I do not have Gelatos, didn’t think I needed Gelatos - until now. :). Loved the pink and yellow card. Trying hard not to impulse buy but you’re making it tough. Great techniques! All that was missing in this video was your smiling face. Have a great weekend!

From all the comments it looks like most of us set the gelatos aside for lack of knowing what to do with them. You can play with yours as much as you want sharing any clever and new techniques with us ... as for me I think I’ll have a go at them again. I really like the drip idea a lot and stamping the artsy flowers too with the edging. So cool.

@@dotalinadavis7557 any weight cardstock is fine! You don't need special cardstock for using gesso! So use what you have I say!

This is a great tutorial! I never thought about putting gesso on cardstock. I think my favorite was the resist and the stencil leaves. TFS

Thank you!! I've had my gelatos for a while and they are being neglected. I never thought to gesso the cardstock! It moved so great! I loved all these cards! I'm going home to gesso some cardstock!...in like 3 1/2 hours...gotta finish working. But i am pumped! 😃

WOW Laurel, I thought I was very well acquainted with using my gelatos but you taught this old dog some new tricks. THey all turned out awesome. This was such a coincidence to see this tonight as I was on Amazon today when gelato's popped up in my recommendations and I almost got a new set of metallics but decided I better check and see if I had most of those colors in that set already or not. Thanks for all these lovely ideas and techniques! I did read recently that rubber stamps take better with gelatos as they have more grip/tooth - have you tried them? Thanks again ;-)
Rubber stamps are great, but I don't have many because I like clear stamps because I can see where I am stamping. If you have good quality clear stamps (made in USA and not from Allyexpress and places like that) I think you will find they stamp just as good as rubber.

Thank you so much for these fun techniques! How do you stop your paper from buckling when you gesso it? And you then adhere the sheets you make to an actual card? Also, does the final product need to be sealed?
Great questions! I flatted it out with books usually, lol! Or a heat tool on the front of the back will usually do the sheet. Yes, I adhere them to a card base to make a card. A sealer spray from Krylon is what I use (amazon). Comes in gloss or matte finish!
