  • Staring Deborah Raffin & Robert Englund
    A young woman begins to have nightmares where she believes that time stands still and she can see and hear future events. In her nightmares she keeps seeing an evil bald man. Her doctor can't figure out what is happening, but a government agent who hears about her visions tries to help her, as he is investigating a plane crash that appears to involve the bald man she keeps seeing.

    This is an excellent and underrated 70's movie in the vein of The Eyes Of Laura Mars stars the late Deborah Raffin. Why this never turns up on tv is beyond me like many excellent 70's and 80's tv movies , so instead we get repeat after repeat. Check out this little gem.

      Yes, like Laura Mars, it really captures the aesthetics of nineteen-seventies' New York, from the fashions to the urban landscapes and musical effects.

    I think it is so awesome how rare, obscure tv movies of the 1970s, 1980s, etc. are being shared on YT. Mind Over Murder is a really good one! The bad guy made me think of an evil "Mr. Clean." Side Note: It was a trip seeing Robert Englund!

    He didn't know Suzy had visions. He only discovered her because he saw her in the alleyway after he'd disposed of a body. And as a pretty, young woman (his usual target) and especially one who had seen evidence of his crime, he went after her. He was able to find her and where she lived because she dropped her bag with her identification in it while running. He doesn't have visions at all.

    Really love this movie, remember first seeing it on Lifetime network back in the early 80s. Definitely one of the best made for tv movies ever. Now, imagine how cool a remake of this world be in our modern age! But the bald man wouldn't be able to escape an airport that easily nowadays, he'd have to be a lot more tech savvy in doing his dastardly deeds. As far as the time-stop special effects, they're almost good enough the way they were I think.

    • @melodiefrances3898
      @melodiefrances3898 3 роки тому +3

      If they remade it they would get it wrong. They would believe that over the top special effects would be more important than story.

    I love these TV movies. So many and usually real good. What has happened to TV! This was the 70's and the white pants were satin and tight. I had a pair for dancing during the disco years. My husband wore polyester blends, that was in at that time, and boy did he looks good. Still does for that matter! Andrew was a good character actor but never saw him in a part like this. Just doesn't seem the type.

    I also remember seeing this for the first time, on Central Television, back in 1983. I really enjoyed it, and it is still enjoyable today. A pity that this version is a bit jerky in its movements, though. Still, it is great to see it again, because I have never seen it for years, don't know why. Deborah Raffin gives a thoroughly enjoyable performance as Susie, the professional dancer, who starts having premonitions about the bald man, who committed murder, after (bizarrely!) a light bulb blows in her face! Likewise, the bloke playing the bald man is ever so good, too. I don't think this is available at all, on DVD or Blu-ray, in Britain. It is good that UA-cam has got this version, although I do hope I can see a better quality version of this film, one day.

    Not bad, it had a certain quality to it. It was certainly better with fewer 'cheats' than many of the other tv horror-thrillers. Deborah's tight-fitting disco pants so summed up that era. And her total 'look' was just so "Cosmopolitan Magazine" of that time, too. Funny trivia: here, the villain is played by Andrew Prine, while a smaller inconsequential role is held by Robert Englund, who would later find fame (notoriety?) as the villain in the "Nightmare on Elm Street" movies. Show biz is a funny thing. ;)

      But in my opinion, I believe it deserves a nice Bluray release. Maybe not 4K or anything, but with even alot of SOV crap getting bluray releases, I don't see why someone can't pick this one up too, even though it's "only a TV movie"
