The older films are much better than today's. The actors really made you feel it. These movies are like fine art, should be appreciated and revered.

Why do most of actors seem to be older than today's movies? It seems like in today's movies they are much younger actors in the majority of movies.

Great TV movie! it was made for NBC by Douglas S Cramer,a former Paramount TV
executive, who later did "THE LOVE BOAT" series, and "WONDER WOMAN" (1975-1979)
but the casting of Reggie Nalder was seriously perfect! he worked on "MARK OF THE
DEVIL" (1970) but is best remembered as "Barlow" from the CBS mini-series "SALEM'S LOT" (1979),where he played the scariest Vampire ever created for TV,or
anywhere else! great charecter actor, and an even greater TV thriller in this 1975 TV
    movie!

This was written by Robert Bloch, the author of the novel "Psycho" which became the notorious Hitchcock film. Bloch wrote several films and TV scripts, including the British anthology movie "Asylum".

    • @lioness7582

Thank you,all these years and I thought Hitchcock wrote the screen play on his own.

    • @eduardo_corrochio
      @eduardo_corrochio 2 роки тому +2

@@lioness7582 Hitch was not a writer, at least not technically. He could see film scenes in his head before shooting them. For "Psycho" he had Jospeh Stefano pen the adaptation of the Bloch book-- changing the novel's frumpy and middle aged Norman into a nice looking young guy who (at first glance) appears harmless and ordinary.

I too remember seeing it when it first came on TV in 1975. I was around 10 or 11. And yes it was a good movie, and one of the kinds of movies that just aren't made anymore. The 70's was the decade of TV horror and these movies are still great even in today' times!

If memory serves, this was the ABC "Movie of the Week" about a million years ago. That dude coming out of the coffin scared the scooby out of me and my kid brother, a fear that lasted a whole week, I think. We ended up sleeping in the same bed and armed ourselves with my official Cub Scout flashlight! Later came that "Trilogy of Terror" with Karen Black and that li'l cannibal doll cutting itself out of a suitcase. Woo hoo! Those were the days for scary flicks! Thanks for posting.

Don’t know where it came from, I just remember watching it a couple of random times and the tape sitting around in our cabinet collecting dust for decades. Seemed like I was the only person in the world that even knew it existed. I even named a comedy sketch I filmed in 2008 “The Dead don’t die” and not a single person ever pointed out to me that there was an old movie with that same title, and I never told anyone I took it from that old movie in my childhood memory. Eventually many many years later in 2020 Hollywood made a movie with the same title as well and some people I knew thought they got the name from my video in 2008. Lol

The late Argentine-born actress, Linda Cristal was a 5'5" Italian-French-American beauty who achieved a very successful acting career in Hollywood back in the 50s and 60s. She continued acting into the 70s. She was already 44 years old at the time of this movie. Even at age 44 in this movie she was still a hot babe. Small suggestion if you don’t mind: maybe separate some of the text so it’s easier for others to read.
      You have some good stories.

Ray Milland was a sturdy actor, and he delivers a fine performance here, as Frank Muldoon, the ex-plonker with a chip on his shoulder.

At 31:00, the corpse getting out of the coffin...ain't that the same music as Monty Python and the Holy Grail, just before the intermission?

I want to know what sort of drugs the writers were on when they made up the name for this movie. The Dead don't die.....
