    Just an add on. When hooking up your sewer line and you are ready to dump. pull the grey lever first just long enough to test for leaks. Yes I know every one says to do the black first but I would rather find a leak with the grey water. Use just enough to test for leaks and save the rest to flush out the line after dumping the black tank. 😁

      @fuelyourwander  Місяць тому +1

      100% agree on finding the leaks with the grey tank!

      Agree completely, we started doing this about a year ago, after a slight mishap. Lol, Never again. We also turn off our water at the pedestal if we leave for more than a few minutes and now we put water in our fresh tank and then shut it off till we need more. We run off our water pump and turn that off before leaving the campsite and at night when we go to bed. I don't want to wake up to the sound of water running or a flooded motorhome in the morning. 🤪

    Great video, my Dad and i got a rv about 5 years ago, a 34 footer class A. Sold it a few months later due to technical reasons but it was fun to live out of and drive around. Being a minimalist is definitely a plus for the rv life.
    Im current practicing to be a truck driver and there's one word most truckers think of when backing in to a spot.
    GOAL
    Get Out And Look
    If you have a spotter, you dont really need this, but if your by yourself or your spotter isn't available for whatever reason, its a great word to memorize.

    Thanks for this video! My wife and I are new to RVing, and are always looking for tips and tricks, and you both are helpful. One thing we learned from someone before our first trip was to measure the slideout when it’s out (ours is 3’). Then run to the hardware store for a dowel of the same length. Then when we arrive at campsite, I place the dowel against the Class C we have at the slide’s corners (while it’s in). If the dowel doesn’t touch anything, I know I can open the slide. Thanks again!

    Good video. One thing I like that is different is I like to have my clear section of the sewer hose at the RV where the sewer hose connects. I have been in places that it took 2 or more sections of sewer hose to hook up and I don't want to keep ducking out to go look if it is running clean. I would rather have it right there at the RV.
    Always look up when getting ready to pull in or back in to a site. Best advise is, if there is any doute stop and get out and look.

    One of the campgrounds we frequent doesn’t let us use splitter hoses for the water.

    • @fuelyourwander
      @fuelyourwander  Місяць тому

      We have seen a few of those. Not really sure why they care. I could also hook up a hose to inside the wet bay, but the splitter is just simpler.

    Great video! Two key takeaways for me:
    1. Research your travel route and destinations to know the locations of nearby grocery stores, gas stations, camping supplies, and hospitals.
    2. Ensure all necessary RV equipment is packed. We arrived at a campground and had to move to a 30-amp site due to unforeseen circumstances. Unfortunately, after cleaning out the bays and storing items in the garage the previous weekend, I left my 50-amp to 30-amp splitter and surge protector at home.

    • @fuelyourwander

      Regarding #2 - I have done the exact same thing. Frustrating, because they always sell those adapters in the campground store for 2x the average price...

      @@fuelyourwander Stellantis quality is no bueno. I got rid of my Jeep GC Summit less than a year after buying it. It's a lot of fun when all the electronics die as you're driving in an unfamiliar location. Is there no Toyota that can be flat towed? A lot of them have two range transfer cases so I'd imagine they could be shifted into neutral at the transfer case?

      This is why I want a class B. I just don't know if this would work for full-time...I'd still want a car so I can go get groceries. So ideally I want a RV park and have a small storage/dwelling. Go away for the weekend or if I'm traveling somewhere for a vacation that I'm flying that I know I have neighbors to watch someone not breaking in.

    It’s not a mistake but like your coach we have a big C and some sites that looked level was so caddy wimpish that I had to use 12x12 blocks I carry just to get level. Auto level wouldn’t even help so had to use manual to get it done. Our coach has schwinntek slides and I’m anal about maintaining them and being as perfectly level as possible.
