yes - this... every time I got notifications is like - ooo ... nice... some long, interesting something to watch! I'll probably never gonna visited US and it is so nice to see those places like that :D
My jaw dropped at a part 2, I was so confused by this being a recent subscription until it clocked it was a part 2, part 1 is my comfort video. I howled at the Johnny Rockets Dig.
Kaisserschmarrn isn’t quite presented like the ones I’m used to in the austrian alps, but it’s literally the best dessert around! I’ll never forget the day I went up a mountain, had kaisserschmerrn for the first time and then couldn’t button up my salopettes to snowboard back down the mountain 😂
Loved the video, Safiya! I gobbled up your LV videos around the holidays last year as I had just made my first visit to that wild city in October and loved it, despite only doing a handful of experiences and not eating at any of the popular restaurants except for Best Friend (I did very little research going in). Haha I find this so interesting - Vegas seems to be a foodie town. I have to point it out. The Kaiserschmarrn looks rather like "Salzburger Nockerl" which is also Austrian, but the preparation is different. The dishes are kind of the cousins of sweet main courses/deserts in Austria, though.
OMG if you do a Gordon Ramsey Restaurant Off PLEASE make it actually comparable! :D Like always ordering the same dish as a reference and then always a dish of whatever the waiter recommends to keep it interesting 👀 I would LOVE that :D
Safiya, I can't get over your fantastic voice. It's so crisp, clean and you also have great grammar. I love that you pronounce etcetera correctly. My biggest pet peeve is "eccetera".
I love watching your food videos because when you talk about it I always think of that ratatouillie scene "do you get that? An oakey nutiness." And I mean it in the nicest way. 😂
20:26 actually chef is an allegorical retelling of favreau's experience with marvel studios. the restaurant is supposed to represent working for marvel and the food truck represents indie movies. he creates a menu thats super successful because he had relative creative control (iron man) and then when the menu is updated its constantly interfered with by the owners of the restaurant (iron man 2). so he leaves and makes a food truck that inspires him to get back into filmmaking (weirdly enough the truck kind of represents the movie chef itself lol)
So, only one segment in, and I wanted to comment that I feel like a really good traditional 'home cooking' style Americana restaurant like Martha Stewarts restaurant has MASSIVE appeal and this is one of the first ones I've seen ever. Like steakhouses or grills are not the same. It seems strange that this isn't more common.
Not sure if a different Austrian has commented this before however, Kaiserschmarrn in fact is often eaten as a main course in Austria! (As are a lot of other sweet dishes too like Germknödel, Marillenknödel etc) Think thats because it's such a big dish, i don't think I ever managed to finish one by myself! So eat your Kaiserschmarrn or no dessert!! 😂
International Smoke is always one of our go to restaurants in Vegas! The ribs are insane! Also ate at Spago for my 30th bday and sat fountainside. I believe I ordered the bolognese pasta which was delish. One of the top dining experiences of my life!
i didn't realize that this is a new video bc the thumbnail looked pretty much the same like the other 2 until safiya mentioned that joe got divorced😭😭 eas fully prepared to rewatch it
One of the reasons you guys are so fun to watch is that you actually like each other. As well as whatever you’re covering, it’s watching two best friends hanging out, finishing each other’s sentences and just enjoying each other’s company - it’s so heartwarming!
I had the exact same experience there and I still give Johnny Rockets the stink eye when I pass one. I was in Vegas last week and walked by the JR at the Luxor and gave them one in Saf’s honor.
I went back and watched the first one before this, and someone else noted the lack of unpleasant chewing noises - which, in turn, really got me to notice how smoothly you transition from speaking in the moment to voice-over whenever somebody takes a bite. It really contributes to the chill, calming mood of these videos.
Martha Stewart actually went to prison in Alderson, WV which is a really small town. Most of the women in prison there are people who grew up in poverty and wound up incarcerated due to drug offenses (although there have been a few high profile people like Martha). I knew people who met her while she was there and everyone said that she was really lovely and kind. She actually even maintained a friendship with at least one of the women for several years after she got out. No idea if she’s still in contact with anyone, but always nice to see a celebrity who treats others with kindness and doesn’t think she’s above poor people!
....or maybe, Martha was just smart enough to realize how much trouble she was in, and made nice because you typically live longer that way. Being someone who made her way in the world pretty much based on her social skills, this was probably a better plan.
@@TheSaneHatter How much trouble she was in? The woman was convicted of insider trading in a case that makes what most Congressmen do look like pennies and only served a few months. Also as I mentioned, it’s a prison almost entirely full of non-violent offenders. They aren’t sending a woman guilty of insider trading to maximum security. There was no “living longer” because this is real life and not a movie. The majority of inmates there are poor women who were sucked into a life of drugs because of their partners. ETA: I said this backwards but I’m not going to change the original message itself because then it gets confusing. What most Congressmen do makes Martha’s crime look like pennies, not the other way around. I think it was less than $100,000 that she was convicted over.
@@brennan3723 Yeah I think people have this idea that all prisons are like you're a second from death at all times because of movies. It *can* be like that in certain places like with violent offenders but the vast majority aren't like that. They're actually just extremely sad places to be.. both for workers and prisoners.
@@Eventide215 Yeah, the Alderson women’s prison is absolutely not some crazy place like the movies. I mean, at the time Martha was sentenced, the media made jokes about how cushy the prison she was getting sent to was. I’m pretty sure she even compared going there to an Ivy League school. I should also clarify that I was young when she was there and I remember people talking about befriending her, but it was probably the families she stayed in contact with and not the prisoners themselves since I assume that would have been a violation of her parole. But she was well-liked and I think even became like a liaison between the women and the administration. Extremely sad is 100% accurate though. The ladies used to come talk at my school when I was younger (a good sign that they aren’t gonna like shank Martha Stewart or whatever) as a scared straight/DARE type of thing, and their stories were almost always along the lines of “I grew up poor, I started dating a bad guy, he got me addicted to drugs, and now I’m in prison. I miss my kids and family.” It was depressing. There were a few violent criminals there at the same time, but I’d guess the Manson girls weren’t really interacting with her. okay but how SWEET is it that Jonas Senior dedicated this whole restaurant idea to his grandmother? It's such a nice way to remember a person by, just by keeping their recipes alive it's like they're with you while you eat
I couldn’t help but crack up seeing the stark contrast between you guys at Martha’s fancy restaurant. Safiya is dressed in a beautiful black dressy outfit and Tyler in the Patagucci tshirt 🤣🤣🤣 I freaking love you guys lol. I have rewatched the Vegas series at LEAST 20 times so this was an amazing surprise!
love that she clarifies that they know this is boujee and they don’t normal eat like that, like she’s keeping it so real. but it’s okay girl this is your job you don’t gotta give disclaimers we love this type of content
A man goes to a doctor, a despondence wore upon his face like an ill-fitting shirt over a model. “Doctor, I’m depressed,” the man says; life is harsh, unforgiving, cruel, and he was definitely a stranger in a strange land. The doctor lights up. The treatment, after all, is simple. “The great fashion maker Patagucci is in town tonight,” the doctor says, “Go and see his runway show! That should sort you out.” The man bursts into tears. “But doctor,” he says, “I am Patagucci.”
@aomeke8368 it is an allusion to the Pagalicci joke, and Patagucci is a play on that joke and on Pagalicci because both Pagalicci and Patagucci are similar looking words. "Despondence wore upon his face like an ill-fitting shirt of a model." is a pun and allusion to what Patagucci (fictionally) does as his occupation; also despondence is his facial expression and another layer in that sentence is that of course he would be sad if shirt couldn't fit the model or his model couldn't wear a shirt properly on the runway or he's constantly depressed whether the model or he have fucked up or not. All this for the sake of the joke
In the same essence as the Vegas hotels, celebrity restaurants, amusement parks, and weird hotels I would love and think you guys would love DOLLYWOOD! It is amazing in all forms and the theming is ✨chefs kiss✨
NO WAY I just finished rewatching the original Vegas series (including the restaurant video) for like the 15th time or something, this timing is PERFECT.
This just reminded me of how when I was 10 I would watch all the chef competition shows and had a hardcore crush on Bobby flay and was then subsequently devastated when I found out he was married
as a European, I especially love those Vegas videos. everything is so larger-than-life and over the top, we simply don't have anything like that in here - that's what makes them so fascinating! I loved the amtrak video too.
If you do ever go to Vegas or a big casino you should have a amount of money that you are willing and able to spend and then stop. Or just go to the casinos for the buffets
@@StickerSupremecy127 I'd never want to live in the US. Not ever. I didn't say that I find the US better in any way, because I'd choose Europe over and over again; I just find it quite odd and fascinating.

love that she clarifies that they know this is boujee and they don’t normal eat like that, like she’s keeping it so real. but it’s okay girl this is your job you don’t gotta give disclaimers we love this type of content
$100 for a roast chicken is absolutely insane
that’s how I felt with the $30 shallow bowl of gnocchi😢
The fact that Tyler is wearing the same Patagucci shirt a year later cracks me up 😂
A man goes to a doctor, a despondence wore upon his face like an ill-fitting shirt over a model.
That should sort you out.”
The man bursts into tears.
“But doctor,” he says, “I am Patagucci.”
@@xondiscoi wish i understood this joke please explain
@@xondisco???
@@aomeke8368basically saying he looks terrible and he’s (patagucci) the designer XD
Yes!!! We might need a vegas series, where Safiya and Tyler also try every vegas buffet and rank those.
Absolutely! Yes! Please!!! Although, unless they rehabbed Bally's buffet, I wouldn't recommend it.
I would be worried about Tyler’s health with how much that man can eat 😂 damn that would be so good though
“Tyler I hate to tell you, and your plantar fasciitis, but we need to go back to Vegas.”
- Saf probably
YES!
Who do you think she is keith?
Honestly they should collaborate.......
In the same essence as the Vegas hotels, celebrity restaurants, amusement parks, and weird hotels I would love and think you guys would love DOLLYWOOD! It is amazing in all forms and the theming is ✨chefs kiss✨
Yes, yes, YES to Dollywood!!🤩
I did like the scenery but the gift shops were expensive
NO WAY I just finished rewatching the original Vegas series (including the restaurant video) for like the 15th time or something, this timing is PERFECT.
ME TOO WTF :0
Same just yesterday actually
me four hahaa!
Me five!! Except I think my rewatch was last week
I mean if you really watched it that many times there were 15 opportunities for perfect timing ; p
Tyler: it’s North Carolinian. It’s taking me home.
Both: “Country Roads?”
Soul mates
I’m sorry, but 85 DOLLARS FOR A SMALL PIZZA???????????? I…- I’m speechless.
I love how you add so much context to tell who each celebrity is
It's super useful as I don't know most of these people 😂
ooo, the Gordon vs Gordon vs Gordon vs Gordon vs Gordon vs Gordon is a must watch for me!!!
This should be the video title 😂
@@ElleAlexandria I'll freak out if it is lol
SAME!!!!
Martha’s friendship with Snoop Dog is one of my favourite things about the human race.
IKR?!? I cannot love it more. 💖💖💖💖
A Gordon Ramsay restaurant face off is definately a part 3 of these 100% 😍❤🙌🏻
This just reminded me of how when I was 10 I would watch all the chef competition shows and had a hardcore crush on Bobby flay and was then subsequently devastated when I found out he was married
as a European, I especially love those Vegas videos. everything is so larger-than-life and over the top, we simply don't have anything like that in here - that's what makes them so fascinating! I loved the amtrak video too.
If you do ever go to Vegas or a big casino you should have a amount of money that you are willing and able to spend and then stop.
Or just go to the casinos for the buffets
as a European, I love watching it and then I go back to reasonably sized & priced portions of quality food... Fascinating nonetheless!
Dude.. theres way cooler shit in Europe, to me anyway.
I guess the grass is always greener
@@StickerSupremecy127 I'd never want to live in the US. Not ever. I didn't say that I find the US better in any way, because I'd choose Europe over and over again; I just find it quite odd and fascinating.
The Amtrak video is soooo good! Peak comfort viewing 🤩
