I was born and raised in northern Michigan (now live near Lansing) and totally understand why you would want to buy a lot here. Don't go south too soon; autumn in Michigan is beautiful and the temperatures will be comfortable until mid-October (be sure to go to an apple orchard to pick right off the trees). In addition to beautiful Lake Michigan, that's a great location for day trips to explore over towards Lake Huron, Mackinaw Island, the Upper Peninsula and Lake Superior.
I have my primary residence in Florida. I see the value in buying a lot for summer use up north. It’s basically the reverse snow bird model. Summers here are brutal.
As someone from Australia, never thought i would be so invested in RV life and you guys are absolutely nailing it. Keep safe and get well soon! Can't wait to see your next adventure!
I traveled full time, with a smaller rig, and also found the need to have a place to 'get off the road' for all the reasons you said. I found a camp on an island in the PNW and have my own campsite. My lot is more forestry than what you have but I'm also on a pond, across the street from the ocean, in a forest and I love it. I've been at this for 14 years and the camp site was really the right thing to do. For all the reasons you said, I agree 100%. I enjoy your videos! Thanks for sharing your lives.
I wish you a successful surgery and full recovery, Kris, and sending you strength and support, Hillary. 🙏🏾 Thank you for sharing the details in this video and may your beautiful lot bring you loads of joy for many years to come.
So happy you are enjoying a wonderful life. Your lot landscaping, the outdoor kitchen, small bungalow and view are simply lovely. Hope the surgery will have a positive results, and recovery time will be short. Side note: I am taken aback that individuals ask about your personal financial situation. To your credit you handle this topic in a very gracious manner.
Welcome to "Pure Michigan". IMHO, Northern Michigan is the best place Spring - Fall. There is so much to do and see. We currently live closer to Ann Arbor but spend many days "Up North" in our Tiffin Phaeton. We also own property in a Motorcoach resort in Florida and plan to spend Winters there after we retire in a few years. We also felt that having a close knit community was important, especially with all the ongoing activities in these resorts. In addition to all the points you mentioned, understanding if the resort is developer managed or a HOA managed can make a big difference on how the resort is run and who's best interest is focused on.
This is exactly what we are doing. We are in Alberta and travel for my husbands work a lot.. so having a lot to come back to after each contract is a fantastic investment. We also want a small bungalow on our lot that will have a children’s playroom (we will make it similar to an indoor playground on a smaller scale), and a small gym. I really don’t understand why people in your last video were saying it’s a bad investment. What they fail to see, is that you have buildable property, you have your Motorhome stationary but can move your entire home again if you need too, plus this could become an investment property where you rent out the lot to other RVers… and trust me, a lot would rent this location for the space and privacy alone. Happy for you both!
Also, don’t discredit the sacrifices that you both did to get where you are. A lot of people call it luck, but don’t realize the sheer amount of sacrifices you make whilst residing in an RV. The difficulties at times as well
Yes, exactly!!! It really helps to have some type of home base where you can be stationary when you want. Really helps to have the extra space as an office or for guests as well. We're loving it so far and would highly recommend to anyone looking for a similar lifestyle!
@@fuelyourwander I agree!! As for the comments around “you could just buy a house for that”… well yea but than your entire lifestyle changes. We love the simplicity of living in an RV. We enjoy the lack of empty space that’s just wasted. We enjoy being forced to spend 85 % of our time outdoors.
I'm officially in the club of the retired and restless, about to embark on the grand adventure of full-time RV life. Until then, your content is my daily dose of inspiration and motivation. Seriously, you guys are like the rock stars of the RV world!
Thank you so much! You made our day 🥰 Glad we can help provide motivation in the meantime. Best of luck on getting ready to embark on the full time RV lifestyle!

l've always wanted to be involved for a long time but the volatility in the price has been very confusing to me. Although I have watched a lot of UA-cam videos about it but I still find it hard to understand

Thank you so much, inch for all this information. My husband and I live on the space coast of Florida and we’ve been seriously considering an RV lot up north when we retire in 4 years. You’ve given us a lot of information. Praying your health scare is over.
Oh man thanks so much for this. We have land in the mountains of north carolina but have a travel trailer. Weve been considering another small proprrt for a bigger garden, dog park and rv spot. This however is a game changer
Prayers for your surgery. I have a benign Menegioma on my right posterior fossa that is monitored. I absolutely love your RV site. I live in Michigan and would love to stay there it looks beautiful.

We have a place between Petoskey and Charlevoix and this is a wonderful place for the summer and fall. When we get close to November we head to Tucson in our A. Can’t beat it! Welcome to the area, and hope all goes well medically.
You are both so blessed and fortunate to have this lifestyle. I also wish you the best on your procedure Chris 🙏 Beautiful pup you have aswell. I am also in my mid 30s female i also work in the healthcare industry at my local hospital here in Halifax Nova Scotia Canada. It's kind of like a "docking station" for RV-ing. As you said, a few months for doctors' appointments, repairs, but also to rest and re-group. Also, there may amenities: a pool, tennis courts, etc. Nice video! (Beautiful RV!)
I'll just assume Axle loves the new place. Thanks for the video. You have a beautiful place and made it even more beautiful with the renovations and the landscaping updates. The most surprising thing for me of the entire video was the comment on bugs! As a native Minnesotan, worrying about bugs is a real thing. Thank you for watching! Yes, Axle is in absolute heaven. He's so happy here. We thought the same thing about bugs and it was one of our biggest factors when choosing a location. We love spending time outdoors, but hard when there's lots of bugs. This location is great for that because for whatever reason, there are hardly any here. Definitely lucked out!
Congratulations! I'm jealous. But where in Michigan did you find a place without mosquitoes the size of hummingbirds and no biting deer flies?!? We've run into the same issue, too, but hear that some resorts are beginning to amend their rules to allow newer, smaller, self-contained rigs. We little guys may need a "docking station" even more than the big guys!

Will you try and enclose the outdoor kitchen for winter? Winters are so harsh in Michigan it just seems so unpleasant to try and do indoor/outdoor living during those months. It's a lovely RV park.
As a homeowner in the Upper Penisula, the real northern Michigan, it is a common misnomer to refer to the northern portion of Lower Peninsula as northern Michigan; however, the real Northern Michigan is on the other side of the Mackinac Bridge.
Hi, that resort looks fantastic we would like to see what is available , go stay and see what it is all about. Is it Heartside Grove in Petoskey ? We really enjoy watching your videos, thanks for making them.
Very informative …. thanks!! Question: you mentioned working in healthcare tech. Any advice, tips, ect for one of our daughters looking to make change to the healthcare tech sector? She currently has a bachelor’s in marketing.
That was my career - I (Hillary) led marketing at several healthcare tech companies. Best advice is to get in first with companies that provide services for pharma companies. Lots of marketing type positions in those companies. Start ups are great but can be volatile. If she’s interested in networking, I’d be happy to chat with her. She can email us at hello@fuelyourwander.com!

As a homeowner in the Upper Penisula, the real northern Michigan, it is a common misnomer to refer to the northern portion of Lower Peninsula as northern Michigan; however, the real Northern Michigan is on the other side of the Mackinac Bridge.
Thanks for sharing and correcting us. 😀
Keep up the great work

Hi, that resort looks fantastic we would like to see what is available , go stay and see what it is all about. Is it Heartside Grove in Petoskey ? We really enjoy watching your videos, thanks for making them.
I was curious if once your RV reaches 10 years old, would you have to go purchase a new one?
Great question. I’m not sure.
Thanks.
Did you do all the landscaping and having the patio and bungalow built or did it come that way?
I Love your RV mat. Where did you find it?
It’s in our Amazon store. 😀
I don't see it..@@fuelyourwander
Do you need a cdl or air break endorsement to be able to drive your class A coach?
You need a class B license.
Love it
Very informative ….
What kind of RV is that you all have and it was very nice fixing to buy one just curious
We have a 2023 American Coach, American Dream 45A. We love the layout and features.😀
Not to worry. I know the area well, by January the snow is so deep the only things that can be stolen will have to be carried on snowmobiles...LOL
So very true!
Can you talk about health insurance while traveling to through the USA
We have health insurance and it works across every state. It can be difficult to find doctors when traveling, but insurance has not been an issue.😀

Buying 2 lots is fun for you guys. But going to Vietnam is horrific. 😂
We are looking forward to visiting Vietnam...
You replaced your mattress in one of your videos, could you recommend something. We have a sleep number 👎🏻 and it’s got to go!
We replaced our mattress with Brooklyn Bedding. Highly recommend them.
I think it's cool
Would love to see the lot during the middle of winter
Only on camera. We will not be there. 😀
What is the name of that great place? Community
What is the average price off the lots
Depends on the lot, hoa, park rental fees (they take a portion), electricity, insurance, & a lux class A rv
