How To wind back the rear caliper piston on a MK1 MX-5.
This is one of those jobs where unless you know, ... youre gonna be stuck.
This set up, although really clever, never caught on with other manufacturers so this isn't your conventional way of doing this job. Because we are creatures of habit, this is what causes most of us to be stuck when we come across something different.
instead of winding the piston back using wind back tools or something to compress it manually, its a simple 14mm bolt which protects a No. 4 Allan key which winds the piston back.
failing to recognise this is what causes misdiagnosed seized calipers.
