    Today I’m going to share my top five sugar replacements. Many people are over-consuming high fructose corn syrup and processed sugars, so I’m going to go over my top five sweeteners that you can easily replace them with. Although these sweeteners may benefit your health and are better than processed sugar, I would recommend consuming them in moderation.
    1. Pure raw honey is great because it contains amino acids, electrolytes, antioxidants, and antimicrobial compounds, which can support your overall health. Honey also helps reduce allergy symptoms, is used as a natural medicine to help heal wounds, and is my most used natural sweetener.
    2. Stevia. If you have blood sugar issues, are overweight, or have diabetes, then stevia may be the best sweetener for you. Stevia is a no calorie, all-natural sweetener that comes from a leaf of a flowering plant. Make sure you get the green leaf stevia.
    3. Dates are great because they are high in fiber, potassium, minerals, and vitamins. The fiber in dates actually slows down sugar absorption in your body.
    4. Coconut sugar. Organic, unrefined, coconut palm sugar is great for baking because it has the equal comparison of 1 cup to 1 cup of regular sugar in a lot of recipes. It’s full of potassium, electrolytes, nutrients, and has a lower glycemic index.
    5. 100% organic, Grade B, maple syrup is another great sweetener to use in recipes.
    The majority of regular sugar used is from GMO beets and corn, which is highly toxic to the body. Instead, try incorporating these five natural sugar substitutes to satisfy your sweet tooth while you’re taking your health to the next level.

    Honey, Stevia, dates and all the rest are still sugar. Instead it’s better to use sugar substitutes like spices, i.e. cardamom and coriander. These two sweeten and add flavor. Rose water and orange water also add sweetness and all that I mentioned add FLAVOR! I encourage people to look for flavor instead of sweet. Sugar/sweet is not a flavor. However the spices and waters that I mentioned add delicious and delightful flavor to everything you add them to. Also, almond and coconut extracts are also great sweeteners. All that I had mentioned are great sugar substitutes and they contain little to no calories, no fat and some contain great health and medicinal benefits. While the substitutes may not be the same as the sugars that you mentioned in terms of flavor, we really need to train our pallet not to look for or expect so much sweet, rather we should expect more in terms of flavor. All that I mentioned are great flavor enhancers, as well as add sweetness. I hope those that are really looking to replace sugar get to try some of these suggestions.

    Honey and dates are the main foods mentioned by prophet Muhammad. in fact when I fast in Ramadan, i only need 3 dates and a glass or two of plain water before dawn.... and that lasts me the whole day without any prblms of hunger or thirst. and then i break my fast after 13 hours... again with dates and water. i have dates in my handbag everyday. its my go-to survival food. :) I consume honey daily too. and Vinegar. i like dates vinegar. or pomegranate vinegar. rather than apple cider.

      @@chikon2883 molasses is actually one of the few sweeteners with a significant amount of several minerals like calcium, plus it lends flavor to cookies and breads. Maple syrup has a little nutrition as well, especially the darker versions. Honey has very little mineral nutrition but has some enzymes and helps with allergies if you get honey local to your area. Fructose is NOT a toxin, fruit has fructose...I think you are thinking of high fructose corn syrup which is less healthy but still not "toxic". Rice malt syrup wouldn't be much better than corn syrup.

      Sigal Smadar hahahaha, It's a plant answer as to why it's safe. All our major mind altering drugs come from plants too. There was no god making all plants safe to us, everything needed to be tested or used for such a long time things are generally recognized as safe. While the stevia extract is a new thing, sucking on leaves of the plant would have gone back in time. So minimal use shouldn't be a concern.

    Many maple syrups sold at the supermarkets contain HFCS - before you buy read the ingredients - even if it says 100% natural etc. Always read the ingredients labels and if it says corn syrup - that means HFCS - which is made from US GMO corn. Most of the corn syrup and HFCS used by manufactures is made from the cheapest corn in the world - which is the ubiquitous - nearly impossible to avoid - US GMO corn.

      Exactly... if you want a daily dose of a nutrition inhibitor (something that prevents your body from absorbing nutrients from the food) - then go ahead and eat as much HFCS as you want... And oh - it leads to nonalcoholic liver disease and diabetes... and it can increase your chance of heart disease and cancer... But asides from this - it is hunky dory!

    People are over consuming high fructose corn syrup - HFCS? That statement is miss leading. Nobody buys just HFCS and adds it to their food like you would white sugar or salt and pepper. If you eat process foods, snacks, canned foods, frozen dinners, soft drinks, sodas, flavored teas, sport drinks and flavored water, they all contain HFCS added by the manufacturer. HFCS is ubiquitous in all processed foods and if you consume such things then you cannot avoid it. HFCS is a poison - and worse for your health than any other sugar. It is metabolized in your body differently than other sugars and makes you get fatty liver disease quickly. So the fault lies with the manufacturers just as much with the consumers. They only way for you to avoid HFCS today - is if you buy all the fresh ingredients and make things from scratch. When I cut HFCS from my diet I couldn't buy 95% of the items in the supermarket. I had to go back to making everything from scratch

    • @MrDoctorlove993
      @MrDoctorlove993 7 років тому +6

      People consume more HGCS because it's already added to a lot of every day things. It's in all soft drinks. It's everywhere, even in juices. That's how it's the most consumed, it's not a misleading statement. It's true. Nobody pours white sugar into their drinks because it "looks bad". Instead, they get drinks that already have it in there and choose to forget about the sugar contents.
