You need following to absorb Zinc into the tissues at a cellular level ::
    1. Active B6 - P5P
    2. Vit B12
    3. Magnesium
    4. Copper ! (intracellular Copper else you'd develop Zinc intolerance)
    5. Vit C
    6. Bioflavonoids such as Quercetin / Rutin / PAC's
Zinc synergies well with certain Amino acids such as Taurine, Methionine, Lysine, Argenine. Hence, Zinc is better consumed with B vitamins & aminos or still better a protein source.
Most natural dietry sources of zinc also have Copper.
You must have Zinc & copper at seperate times and strive to maintain a 7.5 : 1 ratio. Imbalance in Zinc, copper ratio will create multiple health issues.
If you want Zinc, copper, aminos, B vitamins & all Zinc synergistic cofactors try carnivore diet !

Excellent lesson! I'm so grateful for docs like you. As per simptoms of deficiency, I do have losse of smell and taste for over 25 years, my hair is very strong I have way too much hair, nails very strong, as per sleep I can benefit from better sleep, I dont have white spots on the nails, I do get colds very easily. Now my teen daughter: doesn't have any issues with taste and smells, shes losing lots of hair, very brittle hair and soft nails, issues with growth, issues with sleep, white spots on nails, and get every cold and flu around, almost every month.I find her ferritin levels are low, and the doctors dont want to prescribe iron injection. Injection would be the quickest way to get it up faster

Recently, I learned through a video that men who didn’t take zinc for 5 months experienced a significant drop of 700 ng/dL in their testosterone levels, along with structural changes in the testicular pathway responsible for testosterone production. It is also important to know that Vitamin D3 is crucial for immune modulation, cancer prevention, bone strength, and testosterone support.
I am 39 years old and, unfortunately, had not been taking zinc for a long time. I wasn’t exercising, taking creatine, consuming the minimum amount of protein per day, or taking magnesium. However, after realizing my mistake, I made significant changes to my daily routine, and I am now seeing great improvements in my strength, immunity, energy levels, and libido.

I remember taking like 150mg of zinc a day for maybe 2 weeks and i remember my racing mind slowing down lile time slowed down and i had enough to focus without my mind being in a hurry to flip to something else it was nice not to be in a hurry and nice to have time to notice things and read bumper stickers and wonder what the person in the car i met was going, i have had ADD all my life and my brain is in a hurry and it never gives me time to explore an idea before switching on to something else and it was a cool experince but something happened very fast, my busy mind went so quiet i lost care and i went into a deep depression because my busy mind that kept me interested in so many things at once was now gone and i was left with a i dont care about nothing attitude just existing. It got so bad i thought i would rather be scattered brained and too busy to notice detail then to feel this way so ivstopped and started taking multivitamins hoping to replace the copper and other minerals zinc might of lowered it was not long and my busy mind was giving me a 100 ideas of things to do, before i could complete one i was already doing another but it was better than not caring to do anything. I should of just backed off the zinc but ibwas so depressed i just wanted out of that horrible feeling. My son has ADHD i remember giving him zinc when he was head start and how the teachers said he was not as hyper that day but different.

    • @zxctgb
      @zxctgb 2 роки тому +13

Zinc is one of the most common deficiencies in ADHD, along with magnesium, iron, and polyunsaturated fatty acids (think omega 3, side note, zinc helps process these). I also found zinc significantly helped ADHD (and indirectly through helping sleep), it was also helped by choline, grass fed fatty red meat (high in zinc, iron, fatty acids and amino acids we use to produce neurotransmitters), cardio, fermented foods (like sauerkraut), going paleo, getting sunlight, setting timers etc. What else helped you?

Don't forget about pyrrole disorder. According to Dr William Walsh in his book Nutrient Power 15 percent of all depressives in his database have pyrrole disorder which causes too much HPL waste product in the blood that bonds to aldehides, namely b6 and zinc.
I have severe pyrrole disorder and have to take 125mg of zinc daily to ward off deficiency, as well as 400mg of b6.
Pyrrole disorder is a major major cause of zinc deficiency and way more common than people believe.

Seems well within the 100mg+ over long periods he mentioned was required to deplete copper, especially if you experienced symptoms of deficiency. Zinc levels fluctuate day to day, so just eat enough copper (not too much) and observe your symptoms of possible zinc deficiency. Also bear in mind some forms of zinc supplements are very different in bioavailability (i.e. zinc citrate is absorbed better than zinc oxide), and some contain unnecessary supplements like lactose or sweeteners, which are bad for your gut.

Hey doc, amazing crash course with abundance of info, I’ve recently been diagnosed with a zinc deficiency, was prescribed solvazinc 45mg effervescent tablets pack of 90. I’m currently taking fluconazole for Candida/yeast overgrowth to wich I requested as symptoms got unbearable. My doctors are ignorant to this but prescribed them anyway. The document study you share at 25 mins will possibly solve there ignorance and may well test. Had Dutch test privately in past. But could you please share a link for that study for me to look further and share with doctors? Sincerely grateful for you and the work you do the knowledge you share is valuable life tool so thank you ❤ from uk 🇬🇧

Statins passed my blood brain barrier and destroyed the myelin sheath. Lost emotions, muscle mass, major side effects & almost died.

@@tulsatimeflies, So sorry that happened to you. Hope you are able to make a full recovery. I was prescribed a statin years ago and I didn't like how they made my legs hurt, so I stopped and refuse to take them.

I was trying to order your supplements and as it seems you do not ship to Spain. How can I have your supplements then? Is there any way to do this? If not what would you recommend to buy that is similar what you offer...

Zinc taken on a regular basis must be taken with Copper. Zinc long term will deplete Copper or cause a low Copper situation which leads to Iron Overload or Disregulation which is disastrous for health 🤔..a complete mineral supplement is better to keep the minerals in balance rather than focusing on one mineral. Zinc is especially important for men but too much is not good long term 😕

    Zinc acetate USP as dihydrate
Equivalent to elemental zinc 50 mg
    Excipients q.s
    Colour : Titanium dioxide IP
What is the safest limit to start with?

Thanks Dr Osborne! We used all forms to raise my 10yo levels of zinc (his always run down and getting bacteria and parasites and recent tests revealed very low level of zinc) ; he is not absorbing. We just started Zinc Sulfur and Zinc picolinate to see if this improves the outcome. About 8 weeks ago he start having muscle tics. I have him soak in 3-4cups of Mg Chloride bath nightly for 25-40mins. Can you suggest which form of zinc will be best absorbed please!!

If you have high copper intake should you take zinc ? I use Cronometer and it freaks out when I eat liver. I also eat liverwurst everyday. Liver about once a week.
