owned the world at that time, really impressive.
Yea beat em ups kinda have died off but recently they been slowly making a come back the recently released Streets of Rage 4 and last year's River City Girls are some recent gems worth checking out.

great game and great skill. This game was so tough for me...also why couldn't they have had a level with the green sewer water!? Every video game deserves a water level.
I've been working on beating this on mania without losing one life. I can almost do it but the Penguin at the end of stage 4 is ALWAYS where I lose that life. So close. I'll post a video of me clobbering this game if anyone wants to see that..

Holy moley i never finished this game on maniac difficulty i hardly remember to beat it in normal mode because
1. The Bossfights with Catwoman (twice) and Penguin are very hard you have to sacrifice your HP with the cape whirl to interrupt their movements
2. That freaking Batmobile Highway Run !!!

Not really, as master piccolo would say "DODGE". is hard but you need to memorize the pattern. As for the final boss, when he's on the umbrela just try to grab him and make kim eat the floor
@@lorenzolamas26 how did he start with 9 lives? does it let you start with more on mania? and he seemed to be dying a lot more frequently than his remaining lives would suggest. i thought he was using some kind of cheat but maybe you just get a lot more points anx gain extra lives much more quickly.

This game is still amazing to this day, everything screams quality. From the incredible soundtrack, visuals, tight game play. Just oozes what the Snes was capable of, especially from Konami.
Those clown hit hard to knock Batman down with 2 hits, even with armor. Never understood that.

The invincibility/vulerarability ratio really tests your patience

Mania Mode ain't no joke.you take a lot more damage than other difficulties.i beat Mania Difficulty a few times.then Try Clearing it without using any continues.on mania you have to change your whole strategies to survive.only boss ppl will have problems the most is Catwoman.as for The Penguin when he flyes you can actually grab him.headbutt twice and slam him to ground.Gotta Start blocking or you won't survive these levels.only a VERY Skillful Player or True Dark Knight Can beat Mania Mode With No Continues.
On the last boss when he flies down and attacks you can block it and counter attack, just an extra tip after watching the end :)
20:20 honestly pretty interesting visual with the streets covered by sleet and snow whilst the would be elect employs the filth to sweep clear any squeaky clean stoolpigdeon they see. Poignant especially for the time frames standards
Ever notice that in the movie the villain has only a few dozen henchmen, but in the video game based on the movie he has something like a thousand gajillion henchmen?
Well, to be fair, in the movie, Penguin had like an army of circus clowns destroying Gotham.

This is what movie-based games should've been all the time.
Perfect gameplay passageways through the whole movie with perfect representation of every character and narrations of every non action scene in between.
Gameplay advice: should've used more guarding instead of tanking everything head on, or... well... that's how I did it.

Advice during next playthrough. Blue thin clown lands a punch immediately hold block and wait for the second one. Biker clowns. One batarang takes them out
And if you hit the juggling clown with a batarang he loses his pins
And if you hit the bomb clown, he'll drop the device which will then immediately explode.

For some strange reason, this game is STILL one of the scariest games I ever played. It's the combination of the atmosphere, music and difficulty. I still don't want to finish it.
