Since I had Thyroid surgery back in 1986, when I turned 20, I've been hyperconscous about nutrition. After they removed my body's metabolism control mechanism/Thyroid, I've had issues with everything, not the least being libido. So I've been trying to correct this with supplemental zinc and eating oysters when I can find them at the 99 cent store. It really does help, but my hormones never seem to get balanced, and are either too high or too low, since taking them orally does not effectively duplicate normal biological rhythms. It feels like I'm constantly rolling dice, to try to get on track with balancing bodily functions. But I feel like I hit the jack pot when it all comes together, and I feel normal. But I appreciate the information you put out about Zinc, it's kinda been the main focus for me, since physical fitness has always been important to me, as well as a healthy libido. 💪🏼😆✌🏼🌎☀️⚡🔥💎
Hey. I had partial thyroid surgery about five years ago. The changes were very challenging. Zinc, vitamins d, k and c have helped me; along with selenium and iodine. Fortunately the internet has helped me to research and try some things, cause a lot of doctors are ignorant to thyroidisms
Thank you, Thomas. An idea for a video would be in regards to supplements. Some we take with food, some on an empty stomach, and some throughout the day. How can we make them effective and easy to take with us for maximum absorption. Thank you so much!

Very interesting video. If you take so much Zink that you get copper loss. Will increasing the copper intake counter that, or will the Zink cancel "any amount" of copper?
Thanks for this video! Can you please make a video on the types of Zinc similar to your types of Magnesium video, or if it already exists link to it please! Thank you and appreciate it!
Thank you so much for this highly informative and easily understood video! I have been seeing a Functional Doctor and have quite severe zinc deficiency after getting covid last July while working in the US. I have all of the symptoms you've listed but additionally, not just the loss of taste but also a different sense of smell. Certain foods smell absolutely putrid to me now, raw chicken is a particular offender! I'm curious if the sense of smell is also zinc or may be a different deficiency? In order for food to taste like anything other than cardboard I need to add absolutely huge amounts of different herbs: thyme, rosemary, garlic, mint etc. I've had IV's for zinc as well as other vitamins and minerals that were severely depleted due to covid, including 600,000iu injections for vitamin D3, iron IV's and more. But levels are very slow to improve. In terms of over-the-counter zinc supplements, can you recommend any specific types/ brands? Now that I have truly learned the importance of vitamins and minerals first-hand, I really want to alert friend and family about the importance of supplementation and keeping a check on labs. Any suggestions would be so appreciated! They would need to ship to Australia and ideally also the US as I have friend's there (I'm back home now in Aus). Thank you again.
I got Sars cov 2 a month ago today and still don't have my taste back, I hope zinc helps. Atleast I feel better physically. Went from a 8:40 mile average to 11:40. Now I'm back to 8:40 to 9:40.
Thank you for great info. However I was looking for which is the best absorbable zinc. I see Zinc Glycinate, Zinc Sulfate etc. Please make a video as you did for magnesium. Thank you!
Nausea is a very common side effect of zinc if not taken in the MIDDLE of a BIG meal. Otherwise one can get flu-like symptoms. Workers doing welding and/or torch cutting on galvanized steel commonly experience the same nauseous effects. Galvanized is a shiny zinc coating on steel to prevent rusting. The welding/torch cutting vaporizes the zinc coating. If the worker inhales these zinc vapors they will experience the same nausea.

I think one thing that's important about this is, bioavailability of Zinc supplements. You said that 40 mg's i probably the max before depletion of copper, but the key question should be, how much of that is actually absorbed and utilized.
If you have done a starter's video I'd love to know. I would be spending hundreds amounts if I bought all of this stuff separately. Just a basic list for people beginning their clean eating journey.

wow. that was succinctly informative. do you have a self taught health series for mature newbies and or do you have a chronological list of videos to watch that you have already made...
The simplest sign of severe zinc deficiency is white spots on your fingernails. That can be a sign of pyrrole disorder that depletes you of zinc as well as b6.
Or calcium
You are a very informed man, That gives great advice. Love your videos.
I thank Corona for getting me into vitamins.

Glad you guys have finally arrived. I've been studying herbs for yrs, many don't listen cuz I'm not a doctor. Corona hits ppl now want my advice lol
I took iron supplements because of anemia from heavy menstruation.
I developed huge acne lesions on my neck under my jaw.
With a little research, I discovered that the iron was in competition with the Zinc in my body and the iron won.
A few weeks on a Zinc supplement, and my skin was clear again!
This is the best channel on UA-cam 🙏 started supplementing spirulina magnesium vitamin D & boron for a week... My about 11 year stomach problem has dramatically improved. Life changing literally! I think I'm on track to getting my life back
I’m a hair stylist and have seen hair loss with clients that have had Covid. Also the taste and smell thing associated with Covid of course. I Can we conclude that zinc would help with all this. Should I suggest zinc to these customers?
absolutely true
Thanks a lot...very informative... i was vegan gor many years but i was feeling weak and having white spots on my nails i was exercising hard and only getting protei from vegan protein shake after workouts.... when i went to the Dr as soon as he saw the white spots on my nails he told me i was lacking zinc and after blood test i was stocked i was lacking B12 iron zinc he told me to eat animal protein and a lot.... since then i stopped being vegan i think it's really bad...
I take 50mg per day! I do it for prostate health and to increase testosterone! Good video Thomas!
do you take copper?
Food list starts at 5:09. Good info.
I have read that if you don’t balance your zinc intake with copper, you can be predisposed to getting aneurysms.
THANK YOU FOR THE WHITE BOARD.

Yes! Dr Eric Berg uses one all the time on his youtube channel. :-)

Interesting. But I'm 58 years old what kind of zinc do you recommend please 🙏 ❤
I love your videos. They are so informative and you break it down so that I understand more than surface level body functions. Your knowledge and understanding and they way you explain things leads me to believe you are a Savant. I share your videos with family members and friends because you seem different, in a good way, than other UA-cam nutritional related posters. Good on ya mate.
I love your videos, I was poisoned by pharmacutials & Drs BS.. so I've been doing my own health management, No pharmacutials for over 14 yrs.. I'm blessed with 100% immune system finally.. tI ook care of other COVID sick people, cleaning facilities everyone uses.. Myself & Blessed by My Savior.. implementing me into others lives..

Thank you so much for this information and making it easy to understand ❤️
Love you beautiful. 💋❤️
Still deficient with 30 mg of zinc a day and copper supplement. Also eating pumpkin seeds. What would you do?
Zinc picolinate the best absorbed form...
Nope, zinc gluconate
Bruh, yall saying different things. Immma just take zinc from my diahhorea
@@greuss2105 Actually we are all saying the same thing, take zinc. Don’t know if it will help with your stupidity in diarrhea
All best except zink oxide..
My 90yr old mother is allergic to shell fish. can she take the Zinc supplement. Or how do I help her???
Started taking this supplement about a year or so ago, I feel like I can lift more weight in the gym vs when I’m not taking it regularly and a noticeable difference in libido due to increased testosterone

Hey. I had partial thyroid surgery about five years ago. The changes were very challenging. Zinc, vitamins d, k and c have helped me; along with selenium and iodine. Fortunately the internet has helped me to research and try some things, cause a lot of doctors are ignorant to thyroidisms
Very informative and well prepared presentations.
Does it matter when you take zinc and should you take it with magnesium or on its own or does it really matter?
Thomas in your opinion what is the best type of zinc? chelate or gluconate like in the study? thanks
Absolutely excellent video. Thank you 🙏🏻
Thank you, Thomas. An idea for a video would be in regards to supplements. Some we take with food, some on an empty stomach, and some throughout the day. How can we make them effective and easy to take with us for maximum absorption. Thank you so much!
Very good at describing what you’re thinking in a way it’s easier to understand. I like the “basically it’s like...”
Please do video on how to suplement zinc and copper together It is extremly hard . I try many years and i can;t do it right
30 mgs zinc and 2 mgs cooper daily dose it will be ideal.
P.S. Some people can't assimilate zinc, you have to consult your doctor bout that.
Echinacea is generally not recommended for use by people with diseases of the immune system such as HIV, multiple sclerosis, or tuberculosis. The German government recommends against using echinacea if you have these conditions. Some researchers believe that echinacea could actually worsen these immune system problems.

what forms of zinc supplement do you recommend? you've discussed magnesium forms in awesome detail, does it matter as much about zinc? Keep up the sweet content!
Hello I just heard your video . Can you guide me as to which zinc to take . Want to start asap. As I have skin issues please let me know which one to take . Thanks so much.

Hi Thomas, love your video's.. I'm tapering my benzodiazepine medication at the moment, I have no idea what supplements to use, would you make us a video that can give us some insight on how to be good to ourselves in this difficult time. There are thousands of people who go through this and it's not easy. Keep well and keep the information coming. Thanks.
SUCH a good overview. Thank you!
Yea it is
Had some hair fallout, I have horrible smell and taste, hard to pack on mass, libido a bit low.
And I didn’t eat zinc based foods,.
Everything is clicking.
Started eating zinc(pumpkin seeds) and supplementing yesterday.
Let’s see how this goes.
Best supplement for zinc, it goes combative with B-complex & L-lysine & vitamin C
You such a blessing young man 💘 you.
wow Thomas you are so incredible. Thank you so much for all this info.
Hey Thomas, is it possible to do a video how to heal from an injury quicker?
Do a fast to activate autophagy. Cold water immersion is supposedly somehow helpful too.
Very interesting video. If you take so much Zink that you get copper loss. Will increasing the copper intake counter that, or will the Zink cancel "any amount" of copper?
Zink?

When is good time to take vitamins? Day or night?!
He can talk to me about vitamins and minerals all day
What about the combination of zinc and magnesium? Is it a good supplement?
Thanks for this video!
Can you please make a video on the types of Zinc similar to your types of Magnesium video, or if it already exists link to it please! Thank you and appreciate it!
Zinc 30mg spiked up my cholesterol in 3weeks. It also causes floaters in eyes. Why?
Zinc has nothing to do with eye floaters
Zinc deficiency affecting taste and smell is for sure a thing.
I got Sars cov 2 a month ago today and still don't have my taste back, I hope zinc helps. Atleast I feel better physically. Went from a 8:40 mile average to 11:40. Now I'm back to 8:40 to 9:40.
Hi, can zinc help with hashimoto hypothyroidism weight gain issues?
Thank you for great info. However I was looking for which is the best absorbable zinc. I see Zinc Glycinate, Zinc Sulfate etc. Please make a video as you did for magnesium. Thank you!
I knew about this, but not in time to save my hair lol It's all grown back now but early in my keto journey I lost most of my hair... Super scary!
For real? And it all grew back? I assume you mean on your head.
KETO Diamond... expand on your comment/claim please?? Was it keto way of eating that CAUSED your hair-loss?
hair loss is common with any type of long term weight loss, not specific to keto. glad you figured out the reason, almost always a mineral deficiency.
keto made me super horny, i had to stop.
Hi Thomas,
Can you make a video about what brands of vitamin, minerals and supplements you recommend?
Thanks
I have had lots of hair loss after loosing 50 on keto and IF. So I started supplementing zinc but why do I feel extremely nauseous after taking it?
Nausea is a very common side effect of zinc if not taken in the MIDDLE of a BIG meal. Otherwise one can get flu-like symptoms. Workers doing welding and/or torch cutting on galvanized steel commonly experience the same nauseous effects. Galvanized is a shiny zinc coating on steel to prevent rusting. The welding/torch cutting vaporizes the zinc coating. If the worker inhales these zinc vapors they will experience the same nausea.
Fanny, take Zinc Picolinate. It's mild on stomach but effective. Take it with meals just in case.
i was so deficient in zinc(due to problem with low stomach acid ,sweating and stress) that when i started supplementing with zinc methionine, my whole being changed..
@Joshua William 30 mg daily
Supplement.
itsdmtrr Dimitrov How did your body change?
This explains it all… my weight, muscle and hair loss. Since 2016, and not picked up any md, but they were very fast to dispense antibiotics 😤
I think one thing that's important about this is, bioavailability of Zinc supplements. You said that 40 mg's i probably the max before depletion of copper, but the key question should be, how much of that is actually absorbed and utilized.
I heard that most geeric zinc supplements have about a 25% absorbtion rate.
Thought I'd watch the 1st 3 min & you sucked me in for 10... Good stuff man 👍
the best ZINC is amzn.to/3l1yDnb
my understanding is that too much zinc is harmful - is this correct?
If you have done a starter's video I'd love to know. I would be spending hundreds amounts if I bought all of this stuff separately.
Just a basic list for people beginning their clean eating journey.
Great info! Thank you Thomas DeLauer.....

You zink so?
i have severe zinc deficiency, my white blood cells are showing it, i took everything but only Zinc made them increase. I´m also fatigued and have low mood (idk if its from zinc deficiency) and i also have too less thyroid hormones currently with NDT even less than before without anything!), also i have seborrheic dermatitis. My question is how much mg zinc should i take daily to get rid of my deficency and problmems as fast as i can? And will taking zinc depleate something different? ould it be more smart to take for example on day 50mg zinc, next day no zinc, next day again 50mg ? Which form of zinc?
What’s the best form of zinc? And your thoughts on selenium?
NaturalHI picolinate
Zinc orotate has the best absorption
Zinc chelate

Supplementing Zinc without Copper will cause serious health issues - low blood count Anemia, muscle weakness / fatigue, feeling cold, white / grey hair snd serious intestinal problems along with double vision - ALWAYS take 1 mg Copper for every 7 mg Zinc - a good rule is 2mg copper with 15 mg Zinc...
Thanks for the advice :)

Your body only needs 11 mg
i'm 53 yrs old and have been taking the multi vitamin "Tangy Tangerine 2.0" since 2015.. Could i possibly recieve some feedback on opinions and data on why i should or shouldn't be taking this multi vitamin and would "Polyrhachis Black Ant" be a good subsitute ?
He recommends 40 mg but natures bounty's capsules are 50mg each, are they too strong?
I don’t know anything, but i think like 45 is max lol
No
I but the 50 and cut it in half with a pill cutter. So 25 for me a day. I just started it so not seeing progress yet.
it's important to note that candida overgrowth can lead to zinc deficiency even if you're supplementing or consuming a proper diet of whole foods. Candida "eats" zinc, b-vitamins, sugar, magnesium, calcium... and consuming processed foods & supplements that feed candida feed the problem.
What can we do?
@@simoneambroise9128 You could follow an anti-inflammatory diet or Candida cleanse diet, starving the fungus, while taking supplements that kill it at the same time while nourishing your body. It can be done and if you can find a Naturopathic or Functional/Integrative Medicine Doctor or Ayurvedic practitioner to help, even better 🙏 There's a Dr. Kroger Candida cleanse supplement you can get I would recommend. It worked for a friend who had terrible symptoms from candida overgrowth in her liver. It's an inexpensive price if you're interested. 💖
