The way the rhythm mechanics empower the gameplay is Very Interesting and I think does a lot for making the game EASIER to get into even Unlike say, Crypt of the Necrodancer, the Rhythm does not compel the player to keep up, in Crypt, failure to keep up steals away turns, and enforces a haste and cadence on an otherwise sedate genre pace, character action already has a battle-rhythm, and this gets empowered and structured by the systems, things naturally encourage you to grasp the flow due to everything synching on beats, and being off-beat has low penalty, this also extends to Learning How To Play, a semi-common complaint I notice when people try to get into character action or fighting games or the like is not knowing how quickly to do specific combos or the rhythm for them, the systems here enforce specific timing and pacing that removes that question, its not about asking when the next input happens, you just naturally flow into it because almost every attack hits on the beat(and those that don't can't combo, save for into Beat Hit), it also helps untrain "mashing", the game is very insistent on acting with Intent in each input, unraveling that reflex to just Hit Things Faster
I kinda agree, I tried playing this game and it made me miss when games tune the music to you, not you having to force yourself to only attack when the game lets you. Makes Hi Fi rush kinda boring
