FOLLOWING UP... I took Bridget's Built to Birth (Birth) course, and today I had my first birth... I AM BUILT TO BIRTH! These breathing techniques in this video along with the other breathing techniques in her course seriously helped me accomplish goals for labor and delivery. I am looking forward to using her other courses (post natal fitness, matrescence, baby care and breast feeding). Thank you!!!
Just gave birth naturally 2 days ago. Can't say how grateful I am to have seen this video. Horse lips helped me so much through the contractions from 3 to complete dilation. It made such a difference compared to the first breast
This video literally got me through the birth of my daughter. I watched Bridget from min 01:03 the part where she breaths with us and my husband repeated it over and over again during the contractions until the epidural took effect! I totally recommend it. Bridget has a very calm voice!! I would even recommend to create a version just about breathing for the labor :) thank you Bridget!!! 🙏🙏🙏🙏❤️
37 weeks and 5 days and I am SO SO SO excited to get my contractions as I know it means I’m even closer to meeting my beautiful daughter! Thank you so much for this video and can’t wait to use these techniques. ❤️
Thank you so much for your amazing content. Your breathing techniques helped me all throughout my labour. With a previous 4th degree tear, I managed to birth my second baby with just a graze. You are amazing and I hope all mamas come across your channel ❤️
Induction on Friday but praying baby comes on his own prior! I do have a membrane sweep on Tuesday at my final appointment before induction to see if that might be effective enough to induce labor. Keep me in prayer please, I’m going unmedicated but believe I’m strong and prepared
praying for you that you’ll go into labor spontaneously before the date they set for you! how far along are you? i have an induction scheduled on the 15th at 41 weeks, praying I’ll go into labor before then as well!
@@mahiaks6219 people say it's "so much worse" being induced but don't let that scare you! I've had 3 babies (pregnant with my 4th and going to be induced again for medical reasons) of my births so far 1 was a spontaneous delivery and 2 were medical inductions, never had an epidural for any of them...the pain wasn't much different with induction vs spontaneous labor...just stay strong and be your own advocate in birth, if your on pitocin ask that it be turned off once active labor starts. You can do it mama, you got this!
I started practicing the first breathing technique last year with my 4th pregnancy. I ended up miscarrying at 14 weeks. I didnt have any delivery pain until the placenta got stuck so i started using the breathing method until i was able to get to my midwife and get it all finished. It saved me a lot of pain by breathing that way. My midwife said she rarely gets women that dont scream/yell while shes digging around to get all of the placenta and such out of the uterus. Gave me hope that its a great method to use during labor. Im now 19 weeks with my 5th pregnancy and practicing thsse again.
to the creator of this video, I am so thankful in my 37 weeks I have watched some of your videos about birthing techniques and that helps me a lot, I gave birth last November 2023, and it was a smooth safe delivery. So thank you so much.
These are great tools! Thanks for sharing ❤ 32 weeks with our third and trying to be as prepared as possible, mentally and physically. Binge-watching all your videos!
The built to birth course is filled with so much great information and is really organized. I just finished the BIRTH course, and I plan on rewatching some of the videos!!
Just wanted to say that I've been watching your videos since my first pregnancy. Now I'm due to give birth to baby #3 any day now and your videos have helped me so much with each birth. My 2nd was completed unmedicated as well. Thank you for sharing all of the content that you do, Bridget!
Just had my first on Christmas! My contractions were so intense from 8 to 10 centimeters and I wish I would have known about the coughing breaths! Better late than never and I can still use this for the next baby! So thankful for your videos, they were very helpful getting through the early stages of labor! 🩷
I would love to buy your course, but even discounted because I am in Australia it will cost me $300 so I just can't do it. I wish I could but it's not in my families budget. SO I really really appreciate these youtube videos.
I thank you so much for sharing your knowledge. These breathing exercises played a huge role in my easy delivery. I don't know what I would've done if I didn't learn and practice these breathing techniques. Natural birth with no pain management.
I am helping my wife out with breathing. I watched your video on the moo breathing or J breathing. The cough breath and Moo breathing seem to be at the same time. Can I use either or?
My hypnobirthing book recommends to exhale through the nose for all breathing exercises which I find challenging. Exhaling through the mouth comes naturally to me. Do you have any insight on why one method would be better than the other?
I like the coughing method idea! I pushed my 3rd out as hard as i could for two minutes straight, withiut letting up, because i wanted him out 😂 Im sooo thankful that i didnt tear! He was my biggest baby too! 😅
While I ultimately had to have a c-section, your techniques got me through contractions from being dilated at a 3 to a 7. After that i got an epidural but am so thankful for the mindfulness you helped me achieve prior to pain relief ❤
I love your videos so much! When I try to click on some of the links in the description (go to and must have lists, specifically) I get an error message. 😢 is anyone else experiencing this?
Bridget, I have a quick question for you! I just rewatched your older video on J-breathing (or “mooing” during pushing and was just wondering if you recommend the cough even more now? Or if there are pros and cons to both? I’m due in 5 days with my second baby and would love to not have an epidural like I did with my first!
Wow I can't imagine doing that during labor but I'll definitely try next time. Hope it doesn't end in switching between holding my breath and screaming again 😆
Bridget, quick question for you! I just finished rewatching your older video on J-breathing (or “mooing”) during the pushing phase and was wondering if you recommend the cough push more now? Or if there are just pros and cons to both? I’m 5 days away from my due date with my second and am really hoping to not have an epidural like I did with my first! 🙏🏼❤️
Great question! I use both breathing techniques. J breathing helps bring baby down and out if an active push is needed. Cough pushing is more when baby is crowning and coming fast to help ease baby out without an active push.
Hi! I'm trying to search for the exact candle you had in your instagram reel for nighttime feeds, but your amazon list links aren't working :( Your individual product links work, but the ones that connect to your full lists/categories aren't. Can you please show the link for that flameless candle? :)
Does anyone have any tips on how to get myself to dilate? Im 38 weeks and only half a centimeter. If im not at least 3 cm in 2 weeks ill have to get a c section. Really trying for this vbac!!

39 weeks 5 days today! This waiting game is so weird! Nervous to feel labor pains but reminding myself I’m BUILT TO BIRTH!
Best wishes mama!! Hope you have a great labor and delivery!
How did it go?
I hope you're doing well. I'm 39 wk and 2 days. Feeling the same❤

Very true. More than birthing itself. Induction is more painful.😢.M getting induced on Jan 16th. Scared n excited at the same time.

Just ask to remove oxytocin once first contractions start..... You are Beautiful and You will be fine ❤
Best wishes mama!!!

I don’t have enough oxygen in my lungs to release the horse lips for 6 seconds lol 😅

I can confirm that this is truly helpful thank God I saw your videos
Did you do the cough thing? Did it help? I love these videos
The built to birth course is filled with so much great information and is really organized. I just finished the BIRTH course, and I plan on rewatching some of the videos!!
Entering the 37th week and hoping to do this without an epidural!! These techniques will come in handy!!
You got this mama!!!
Great information!
Just to clarify, as we perform the exhale cough, are we still pushing ? Hope that’s a clear question!
Preparing for my first baby in April! This is very helpful 😁
I'm preparing for my first natural birth in April. Good luck mommy ❣️

😂😂 i cant do horse lips at all!
Can the panting breath help as well instead of the cough breath for crowning?
When can we start practicing this technique
Today My 34 weeks This tacehnick
can I practice to start now?
39 weeks + 3 days and impatiently waiting for baby #2!! Ready to meet this little one and not be pregnant. Lol
Best wishes mama!! Hope your labor and delivery go great!!
Do you have experience with successful plus size VBAC? Any advice in addition to breathing for this population of mamas?
Hi is the breathing would be any different for mamas with haemorrhoid? Just had my external stage4 prolapse and bleed 😢
