I cannot express just how much I enjoy this series. The editing is seamless, but just the concept of struggling through this obtuse and ancient game, it's like crack to me.
I had a look and surprisingly the Chaos Altar near Falador you first tried was in the game when Merlins Crystal was released, so they definitely could have put it there. The beekeeper outfit definitely should be made to work though. As always, love waking up to your videos! Edit: you're missing a piece of beekeepers. A game update made it possible, but only if complete.

Another fun fact: Your hunch about the Wildy Chaos Altar was correct. ... but it only works like that in RuneScape Classic. It was moved to Varrock 'Chaos' Altar in RuneScape 2 in an effort to remove quests from the Wilderness. That is why it's explicitly referred to as th Chaos Altar, though.
Ah, the title. I remember thinking that Chaos Altar in Merlin’s Crystal might be tricky for this series. Finding out what that business meant is actually my only clear memory of doing that quest years ago now. I’m so excited for the Legends’ Quest. It will be the christening of this series as Legendary in status lol

You probably saved yourself so much time by remembering the location of the Lady of the Lake. When I did this quest, my first thought was that she should obviously be somewhere around the massive lake directly behind Camelot, so I spent ages walking its entire perimeter and trying to get to the "clothes shop" island out in the middle of it (which didn't work for reasons obvious to anyone who knows what that island actually is for, as I do now).
That's actually a good idea - letting players with full beekeeper complete that portion of the quest without having to get insect repellent. Obviously much easier to use the repellent, but it would add better logic to the game
The beekeepers outfit should 100% have been an alternative solution to the Merlins crystal quest. Get on it, Jagex! PS- Loving this series! Editing superbly done, comedy on point, not to mention your voice is so soothing. 👀
Lol I had the same issue with the temples. I feel like at some point the Chaos Temple in Varrock must have been more prominent or important for something. It's so easy to forget it even exists, but multiple early quests talk about it like it's common knowledge. Get ready for these next two... they're pretty rough unguided.

FYI… if you right click examine a key, the description should reference the quest it came from … that 100% used to be the case and I don’t think anything’s changed. Rather useful feature when doing bank cleanup.
Well no, that's not how it used to be. You'd just get a message like "A key." when you examine them, which is no help at all. Adding quest text to those is a very modern, New-School update, apparently from 2015.
Even saying a game mechanic needs to be discovered in this game mode, like if he didn't know about prayer flicking he has to figure it out himself, and in this case telling him that examine shows more information could also count, thankfully I don't think he is going to read the comments any time soon, but when he does he'll probably make a video once it ends and then goes back and calls himself out based on comments
Well well well, Gower Brothers' lack of foresight and future-proofing game design strikes again!! We thought we've seen enough of it during family crest, but NO! Here it is to fuck with us some more! 🤣 "The words are on a chaos altar, I forgot which" may have flown back in 2002 when all the game had was Asgarnia, Misthalin, and the early makings of Kandarin, but nowadays the game world is a fucktillion times bigger, and it's honestly quite inexcusable the ridiculous search one has to go on now (as Mr. Food here has demonstrated). Does ANYone ever even tell you, or hint at all at who the fuck the lady of the lake even is, or where she can be found?? I feel like he dodged a massive bullet here as well just by remembering it, but again, the game world is too stupidly big now for this to be an acceptable quest step. Runescape Classic Jamflex relied way too heavily on "recent update bias" for players remembering or figuring out vague shit to do for these early quests and ohhhhh boooyyyy it does not hold up well with time. It does *not* hold up well at all. We should be campaigning and rioting on their asses to fix this shit sooner rather than later.
Everybody concentrating on the beekeeper outfit, the keys or the Chaos altar. I'm just here to say Tourist trap and Darts, were released into Runescape on the same date :) Like in many previous episodes, new quests had a lot to do with new content :D
I can only speak for myself, but I'd love to see you get a little sidetracked to do some bossing and get some more gear upgrades at some point. Some barrows and stuff like that unguided might be fun - just enjoy seeing the progress.
You did it in a prior episode so it's not really a spoiler. Jagex added descriptive examine text to all quest related keys so you can check for the correct ones in your bank a lot eaiser than an undescriptive "metal key"
I look forward to episodes of this coming out just as much as Settled's Nightmare Mode. Keep up the awesome work, mate, loving the series and experience.
I'm always amused by how much people think ironman changes things. Dude, did you guys not know how we played runescape before the Grand Exchange? And thus half the people just played without ever doing trade? It wasn't until 2007 that it was introduced. Which means up until then...Bah whatever. Away with ye youngsters and get off my grass! I also agree that using the beekeeper outfit should have worked. That's just an obvious DUH. As for my useless knowledge thing? I am trying to think of something relevant to OSRS in particular. But the only thing I can think of is in RS3 they KINDA fixed the issue with so many keys and not knowing which is which. They made some of them attached to character via a quest reward...Which I won't say cause THAT is spoilers for sure.
It is hard to not say spoilers. There is a minor annoyance you face at some point during this episode which has an easy solution and a hard solution and I really want to say them.
Make sure to do every task unpotted with a bronze dagger. Idealy you'd just punch everything. Also where all your stuff and loot the rogues chest and melee zulrah

i love this series. having only played about a year back in the 2000s this series is helping me understand so much i never would have figured out. enjoying osrs so much now.

I think Nightmare mode is probably easier than Unguided. Settled's never going to have to walk up and down the entire map looking for planks.
