I first learned about Terry when I saw Geese Howard making an appearance in Tekken 7 and decided to look up the game they're both from, Fatal Fury! Glad I learned about him, because his lore's pretty deep as it went from a revenge story to adopting the son of his nemesis after he fell to his death! It made me appreciate his appearance in Smash Ultimate as well! ^^

Thats what's so great with SNK heroes and many of their villains - and that is that most of them have conclusion to their stories! Ryo Sakazaki - found his sister and father, beat the mob to not mess with the Sakazaki's and the family is happy united again. Plus Ryo will be with King and Robert with Yuri! Terry - His story was concluded in the FF series along with Garou! A truly satisfying conclusion for a hero. Kyo - He and Ior and Chizuru is at last able to seal Orochi and put the Hakeshu clan in their place, definitely placing a great conclusion to their hero story Ash - he bamboozled his ancestors and is able to put the timeline in the right place! Not the hero we want but definitely a hero that we need and I am glad SNK created him. Now all we have to see is if Shunei can live up with all these bigger than life heroes. I sure hope he does too in all honesty. ^^

With all the hints about Southtown being set in the south of USA and most likely Florida, one can say that Terry Bogard could possibly be the most positive portrayal of the Floridaman.
Terry Bogard makes the most Easiest attention towards the American Market, although "Fatal Fury" hasn't gotten a New Installment since 1998 (or 1999 if you want to count "Garou MOTW"), but the "King of Fighters" series not only got more Popular but it makes a lot more Money, Which is outright Criminal because "Fatal Fury" was supposed to be SNK's Legacy.

Not padding things out just to pad things out and admitting when a particular plot point doesn't have much to and speeding through it thus is also admirable.
Not really. Terry doesn’t look anything like the SF1 or SF2 version of Ken besides being a blonde guy. But if anything I’d say Ken’s Alpha series design could have been inspired by Terry, specifically the long ponytail, it’s looks a lot like Terry’s.
I'm giving not a like, but a LOVE! I LOVE these kind of videos, that go deep into the lore of some convoluted stories. Terry is one of my favorites. For the next KoF story line, I'd like to see them just make Rock the main character with Geese as a major villain, and maybe have Terry win one or two of the KoF tournaments in that saga (if he's on a team with Rock for one of them) and leave it at that, then for the next saga, bring back the Assassins and make the Art of Fighting team a major part of that story.
To my knowledge, Fatal Fury characters kinda do have plot points on KOF. Geese is usually absent, but on a lot of ocassions, he sents a team of his own to always have an eye on what's going on. On the Orochi saga, he discovers what is going on with the so called entity of "orochi", and after that point, his plan is using the orochi power to gain abismal power and inmortality, just like the scrolls shenanigans on FF. Terry and the rest of the team is usually there just for fun, but also always lend a hand against the villains.

Like most fighting games, there are clear plot holes no matter how you slice it.
I sort of wish you had mentioned Real Bout Special and Real Bout 2. Even if the plot doesn't go anywhere, fills like it would have fit in nicely to round out everything
What happens in the story has little to do with anything if the character shows up in other games. I'm an snk fan from way back. When Fatal Fury comes up in conversation so does he especially if you watched the ova's. He was a boss in Real Bout and on the boss team in KOF 96. Maybe we just remember him differently
Yea man i love Krauser, he's one of my favorite characters. It's definitely time for him to make a return. He hasn't been in a canon KOF since '96. Wouldn't mind seeing Mr Big return as well. The '96 boss team in KOF 15 would be great.
I just realized... If Terry is Rock Howard's adoptive father doesn't that make Terry and Geese in-laws?..... Sorry i been catching up on too much Guilty Gear Lore
@@KingDom.mp3 It's not at all. Dizzy is Sol's daughter, and Ky is married to Dizzy, making Sol Ky's father in law. Terry is Rock's adoptive father, which makes him...nothing...in relation to Geese.
Dear rooflemonger, there is a little error in the explanation of the story. There is not two timelines, anithing that happens in others games occurs also in KOF, that's beacause KOF is the unification of all the stories. Because of that Geese Howard is dead in KOF from 97 (after the orochi saga in kof goes the real bout story) until kof 14 (in the geese story of the game you can see how geese himself explain about the super resurrection of all the dead people, including himself). You do great videos so keep up the good work ^^
Its two timelines. Krauser is dead in FF and Not in KoF for example, where he acknowledges his fight against terry, versus killing himself after losing in fatal fury. Verse did not resurrect Geese, Geese was always alive in KoF. In KoF he used the scrolls from FF3 to foretell the coming of verse which is why he joined the tournament, versus he burned the scrolls right before Real bout in the fatal fury timeline. etc etc
That's wrong man. There are definitely two timelines, Geese canonically died in Real Bout Fatal Fury but is alive and well in KOF. He entered KOF '96 with Krauser and Mr Big and then in KOF '97 he sent the "97 Special Team" to investigate Orochi's power and report back to him. He wasn't dead. He just doesn't really make that many canonical appearances in the KOF series.
Even though Terry's Role was Minor in the KOF series, this might be possible that Jeff Bogard is still Alive somewhere in the KOF Timeline (Possibly even before the "Verse" Saga), For Example: There was no references of the "Fatal Fury" Events in the KOF Continuity, which could indicate that the FF Events never Happened (And I'm not talking about Manuals, Bios, Wikipedia or even the SNK Website, I'm speaking in Terms of In-Game specific Canon), If you don't believe me, then why is *Wolfgang Krauser* still Alive in the KOF series (Other than Geese), because Lore-Wise *Krauser* killed himself after the Events of "Fatal Fury 2" but all of sudden he showed up Canonically in KOF 96 (about 4 Years after FF2 was released) This is proof that a Character that has already Died (Krauser) from a previous Different Fighting Game Series (Fatal Fury) can come back from the Dead in another Fighter Game Series (King of Fighters).
As far as KOF is concerned, I'm pretty sure only the events of FF1 are confirmed to have happened. That being said, Geese certainly killed Jeff in the KOF timeline and all of Terry's motivations are still the same.
@@AirLancer That's Inconsistent, Here's what I'm talking about, despite AOF and Fatal Fury are Canonically in the same Universe, AOF takes place in the 1970's and Fatal Fury takes place in the 1990's, and here's my Question, where is Ryo Sakazaki in the FF1 in that Continuity when he is indeed 17 - 18 Years Older than Terry Bogard, But here's a surprise, AOF 1 & 2 are actually Canon in the KOF Timeline, while 1 is basically a Rescue Mission (Prologue) but 2 (Real Story) is where it all Started, in the KOF Continuity Terry and Ryo (Despite Rarely Aging Progressively) are now the same Age, which brings me back to my Question, if the Events of FF1 (somewhat) happened then where is Ryo, his Motive against Geese is the same as Terry's but for Blackmailing his Old Man (Takuma) by Forcing him to work for Geese of his Evil Schemes, So that is my Specific Point that it is indeed that Fatal Fury and KOF are separate Timelines, it's very Possible that Jeff Bogard is Alive in the KOF Continuity.
@@AirLancer Also no, I didn't forgot about *"AOF3: Path of the Warrior,"* it's still Canon in the "Fatal Fury" Timeline, But it's not Canon in the KOF Timeline, Although Kasumi from AOF3 did Made it in the KOF Continuity, but it doesn't effect the Plot and Story. (Because all the Characters don't Age much) Edit: And People thinks "The Legend of Zelda" series has a ridiculous Timeline, Yeah Right. 😂
@@AirLancer And I forgot to mention that *Geese Howard* looks really Young in AOF2 compared to how very Old he looks in the Fatal Fury series when they're both in the same Universe, But wait, if AOF2 is Canon in the KOF Continuity, then how did Geese got Old real fast in KOF 96 (which every Character barely Aged at all) and he's now started to look exactly like in his Fatal Fury Version but that Events didn't Happen and.... Alright you know what, I'm done here, I need some rest because my Head is starting to hurt real Badly now. 🤕
Nice Video 👍 but you made one mistake Terry's first appearance is not actually Fatal Fury it's Street Fighter believe it or not, according to Hiroshi Matsumoto the co creator of both Street Fighter & Fatal Fury the blonde fellow who punch's the brick wall in Street Fighter's intro is none other than a prototype Terry Bogard & although not in the game this marks his first appearance in a game 1987. Seeing how these games were infact created by the same people its not that out of the ordinary but still amazing none the less that SNK's mascot is fist in a Capcom game. Sorry i been catching up on too much Guilty Gear Lore
Not really, that'd only be if like...Terry...married Rock?
@@AirLancer look up Ky reacts to Sol being his In-law
It's the same connection
@@KingDom.mp3 It's not at all. Dizzy is Sol's daughter, and Ky is married to Dizzy, making Sol Ky's father in law.
Terry is Rock's adoptive father, which makes him...nothing...in relation to Geese.
@@AirLancer wtf Dizzy is Sol's daughter.............. WHO FUCKED SOL?!
I duno the legal standing of what happens when you adopt a kid from his dead beat dad that you killed
BEASTLY
Even though Terry's Role was Minor in the KOF series, this might be possible that Jeff Bogard is still Alive somewhere in the KOF Timeline (Possibly even before the "Verse" Saga),
For Example: There was no references of the "Fatal Fury" Events in the KOF Continuity, which could indicate that the FF Events never Happened (And I'm not talking about Manuals, Bios, Wikipedia or even the SNK Website, I'm speaking in Terms of In-Game specific Canon),
If you don't believe me, then why is *Wolfgang Krauser* still Alive in the KOF series (Other than Geese), because Lore-Wise *Krauser* killed himself after the Events of "Fatal Fury 2" but all of sudden he showed up Canonically in KOF 96 (about 4 Years after FF2 was released)
This is proof that a Character that has already Died (Krauser) from a previous Different Fighting Game Series (Fatal Fury) can come back from the Dead in another Fighter Game Series (King of Fighters).
As far as KOF is concerned, I'm pretty sure only the events of FF1 are confirmed to have happened. That being said, Geese certainly killed Jeff in the KOF timeline and all of Terry's motivations are still the same.
@@AirLancer That's Inconsistent,
Here's what I'm talking about, despite AOF and Fatal Fury are Canonically in the same Universe, AOF takes place in the 1970's and Fatal Fury takes place in the 1990's, and here's my Question, where is Ryo Sakazaki in the FF1 in that Continuity when he is indeed 17 - 18 Years Older than Terry Bogard,
But here's a surprise, AOF 1 & 2 are actually Canon in the KOF Timeline, while 1 is basically a Rescue Mission (Prologue) but 2 (Real Story) is where it all Started, in the KOF Continuity Terry and Ryo (Despite Rarely Aging Progressively) are now the same Age, which brings me back to my Question, if the Events of FF1 (somewhat) happened then where is Ryo, his Motive against Geese is the same as Terry's but for Blackmailing his Old Man (Takuma) by Forcing him to work for Geese of his Evil Schemes,
So that is my Specific Point that it is indeed that Fatal Fury and KOF are separate Timelines, it's very Possible that Jeff Bogard is Alive in the KOF Continuity.
@@AirLancer Also no, I didn't forgot about *"AOF3: Path of the Warrior,"* it's still Canon in the "Fatal Fury" Timeline, But it's not Canon in the KOF Timeline,
Although Kasumi from AOF3 did Made it in the KOF Continuity, but it doesn't effect the Plot and Story. (Because all the Characters don't Age much)
Edit: And People thinks "The Legend of Zelda" series has a ridiculous Timeline, Yeah Right. 😂
@@joseurbina3835 The answer is "they didn't really think about it that hard."
@@AirLancer And I forgot to mention that *Geese Howard* looks really Young in AOF2 compared to how very Old he looks in the Fatal Fury series when they're both in the same Universe,
But wait, if AOF2 is Canon in the KOF Continuity, then how did Geese got Old real fast in KOF 96 (which every Character barely Aged at all) and he's now started to look exactly like in his Fatal Fury Version but that Events didn't Happen and....
Alright you know what, I'm done here, I need some rest because my Head is starting to hurt real Badly now. 🤕
I'm pretty sure it was Goenitz that was one of the Orochi 8 and NOT Yamazaki.
Its Goetniz, Gaidel, Chris, yashiro, Shermie, Vice, Mature, and Yamazaki. Those are the 8
I think Geese himself killed Jeff in front of Terry and Andy , after Jeff got injured by one of Geese's man.
changes game to game, but the original story is geese henchmen knifed Jeff and then he died so that's what I went with.
Okkaaay!
Oda said after kof xv they will love to continue garou fatal fury. And i am sure they will. Samsho to kof to fatal fury to maybe art of fighting or the last blade.
Don't forget your civic duty come 2024, let the establishment know that Enough's Zanuff! A vote for Chipp is a vote for love!!
I wonder if bed man will show up on this series
His sister is still around and kicking, but his plot finishes up pretty conclusively by the end of revelator.
i did not know snk heroine was canon.. omg. female terry ftw. i will never play that tho lol. and i know this aint related but i would love to see chun li on smash. i find it weird how guile was put in for the assist over her. if sakurai were to put her in, it makes sense because he will most likely mention how she was the first female character ever to be playable in a fighting game for its time
Nice.
Terry is actually HHH. LOL!
POWA DUUUUNK 🔥🔥🔥
Abigail is far more of an average Canadian citizen
9:06 These events happened in 1920?
Keep up history on snk games there isnt alot of people doing it
