Holy... sniekes... and here Riku was. Being my favorite character, guess I have more reason for it now! I've always thought that the tossing of a Paopu was a symbolism of the characters fates being intertwined with each others. Now that Sora had shared one with Kairi she's going to be the one to save him, or some BS like that. So cool that Riku wasn't totally in the wrong though now that you stop to think about it.

Audiences now notice it more in the age of content creation because they feel rewarded for finding “clues” in long running series. Like marvel when every single scene seems to have symbolism to hint at future plot points. Its cool, can engage the audience, and can create a sense of community by having people get together to discuss things in a product they like and work out “puzzles”. But its nothing new and is a very commonly used enhancement in story telling.
@@supershadic135 Kairi and Xion and Namine? Let's not act like this community isn't primarily an anime community that would waifu any female characters.
@@supershadic135 People make waifus out of every character, A lot of people liked Bulma when she was 16 and many people have Persona Waifus which like 90% of which are under 18 anyway. I used to have a crush on KH2 Kairi even as a teenager, and that doesn't really change just because I got older simply because she's fictional.
I'm generally fine with shitting on Ux because there's a lot wrong with it in most ways. What kind of question is "what about the character specifically do you like?" What do you like about Roxas or Sora or Riku? Name specific lines of dialogue. It's an aggressive question. But I'll answer the question. Laurium has interesting moments regarding his relationship with his sister Strelitzia, and his arc is ultimately coming to terms with her death - or, at least, finding his resolve on what to do about it. His moments with her are heartwarming, and the actions he takes afterward convincing. It also grants interesting context for his future actions in CoM. No, it's not executed well, but those are specific things that I liked. Brain is the quasi-leader with the book of prophecies and his defining moments are often analyzing the intentions of the MoM and the union leaders, as well as directly interrogating the darkness. Moreover, his final moments on screen are spent putting himself on the line in an attempt to save everybody, and then whatever happened with Luxu. Again, it isn't some masterpiece storytelling, arguably awful. Nonetheless, those are specific things that I like. I hope that's satisfying. If it makes you feel any better, yeah, every other protagonist sucks. The leaders suck, Ephemer's entire personality is being friends with Skuld and the Player, Skuld's entire personality is practically the same but female, and the Player (justifiably) has no personality at all. Ephemer builds Scala, which is cool I guess, Skuld has kids and she eventually creates Xehanort(?), and the Player becomes Xehanort. Cool. All are pretty whatever. (People think Xehanort's mom looks hot???? I thought people were interested in that because she looks like Skuld) The closest Ephemer and Skuld get to actual character development is while Daybreak is getting consumed by darkness and they kinda console each other, and Ephemer helps Skuld out of her pod which I guess could be viewed as chivilrous or something, and Skuld is teary eyed. So, uh, Ephemer is a stereotypical male hero character and Skuld is a typical female side kick character? Yeah, I don't think anybody with any knowledge and general storytelling tropes can say they're interesting or unique in any way. The most you could say is that the tropes were used somewhat effectively given the circumstances, I guess? Elrena aka Larxene shows up and is like "Hi I'm going in the arc :) Oh and Laurium I promise to help you avenge the death of your sister and defeat the darkness!!!". Cool and great and excellent character, wowie. The only interesting thing about her appearance here is that she's sickly sweet, while in CoM she's sadistic. Who knows why, but cool I guess. Oh, and Ventus. He exists. Gets possessed by darkness. Kinda says a lot when he has a lot more character development in BBS than here in his chronological debut. Yup. I also agree that Dream Eaters being the deceased keyblade warriors is, kinda cool, but whatever? Dream Eaters didn't really need the justification but it being there is cool. I think the more problematic thing is... well, just the entirety of DDD, tbh. I'm not losing my mind over Ux. I just casually think it's kinda cool. I too find the hype-beasts obnoxious but the pushback feels just as obnoxious. KH has a bizarre and confused storyline that I've the unfortunate circumstance of being deeply invested in. I'll see it through and laugh at it and maybe even like things occasionally. That's how it goes. (also, not to boil your blood, but I like the human names for org 13, laurium and elrena are pog names ;P)
Something I could kind of respect regarding MoM and his willingness to sacrifice people, is he was planning on being a vessel for one of the darkness himself. He wasn’t planning on only sacrificing others and escaping unscathed.
I can't believe Xehanort has a mom, do you all think he maybe has a dad too? That would blow my mind. Joking aside so glad there is a place where people generally share my overall opinions on the direction the series took.
on the disc topic he brought up, my local walmart sells the cards for the digital versions of switch games for 10 dollars more than the physical copies of the same games, so the transition is coming sooner than later, imo
Idk about other people but personally I find the ux xehanort thing funny rather than trying to extrapolate shit from it. It's just the implication that you, the player, are also xehanort
people that get way into kh lore who absolutely cannot take criticism are so wild to me like bro kh is fundamentally a goofy and wacky series, it's ok to chill out for two seconds
So dumb question: Since you yeet out of Station, what the fuck is your stat spread and level up list by default? I assume its like, +Sword -Shield? Not that it matters a ton with randomized stats, but I'm just sorta curious what the game's default is
Laurium arguably has the most character development. He is totally bipolar. One scene he is gushing over his dead sister and the next scene he’s like, “Hey Maleficent, want some death?”
So the new promise Charms are: 2 Log Charms Cloth Charm Rope Charm 2 Mushroom Charms 3 Fish Charms Seagull Egg Charm Coconut Charm and Fresh drinking water Charm
i agree with a lot of the lore/Union X talk because i cant understand why people find the lore in this series interesting. I never played union x but it all just seems like cardboard cutouts talking about how bad stuffs gonna happen, darkness, and undercooked mysteries that arent planned out. Its probably why i think days is my favourite game plotwise, barely having to do with the overall story of the series and just being focused on three dudes being friends and their characters. The scraps of character development and character interaction in the games are much more interesting to me than the “deep lore” or symbolism or whatever. I’m not saying you shouldn’t theorize about this stuff, but I’m not sure why people take it so seriously or hail it as some genius thing or whatever when it feels unplanned and has more of a focus on “what cool thing can happen now?” than a legit story with characters I do like these games btw, I just enjoy and laugh at the plot and dialogue in a so bad it’s good way and don’t take it seriously
@@thesovereignspark No I understand that it’s terrible writing and it could way better than what it’s come to be. That’s the fucked up part. Nomura’s writing is like a dude who’s trying to tell you a story about what happened to him, but he constantly stops to introduce random people and give you a rundown of their week up until the time the story takes place, and then ends up confusing himself and starts making shit up. And the KH fanbase are divided into two people. One guy who rolls his eyes and goes “Damn, that’s crazy”, and the other dude that’s foaming at mouth thinking it’s the craziest thing he’s ever heard.
I'll admit the only cool things about the characters of KH is what happens to them, and some of their designs. But this part seemed like BB was just trying to overly sell the point on why he's not interested in the story anymore (totally fair btw) by playing gotcha with the chat. He said he's just "generally curious" to sound like he's being fair but when someone answered his question, he ignored it. BB asked what's cool about the characters, and someone replied the cool thing is what happens around them, which I agree with. He then asked what's cool things that happen around them, and someone replied with the Ephemer making Scala idea. BB then went back to "OK what's cool about Ephemer himself though" as if he never asked about the setting.
I only care about KH's plot in as much as it makes for interesting gameplay and/or character moments. Which means I only like what spans from BBS to the end of 2 and it seems like not much is gonna change that.
More and more I feel like they're less going for "Good Guy" and more "Incredibly fucked up idiot who thinks he has great ideas", cause the more I think on his weird actions near the end of KH3, the more I'm reminded of Char Aznable from Gundam Who is also an incredibly fucked up idiot who takes no responsibility for his actions He's a good guy for all of one show where he can conveniently avoid responsibility for his actions against others, and then a decade later decides that nope, gotta "solve" things myself, by which he means "drop a motherfucking giant asteroid into the planet, killing most of Earth-bound humanity, because the survivors will move to space!", and then he gets shanked by his old rival who's spent his entire young adult life in a midlife crisis, and realizes he was a dumbass fuckup for like five seconds, then he... maybe? dies, space magic happened and the two of them just blipped out of existence Xehanort has the same level of incredibly fucked up plan to fix a problem that doesn't need fixing to that degree, or urgency, because he feels nobody else could ever fix it or be fit to make a judgment about it, and I feel like THAT can to a degree be worked in, Xehanort was inquisitive and research inclined, so him making this dumbass conclusion about Tyranny of Light(which to be fair, Eraqus would not have helped the view of) isn't outlandish, just late to the party, him being an unrepentant asshole at the same time doesn't say he can't have had some thought of what he should fix, even evil overlords don't want a leaky bathroom, and for all his darkness abuse, his plots did all converge back at forcing balance, X-Blade and whathaveyou But yeah Xehanort's a really stretched character and its gonna be messy seeing what they try next to do to him post-mortem
Doubt BB will see this but Ripple Drive works off your Magic stat and your magic stat is pretty hot garbage this run. (I think that's separate from MP, although it is derived from it).
I replaced original kh1 with my girlfriend recently on proud mode. And she beat riku ansem FIRST TRY. I was so pissed dude, we strolled up and I was like "hey, just so you know this boss is going to be really tough, almost no one beats him in one try" 10 ars arcanum later she just looked at me and said "that was it? He was harder on destiny islands"
How to dragon maleficent as a child hide on thorns use Tinkerbell and just wait for Donald and goofy to get her down and more waiting before thinking I can get a hit in and be out of magic just to die immediately and die again because of the fire just to so it again
on the topic of xehanort, I don't think he was a good person at all. however, I don't fully disagree with what he was trying to do in terms of making a better world. However hurting people and destorying worlds is not the way to do it, I like xehanort as a character because of his depth, master of masters does not seem like a compelling character atm outside of "he's super smart" because all he has atm is "me want beat darkness, lul"
Like what you want to like. I don't like anything that came after KH2fm, but I'm glad people are able to get enjoyment out of it. I wish I still loved the series like I used to and got that same level of joy out of it again. I just pretend the series ended with 2 and that works for me. Everyone having the same tastes would be boring.
Kingdom Hearts story has been mid for too long, man. I played a bit of Ux back in 2016 but I hated how I had to basically buy good medals and flashier attacks. Only cool thing about it is that it had a Wreck It Ralph world except with a silent protagonist. And even then it felt out of place considering where the main story was
The reason why kh3’s story sucks is because of KHUX and DR. We should have learned all about Xehanort before his saga ended not after. Like I don’t give a fuck any more about him any more.
Sadly, negative podcasts are kind of BB's M.O. when it comes to a lot of things KH related. I think he's clearly a passionate fan that's just a little disappointed with where the series has gone and saddened by the fact that the lore no longer interests him as it did when he was younger. That's completely fine and respectable, and I feel the same way with a lot of aspects about KH lore. But for some reason, him and chat are just insanely pessimistic and rude about the things they don't like. It's one thing to explain why you dislike something, but BB and chat avidly attack fans of the things they don't enjoy for some reason. It's really bizarre and makes him look like a prick. He even feels the need to attack people in chat sometimes. His first KH1 rando vid had some dude in chat poking fun at BB for maybe not knowing a chest location in Hollow Bastion, and BB got all flustered and rude saying shit like "what the fuck are you talking about?" and "yeah we speak English on this stream buddy." His ego when it comes to his gaming abilities was attacked and he lashed out. He's just devolved into a bit of an ass. As a fan for five years, these continuous attacks on people who enjoy things he doesn't are just so fucking exhausting. Like yes dude we get it, these people have bad taste for liking something you do not. It's driven me away from this channel something fierce to the point where I don't watch it anymore. He's clearly attracted a group of people who enjoy dismissing and blatantly attacking people who enjoy things they don't. It's very obviously clear with the comment sections on each of his vids and his Twitch chat as well, expressing "excitement" for getting to see KH fans get shit on. It's fuckin weird. At this point, any time you tune into a BB stream/vod, you should just expect a group of fans to be attacked with insults that make them seem stupid or lesser for enjoying things they like and showing their passion and excitement for them. It's just the kind of guy he is.
You're right about me being disappointed in KH storytelling, but attacking people? I don't think at any point did I say people are stupid, or insult their intelligence in this video. I said people like to overreach when they analyze the lore, but if thats how people enjoy the story, then that's totally fine.
@@Bl00dyBizkitz BB, I truly enjoy your content. I've been watching you since I was in middle school, and I'm going into my sophomore year of college now, so please don't take me as some random ass attacking your videos, but I do feel like a lot of the time you can come off as being a bit of a bully when it comes to things you don't enjoy. There was a moment in a 2FM rando vod where somebody in chat was looking forward to playing KH3 on the PS5, and you dismissed them by saying "who gives a fuck about Kingdom Hearts 3?" Saying things like this and then claiming that it's totally fine for people to like other things is a bit disingenuous, because you made a vague and rude targeted statement that came off as though nobody except that person cared about that video game. Some moments on this stream are another example. I completely agreed with you saying you don't care about the characters in UX because honestly I don't either, but you took it a step further and began questioning how anybody could possibly enjoy or care about the characters. Anytime you start doing this it doesn't feel like you genuinely believe people should have a right to enjoy whatever they want, because you continuously call into question their passion. What is there to gain from that? I don't want to sit here and point out every single time it felt like you were bullying people with different interests than you, but I legitimately think you should have a look at the kind of people you attract when you have talks like this. There are comments of people claiming KH fans have an inferiority complex, others of people getting excited to see you shitting on KH fanboys, etc. Do you actually believe you're coming off as somebody who respects what other people enjoy? Again man, I say this as a saddened fan of five or more years. If you genuinely believe you're being as considerate as you possibly can of other people's interests then continue doing what you're doing. But I would seriously take a look at the negativity and rudeness these streams attract and seriously reflect on if you're truly doing your best in that department.
@@JackisJack_ I have an extremely hard time believing that I would say "who gives a fuck about KH3" in response to someone's comment like that on stream. You'd have to actually find the video and timestamp for me to check. As far as this video, I didn't question "how anybody could enjoy or care about the characters". I constantly asked, "where are the moments of character development?" and "in what ways do you guys connect with these characters", but never once did I say it was impossible to enjoy the characters or that anyone was stupid because they enjoyed them. Clone Loli definitely takes it too far sometimes, but that's the thing dude. What you define as me "shitting on KH fanboys" is what I define as "explaining why fanboys overreach when they look at the KH lore". You clearly see it differently. That's all there is to it.
@@Bl00dyBizkitz I really wish I had the time to scour each rando vod and find that clip, but I don't. If you don't believe you said it then don't worry about it ig, lol. All I remember was that you were quick running to Roxas in TWTNW and somebody in chat brought up load times for 2FM on PS5, you mentioned the Xbox Series X being stronger, and then somebody else mentioned KH3 load times on PS5 to which you dismissed it with "who gives a fuck about KH3." I promise you I wouldn't make something that trivial up. If you really think you have never and will never come off as harsh whenever you discuss certain things you don't enjoy as much, or whenever somebody in chat says something you disagree with, then I can't help you. Obviously you have no control over your audience, and it would be stupid to try and criticize you for the things they say and do, but opinions and reactions like that are attracted to a certain type of conversational personality in the context of what you talk about, and I was hoping you'd be willing to try and understand why some of your fans view your talks about things you dislike in KH as a bit more aggressive attacks on the community and the games than what you are trying to portray when you make them. I don't think you're a bad dude at all, and the fact that you're sitting here explaining why you truly aren't trying to come off as mean proves that. I actually respect and am very intrigued and in agreement with the many opinions and insights you have on KH, but sometimes I just can't help but cringe whenever you talk about things you don't enjoy as much. They ultimately can just come off as harsh sometimes, especially to the people who might enjoy them. If you'd rather dismiss it as us just viewing things differently, then I guess there's not much more to talk about here.

Its cool, can engage the audience, and can create a sense of community by having people get together to discuss things in a product they like and work out “puzzles”. But its nothing new and is a very commonly used enhancement in story telling.

Plus waifu talk in a series seriously lacking waifus, we got like what? 4 choices?
@@CloneLoli Aqua and Larxene
@@supershadic135 Kairi and Xion and Namine? Let's not act like this community isn't primarily an anime community that would waifu any female characters.
@@CloneLoli those are children though, man. Aqua and Larxene are only legal “waifus”. And tbh KH is that last thing I would ever want to have “waifus”
What kind of question is "what about the character specifically do you like?"
What do you like about Roxas or Sora or Riku?
I thought people were interested in that because she looks like Skuld)
The closest Ephemer and Skuld get to actual character development is while Daybreak is getting consumed by darkness and they kinda console each other, and Ephemer helps Skuld out of her pod which I guess could be viewed as chivilrous or something, and Skuld is teary eyed.

They're separate, the 2FM server has a link to the 1FM rando server
i agree with a lot of the lore/Union X talk because i cant understand why people find the lore in this series interesting.
I’m not saying you shouldn’t theorize about this stuff, but I’m not sure why people take it so seriously or hail it as some genius thing or whatever when it feels unplanned and has more of a focus on “what cool thing can happen now?” than a legit story with characters
I do like these games btw, I just enjoy and laugh at the plot and dialogue in a so bad it’s good way and don’t take it seriously
I swear I'm starting to think that people are putting Nomura on the same pedestal that Hideo Kojima was on

Which means I only like what spans from BBS to the end of 2 and it seems like not much is gonna change that.
not implying that BBS had an amazing story/gameplay, it just sets up for later games that I do like.

HADOUKEN!!! @21:52
More and more I feel like they're less going for "Good Guy" and more "Incredibly fucked up idiot who thinks he has great ideas", cause the more I think on his weird actions near the end of KH3, the more I'm reminded of Char Aznable from Gundam
Who is also an incredibly fucked up idiot who takes no responsibility for his actions
He's a good guy for all of one show where he can conveniently avoid responsibility for his actions against others, and then a decade later decides that nope, gotta "solve" things myself, by which he means "drop a motherfucking giant asteroid into the planet, killing most of Earth-bound humanity, because the survivors will move to space!", and then he gets shanked by his old rival who's spent his entire young adult life in a midlife crisis, and realizes he was a dumbass fuckup for like five seconds, then he... maybe? dies, space magic happened and the two of them just blipped out of existence
Xehanort has the same level of incredibly fucked up plan to fix a problem that doesn't need fixing to that degree, or urgency, because he feels nobody else could ever fix it or be fit to make a judgment about it, and I feel like THAT can to a degree be worked in, Xehanort was inquisitive and research inclined, so him making this dumbass conclusion about Tyranny of Light(which to be fair, Eraqus would not have helped the view of) isn't outlandish, just late to the party, him being an unrepentant asshole at the same time doesn't say he can't have had some thought of what he should fix, even evil overlords don't want a leaky bathroom, and for all his darkness abuse, his plots did all converge back at forcing balance, X-Blade and whathaveyou
But yeah Xehanort's a really stretched character and its gonna be messy seeing what they try next to do to him post-mortem
now ill never know why sham doesn't like AoE cure

Who else you need to thirst over when you got Larxene and Aqua?!

on the topic of xehanort, I don't think he was a good person at all. however, I don't fully disagree with what he was trying to do in terms of making a better world. However hurting people and destorying worlds is not the way to do it, I like xehanort as a character because of his depth, master of masters does not seem like a compelling character atm outside of "he's super smart" because all he has atm is "me want beat darkness, lul"
He makes me feel stupid for liking khux
Dude, can you stop your chat from turning every video into a negative podcast, I can't finish this video, I'm sorry.
