You two are the best what a couple I envy you so much you've got a great life nothing better than to see the country on a daily basis and we have a beautiful country to visit
I'm certainly considering the RV life. I appreciate your RV and color scheme. Beautiful! I do like the idea of traveling around and enjoying this beautiful land of ours. Thank you for sharing your experiences.
did it 13 yrs, do not make a decision from you tube, it is hostile, we've been attacked in rest areas, blow outs destroy your rv, there are a lot of minuses, and in some states you are hated. We stopped after an rv park in Palm springs was remodeling and the tractor guy ran over a log and released killer bees, everybody got stung many times, the doctor said i had 100 stings, my dog was near death. Its not glamous, truckers hate you, mountains kill everything, rv parks are adopting a 10 yr rule so by the time your diesel engine is at break in you can't get into any good park. We recently went out with friends and they had to send pictures of their rv to the park just to make a reservation, and in four or five years that's coming to any good park, never koa they're mostly trash. I still say the fun side is fun, everything else is twice as much work as living on the 5 acres i own now, and in 5 yrs i haven't had brown slime on me at all or listened to my neighbors kill each other all night, or have a trucker threaten to kill me in a rest area, because i got his spot, he however did not know i was a retired federal police carrying a 45, he had a stick.
I am new to the channel; I have been watching for a few weeks and I got to say that Hilliary comes across as a professional TV host, good voice and well-spoken for the audience. Thanks to both of you for including us in your travels.
Having your bedroom and bathroom with you at all times is huge. I stayed in hundreds if not thousands of hotels while young and now that I think of it it was disgusting. New subscriber here and part time camper. Your rig is beautiful!
I have been full-time in my older Monaco Dynasty for almost 5 years now. I stay in an RV park maybe as much as 5% of the time as I have set it up for Boondocking with solar and batteries and I always chase the good weather. Although this year winter is hanging on in the West. Thanks for the video as I always enjoy them.
Boondocking is a great option! Private and saves a ton of money. Our rig isn’t as well equipped for it. Need to invest in better batteries and more solar. Thanks for watching. Safe travels 💜
Love you re content, my wife and I did what you are doing years ago, but age has caught up, and we gave it up, I watch a lot of content like yours, but I notice a lot of the people I watch are very unorganized, but you on the other hand keep your rig nice and clean and organized, any way good luck, travel well, and always be safe!
Came across your channel a few days ago. Excellent videography, narration and information. Your voice control and insights are to the point. Keep going and building.
Nice job guys, enjoyed your video this week. All good points and you have a beautiful RV. I am a trailer guy. The great thing about my trailer behind my Renegade XL 46DBM with a 25-foot trailer. It's like a garage holds my Bronco, Honda Gold wing 3 wheeler and tools outside furniture. 99% of the time, we use pull throughs as parking. But like your car is not working, you are right. You just pack it up and move on...
Exactly. We flat towed a vehicle for a couple yrs but I wanted to bring my Harley, and a golf cart, as well as bicycles and big gas grill. Plus a tool chest cause we all know stuff breaks on these coaches. Just made more sense to get a Stacker trailer and pile it all in there.
Tow Dolly's with front wheel drive are good alternative too because a trailer is hard to do in lots of campgrounds with smaller sites! But flat tow is the easiest but fewer vehicles can do it than even a few years ago!
And on a quick note, if you are in the Nashville area let me know. I would not mind at all riding with y'all!! I'll wash the land ship and do all the dirty work for free!! Lol. I do enjoy your show and thanks for the response. Happy travels!! 🙌
One topic that has always interested me is routine service for the RV. Since it's your home and you have Axle, do you just get a room at a dog friendly hotel (and pay the ridiculous cleaning fee that you know doesn't go to any additional cleaning at all) or ?
Good question! We’re actually heading to IN soon for our warranty work. It’s going to take 2 weeks for the manufacturer to fix everything. So we had to get a dog friendly AirBnB for 2 weeks and unfortunately have to pay out of pocket for it. Kris does most our RV maintenance himself but anytime we do need to take it in to be serviced we have to essentially move out and into a rental
Good video. Curious why you didn’t just rent a U-Haul trailer to the next town? As for hotels… RV all the way 👍. Love having the home a foot in back of us. 😂
We were planning to rent a U-Haul trailer actually! But our Jeep was too heavy for the car trailers they had available, by about 700 lbs. We didn’t want to drive across country with an overloaded trailer. At the time, the dealership was saying minimum 1 month to get parts and repairs. It ended up taking them 3 weeks so leaving it was the best decision to not derail all our other travel plans 😀
Question, why don’t you rent vehicles when you get into a town that you can rent a vehicle instead of Towing. We are downsizing from our home and buying a new motorhome and I’m debating if I’m going to tow vehicle or just call one of the local rentals for autos who will bring it to my campsite or where I’m staying and sometimes it’s only a, 19.95 a day plus yes in kilometres will not be cheaper to have done it this Way thank you for your response in advance
We’ve thought about that. But rentals are typically pretty expensive. We’ve been paying about $400-500 a week for the cheapest car available while our Jeep is in the shop. $2k a month on rentals really adds up. Since we live in it full time, we need full access to a car. Also not all RV parks are in places near rental car facilities
Yes, definitely! The two breakdowns we’ve had were due to faulty parts and installation from Freightliner, not American Coach. Freightliner makes the chassis for a number of Coach manufacturers. We’ve been very pleased with the quality and service from American Coach and would buy another one in the future should we ever trade ours in.
Respectfully asking if you could recommend lounge chairs that are conformable and sturdy? Our first trip coming up in our new 40ft Newmar. Thank you, enjoy your travels.
So I’m in the market to purchase an RV…any suggestions on what to look for? We are looking in the area of exactly what you all have as far as length and storage!
All depends n your budget and must have features. Are you looking for new or used? For us, the 605hp engine was a must with such a big rig. We’d highly recommend getting an RV with the bigger size engine, it’s worth the price difference. We can drive with our tow through the Rockies with zero problems. One of the reasons we went with American Coach was because the 605hp engine came standard. It was an expensive upgrade in the Tiffin, Entegras and Newmars (all within our price point). If looking for new, definitely recommend going to an RV show like Hershey or Tampa. You’ll get the best deals there and get tour tons of different models there
That’s a tough one! Reputable being the key word. Our coach is still under warranty and we’re getting our warranty repairs done in Indiana soon. We’ve also brought it to the Freightliner custom chassis service center in SC. We’ve done the two oil changes on it ourselves. Hard to find good places these days that we trust.
you didn't specifically address the "expense" question related to monthly cost as it pertains to the RV itself, other than the fuel cost and campground fees. Do you own the RV outright or do you have to pay a monthly payment? That rig is fairly expensive, so just wondering if it's about the same as a monthly mortgage on a home.
@@fuelyourwander Oh, I understand completely. Obviously if someone wants to get in to the RV lifestyle they would have to do research to find an affordable RV that will permit them to not only afford the cost of the RV but the traveling(fuel) and campground fees that are associated with that. I just recently found your channel so far I'm enjoying your videos immensely. Thanks!
We’ve been doing content creation for a year and a half now! It still amazes us how much we’ve grown. We appreciate all the support. Incredibly grateful 😍
We do use Harvest Hosts! Great way to save money on travel days. We haven’t used it as much lately as it’s been really warm where we are. Since they don’t usually have hook ups at Harvest Hosts we have to run the generator all night for the AC. But it’s great in cooler areas! Safe travels on your trip!
Hi I’m fairly new to your channel but your content is amazing and appreciate your videos and I’ve learned a lot. So I had a question for you both. Im graduating from a trade school this May and planning to search for a remote tech support position and eventually buy an RV to go full time. What minimum salary would I need to live comfortably to go full time? Thanks
Thank you and best of luck on finishing up school! It really all depends on the type of RV you purchase and your comfort level. We have friends that live in an RV full time and pay $500 a month for RV sites. If you don’t move as much you’ll have lower fuel costs. And depends on if you’ll have a loan for the RV and or truck if you get a trailer. It’s likely similar costs if you were living in an apartment. But again, you can do it very inexpensively.
Does the $3,000 a month include food, rv payment, and fuel for traveling? I plan on doing this full time to travel the US and plan on not staying at an RV park longer than it takes to fill up fresh water and dump the old stuff. Otherwise I’m happy with parking at a Walmart or driving to the next destination. Also i plan on day trading to supplement my income. What is your main income source?
I’m just stuck between waiting for an all electric option, buying a 5th Wheel and diesel dually truck or a diesel pusher Class A. Best of all worlds is if they could come out with an all electric or hydrogen Class A …
That would be awesome! We’ll be first in line when one comes out 😂 We struggled with the decision between a motorhome and a fifth wheel. We decided on a motorhome because they’re made with better quality materials since they can hold more weight, and it’s a better travel experience on travel days - can access everything while driving and easier to set up than a fifth wheel once you park. We also didn’t want a big dualy truck as our daily driver vehicle. But fifth wheels have way more kitchen/living space and more modern floor plans. And if you break down, you don’t lose your home. It all depends on what’s most important to you.
I plan to sell my house and buy a motorhome to work and travel. I am a single woman and I am really looking forward to doing this for a few years. Would it be harder for me to travel alone? I have done it before but not with an RV.
If you are comfortable driving a larger vehicle, then it would be no issue. I would start by renting one for a few weeks and get a feel for what size you are looking to buy.
We absolutely loved the PNW but unfortunately the RV parks that fit our size rig and have full hook ups are tough to find. In Portland we stayed at Sun Outdoirs Portland South. Nice location near the city but very noisy. In Astoria we stayed at a KOA that was just okay but right near the ocean. In Washington we stayed at Elwha Dam in Pprt Angeles. No frills RV park but very cozy and right near Olympic National Park.
Too many too list, but my favorites - Tesla Model S, 57 Chevy truck, 55 Chevy truck, 65 Impala, 77 Trans Am, Lots of trucks (F150 (x4), F250, 68 Chevy C100), Jaguar F-Type, C6 ZO6, AMC Pacer. Just a few of them. And the then the race cars and of course there were 10 motorcycles in there as well…. I wish I would have had the space and ability to keep them all.
Love to get more information, about the company you work for, I currently work remotely, but I am loosing my customers in May. So my income is going away. So I need something. and my wife and I love to travel, and have been the last 2 years, because of my job
did it 13 yrs, it is hostile, we've been attacked in rest areas, blow outs destroy your rv, there are a lot of minuses, and in some states you are hated. We stopped full timing after an rv park in Palm springs was remodeling and the tractor guy ran over a log and released killer bees, everybody got stung many times, the doctor said i had 100 stings, my dog was near death. Its not glamorous, truckers hate you, mountains kill everything, rv parks are adopting a 10 yr rule so by the time your diesel engine is at break in you can't get into any good park. We recently went out with friends and they had to send pictures of their rv to the park just to make a reservation, and in four or five years that's coming to any good park, never koa they're mostly trash. I hear you. It’s not perfect and there are some down sides. For us, the positives still outweigh the negatives, but we have started to travel a little less and stay put longer. 😀
Chris, how has the warranty repairs been handled by the manufacturer of your RV? Do they take care of your repair issues to your satisfaction? Have you had to do many repairs yourself? I’ve read a few nightmare scenarios dealing with the manufacturers. There is a guy in Arizona that has a UA-cam channel that is very good at RV repairs. AZ Expert and his name is James, just in case you are interested.
We’re actually headed to Indiana in a few weeks for our first warranty service appointment. It’s supposed to take 2 weeks to fix everything on our list. I’ve fixed a lot of things myself, but we still have things to get serviced that either parts are hard to get or things I can’t get to easily. So far, we’ve been very happy with American Coach. We’ll be sharing videos on the process so will keep you updated on how it goes
Sorry but this is not a very smart move financially. Dumping all this money into a depreciating asset like an RV is crazy. Right now interest rates for homes are at all time high and buying a house is harder than ever for most Americans. There are tons of youtubers who quite RV life after just 3 to 4 years. Also these RVs are money pits that depreciate like crazy. After you get tired of RV life and want to go back into a house, it will be much more difficult to get back in due to increasing house prices and higher interest rates throughout the nation. I bought old 3bed and 2bath single family house in San Jose California for 800K in 2019. Now it is worth $1.4M and interest rates are at 7%! Unless you guys are already very wealthy, it is all fun and games until reality hits.
Thank goodness your opinion doesn't have any bearing on their lives! They seem like a great couple that lots of us would like to get to know better. After my husband retires we are going to travel the country also. Making memories is where it's at. You should try it! It's a Big Big world out there! ❤
They are a luxury couple. They like the best of the best on everything. And I’m sure their credit cards and lack of money in the bank can prove that. It will come crashing down someday. They didn’t answer the how much does it cost questions.
Better an RV than a car. At least they have a roof over their head. They own a RV lot so they have a stable place to stay if they choose to not travel.

You guise are living my dream
Thank you! ❤️
Good video but I can't help but notice that there are 444k subscribers and only 6.3k views after 5 days? Weird...
We agree. The YT algorithm is a magic black box.
did it 13 yrs, it is hostile, we've been attacked in rest areas, blow outs destroy your rv, there are a lot of minuses, and in some states you are hated.
I hear you. It’s not perfect and there are some down sides. For us, the positives still outweigh the negatives, but we have started to travel a little less and stay put longer. 😀
Hi!
Hi 😀
Where do you have your mail sent?
We choose to car dolly our Mercedes backwards.
Man she talks A L O T!
@@fuelyourwander ….. thanks for taking time to respond. I hope everything goes smoothly with the appointment.
They are creating memories! That is worth a lot more!
You realize this is there job? Their appreciation is much higher than yours. 500K subscribers pays quite well.
