Another installment of the Ridiculous history series of videos, this time its I-no, and when the twist hits, yeah its all kinda ridiculous. These kind of videos are rare from me since they take a lot more time/effort than a normal video so you guys know I normally don't ask, but likes/shares would be appreciated :)
Hey, great vid. Did not know much about I-No before this. One tangental question, whats the name of the song in the background? Its been stuck in my head for ages.
The extra time and effort definitely does show with just how much of a great watch these videos are alone. I'm new to GG as a whole, and with Strive being delayed, I honestly would love to see more of these on the game's initial returning characters in the meantime so I can have a better idea of what's going on with the cast.

As most ppl probably know, Guilty Gear has a ton of music references and I-nos character design is heavily based on japanese musician Shiina Ringo. She used to play the exact same guitar that I-no uses and also used to have a mole in the same spot, but she got it removed. In my opinion some of the best stuff that Shiina Ringo created are the albums she released with the band Tokyo Jihen, but she's also written a lot of music for other artists and even has two "reimport" albums which consist of her covers of songs of other artists that she had written for them originally. So yes she's pretty prolific!
@@AniVegMinMan I think I read somewhere that the name is a reference to Brian Eno, too. Only the visual designers are clearly inspired by Shiina Ringo. Oh and perhaps some of the suggestive move names, too, since her lyrics are often suggestive as well.
if she was a naturally good person i'd agree, but she's kinda a jerk. I think she will be inheriting the trait of her instant kill, Megalomania. Going crazy with power with the fact she's "the chosen one"
And now there are articles complaining about how ArcSys handles story modes... smh some people actually want to be interrupted every 5 minutes for a fight in a story.
I have been trying to learm GG lore from UA-cam for months now. If anyone knows the struggle I give my condolences. This is one of the most difficult pursuits I've ever been on. This lore is hard to find and be consistent.
Check out Tom Oliver's longass lecture on the series. A chunk of it is info taken from Xrd's library because it is the best resource for game lore but he's done a lot if research otherwise and it's just a very entertaining watch the whole way through.
There is a Tumblr page called gear project ran by one of the most knowledgeable people on the series. The community doesn't like him too much though because he only talks about what is cannon.

Fun fact: The guitar that I-no uses is based off of a German electric guitar manufacturing company by the name of Duesenberg. Specifically, the guitar that I-no uses is based off of the Duesenberg Starplayer TV Semi-hollow. They’re very expensive, but I’ve played one at the store before and they are fantastic guitars.
New game plus expo is in a few days from time of me writing this, we might get another look at Ino then!? Also in a few days is the dragon ball battle hour showcasing ssj4 gogeta so watch out for that!
Yeah man, bite-size overviews of the cast in Strive I think would be pretty nice for all the newbies to the franchise. I have to admit that even playing the series from the very start that the story is something I usually skip so I even I learned a little bit about my main. Good stuff!
Honestly, I-No alone is tempting me into trying Strive as my first Guilty Gear. Faust's redesign is cool too, as is a bunch of the cast, but 'time-travelling guitar witch hope spirit having a psychotic break' appeals so specifically to me.
@@davidnichol4735 So, I didn't end up playing either of those characters. Faust for general unimpressiveness, but I-No because her playstyle didn' really agree with me. I ended up with Axl, which I think is generally agreed to be the potential choice in that pool that has produced the least good in the universe. But I don't care, because being an enormous troll of a zoner is wonderful and no other game has provided it as well.
I wonder how I-No will feel in Strive. I never got used to her weired dash in any of the previous games. Definitely gonna give her a try though cause I really love her redesign!
Love the Guilty Gear backstory content. I just picked up Strive so it would be great to see all of their back stories unless this already exists somewhere. Keep uo the good work my friend.

She's basically what i'd want in a character (both lore wise and gameplay... MAYBE minus the crazy.) My favorite character in this series, which shows how much I love her as my favorites of GG are also: Sol, Sin, Raven, Jack-O, Jam, Baiken, Chipp, Ramlethal, and THE BOI, Slayer. I-no just slaps TOO hard. Def a 10/10 imo of Fighting game characters. Idk if she's my favorite FG character tbh, as that has Ryu, Evil Ryu, Yun, MK2011 Sonya, and Cerebella from SG. Yeah, the story going into strive is supposed to be the final showdown between Sol and That Man, but I feel like before its all said and done it will become the Axl show, he's been slowly building up over time.

In case anyone is interested, her guitar is a Dusenburg Starplayer, specifically hers is a Starplayer II, an older model. But they still make the Starplayer. It is real. You can buy it, in pretty much this exact color.
please more! please please please! more guilty gear before strive releases because I actually really love the GG story by man is it hard to find and understand. another ep on a GG character would be great or if you did a longer video covering lots of characters or even a story recap of different games before strive comes out. GG is a unique franchise in regards to how weird, deep and scattered it's lore is.

Interesting, the Fate series have something similar to her. Its humanity's strive to survive, called Gaia, or refered as the World commonly too. Its basically just that, ensures that mankind survives from its own mistakes, and makes sure of this by employing Counter Guardians. Basically notable humans who made an eternal contract to serve Gaia and ensure its purpose, but it kinda turns them into mercinaries when you think about it, with a fucked up mentality since they have to die over and over again to keep working, while killing millions of people that were thought to be dangerous.
The most ridiculous thing about her is that she plays a hollow-body single-cut guitar with a Bigsby but it's a bolt-on instead of a set neck. What the hell?
I've already done a few others on a few GG chars. These vids take a lot longer to make than the usual fare I do so I don't really think I could get around to everyone in anything approaching a timely manner. That said ideally there would be a few more

In the future she comes from all humanity was wiped by Dizzy, she's literaly the only one that exists in the timeline she comes from, so yeah, you can imagine why living in a world like that could end up being quite boring.
@@HiImDaisy That was the timeline where she never met the Jellyfish Pirates nor Ky, so she ends up losing all faith in humans and decides to rebel against them and avenge her mother together with Testament. In that timeline to be precise Ky died, which is why they weren't able to know each other there.
Design wise, i-no was inspired by Porno Diano( sometimes called Polno) a gatekeeper of Hell from the Manga series BASTARD!!! . Daisuke Ishwatari has stated numerous times he's been a fan of the manga, and with the futuristic, fantasy & metal band influences, its pretty clear. Also, funny note, I-no's personality is not too far off from Morrigan( Darkstalkers/Vampire series) which inspired Porno Dianos creation! Crazy how everyone ball wrapped together ! ❤

Design wise, i-no was inspired by Porno Diano( sometimes called Polno) a gatekeeper of Hell from the Manga series BASTARD!!! . Daisuke Ishwatari has stated numerous times he's been a fan of the manga, and with the futuristic, fantasy & metal band influences, its pretty clear. Also, funny note, I-no's personality is not too far off from Morrigan( Darkstalkers/Vampire series) which inspired Porno Dianos creation! Crazy how everyone ball wrapped together ! ❤
Hmm no : I-no is NOTORIOUSLY inspired by the Japanese artist Shiina Ringo. A little google image with both names will confirm it.
