    Looks good, try without sauté the spinach (the flavor is very different and much better), instead sauté onions and garlic. Also instead of kale chips, buy the kale put it in a bowl with lemon juice and orange juice, fresh, leave it over night (you can use it the whole week), this will make the kale smooth and with an amazing flavor.........

    I've been making these every day for the past week. So good. I've been using the fresh ground almond butter you grind yourself at whole foods. Here on the east coast we don't have those kale munchies so I bought the "Brad's Raw Chips" spicy kale chips that they also sell at whole foods. Such a great sandwich, and very good for any vegan diets.

    I like the version with onions and kale on the pan, then mix in egg whites. I use a 50 calorie wrap that is green in color. Sometimes I use this other wrap, which is larger, and has only 90 calories. The type of bread you use adds the most calories the any Renergy sandwich. I have since started to make my own variations. Really awesome. I never thought I'd like Almond butter on a sandwich mixed with veggies. Recently, I put Almond butter on my 50 calorie herb tortilla, with some premixed salad, the kind with lettuce, carrot, cabbage. I added a little avocado, sriracha, and kale.
    BTW, Kale is a super food, full of vitamins and minerals. One of the best plants to eat.

    Rener... great job on the video. I made this sandwich this morning and found it to be fun to make. I made my own kale chips in the oven, which was also pretty fun. The videos for making kale chips are all over UA-cam. After eating one of the Renergy Breakfast Sandwiches, I did feel a bit ill. The taste was surprisingly good, not sure why it made me feel sick. I guess I am not familiar with the combination of ingredients. I'll try again in a week or so... keepin it real in the south.

      I was my eggs before I break them open because of the cross contamination. There is all kinds of crap on food, and even bottles etc, when sitting on shelves and warehouses. Think of all the stuff you've picked up and set down, Times that my how many hands etc. I wash everything I get and use that people can touch in a store etc.

    • @livebyreason
      @livebyreason 7 років тому +1

      Wrong. The knife can introduce microorganisms as you cut inward...which is a problem since this ingredient is uncooked.

    • @caltha2720
      @caltha2720 6 років тому

      While I am not careful, I'll happily eat an unwashed apple... etc... there is good reason to wash things. Here in Australia, 5 people have died recently from Listeria contaminated rockmelons. A lot of the time it is the elderly or people with compromised immune systems... but there is logic to it. Also, the Listeria as far as I know contaminates the surface of the rockmelons, and contaminates the fruit when it is cut. Long story short, you will probably be fine if you don't wash it, but if you have time, it doesn't hurt to take 10 seconds to wash it.

    Rener is right on with this sandwich! According to the research, which was published in the February issue of the journal Cell Metabolism, eating a bowl of spinach every day makes your muscles "profoundly" more efficient. Researchers found that eating 300g spinach reduced the amount of oxygen needed to power muscles when exercising by as much as five percent.

  • @pr0n3
    @pr0n3 11 років тому

    Yup, pretty much what I stated. You just stated to "don't cook with olive oil". I just wanted to state its perfectly fine to use it and it has many benefits as long as you don't go near smoking point. Cheers mang.

  • @pr0n3
    @pr0n3 11 років тому

    Olive oil is still fine to use as long as you don't take it anywhere near its smoking point. If you keep it at low temps, it won't oxidize and release/create the toxins you speak of. Regardless olive oil does have a lot of anti-oxidants and you can also use "grass fed" butter to stabilize it while cooking.

  • @Geeker13
    @Geeker13 13 років тому

    The ingredients which make spinach work so well are the nitrates found abundantly in spinach. Nitrates make the mitochondria, the "engine rooms" of cells, more efficient.

    I just made this for the first time today for lunch and it is really good! I was skeptical, but I really enjoyed it and will make this a regular part of my diet. I did a few things differently though for anyone interested:
    1. I use Sunbutter instead of Almond Butter...sunbutter is "peanut butter" but it's made from sunflower seeds...tastes AWESOME and has a better nutritional profile IMHO
    2. I used Hot & Spice Vegan Cheese flavored Kale Chips

    You can make your own Kale if its not around just put it single layer on a cookie sheet with parchment paper put your cayenne pepper on it etc... pull it out when its crispy. You're good...also you can put spinach or any fruit in a bowl with apple cider vinegar and let the soak it'll remove the pesticides etc.

    It is evening, but I started making the sandwich this morning. I picked the kale and made my own air dried kale snacks because, sure as hell if you can't find it easily there I am not going to find it in sydney ns canada!

    I will admit I was curious about how this sandwich would taste so I actually made it this morning, but I had sauteed spinach and scrambled egg whites and no dried kale. I was surprised by the taste and texture, the almond butter definitely makes this sandwich good and I found that the egg whites "wash" out some of the flavor so omitting the egg whites would be a good idea the next time around. :-)

    awesome sandwich! great mix, the two slices of bread make up a good amount of carbs while the almond butter makes up the protein. All while the kale and spinach add to both plus fibre and other nutrients. In terms of calories its great too cause, since almonds are a calorie dense food it gives a lot of calories. Whats even better is everthing is organic !!

    I learned peeling avocados from watching this video. Best way to do it. I put one avocado on one sandwich. Love this stuff

    Mate, you need a video on the humble avocado smoothie which is common in Vietnamese restaurants but underappreciated generally. You can also make an awesome chocolate pudding out of avos - no need for cooking.

    You can dry the kale in the microwave, is the same like the kale munchies , 2-3 and that’s it
