- Welcome back to Unguided, where I'm trying to complete every quest in old school runescape without using a guide, wiki or any plugins. I'll only be using my limited knowledge and in-game learnings. Full rules below.
RULES
- No use of OSRS wiki (or any equivalent) for anything - this includes looking up item spawns, quest guides, money making, anything
- No use of any other quest helper sites
- No use of quest helper plugin
CAVEATS
- I love OSRS UA-cam, I might inadvertently learn something I don't know by watching my favourite content creators, but I'm not going to stop watching them so that's just a risk I'm willing to take + it's unlikely going to be relevant for me
- I'm going to try and avoid any spoiler comments. If you can, please try not to help me if there's an episode where I'm stuck on something. I appreciate the sentiment but telling me an item spawn or quest step could spoil the fun :)

I love what you notice as unguided. Criticizing a town for not having a water source is so logical, and you wouldn't notice it unless you're paying such close attention! 😂
I swear almost every F2P quest requires you to get someone a beer.
the amount of quests in runescape that require you to get someone intoxicated to continue is staggeringly high.

I'm glad you didn't solo the SOA quest on an alt.
If the intent of the Unguided series is to do the quests the way they were meant to be done, then that interaction with another person was part of the quest designer's (and clan chat designer's) vision and I'm glad you had it as part of this series.

I think that asking random players on the street for information should always be allowed within the rules.
It's the most iconic, old school way to get information.
I definitely agree, although atm I’m almost seeing this as a single player play through to some degree
eventually, the advice will be false and all things will equal out
those people will likely look it up themselves thus defeating the point

Working back from ep 1 as I discovered your series, was wondering how you'd handle Arrav! Was wondering if you'd maybe ask a friend or a viewer to give te help you needed, but your solution was much better! Asking random people in-game to help out is giving me that '06 vibe I knew as a kid aimlessly wandering around.

just discovered this series today. great so far. I did almost the same thing coming to osrs after 15 years of not playing runescape. i think i had to cheat for the murder mystery quest, prince ali rescue, and shield of arrav. can’t wait to see how you tackle the harder members quest.

Would you be upset if I told you that there is a f2p Steel Platelegs spawn in the Wilderness? :P They sell for 650gp to the plateskirt/leg shop in Al Kharid.

Nostalgia hit so hard. Cause of course I did these quests back in 2004 or something. And no, there wasn't a google worth mentioning for me then. It probably took me 2 hours to do prince ali.

damn, the OG moneymaker I stumbled upon back in the day was mine silver at Alkarid mine > smelt them into bar > smelt bar into unstrung symbol > sell at Alkarid general store. Can't remember the exact numbers but it was a gold mine for me back then xD

Im surprised you didnt think to look all over the wilderness for item spawns, steel legs and earth battlestaves i beleive sell for a lot in shops from wildy

If I'm not mistaken they made ring of forging f2p a while a go. that would make the rubies really helpful, but the crafting and magic level kind of make it not that useful for beginning levels.
I did remember the ring of forging but I assumed it was members! Oh well, like you say the magic and crafting req is quite high for that spell

I mean, this series is called unguided for a reason. Its more interesting to see what he comes up with compared to the common methods you see in most other series.

Bit late but lovin the series. Reminds me of rsc back in the day lol minus the quest hints ofcourse. I would have farmed lesser demons on karamja for the cash lol if rng was in my favor rune med + runes + cash 😅 an age of bananas lol.
