I saw lana at town hall NYC in 1975.
She was 54 and OMG she did not disappoint. After her movie clips she came on stage with twirl of her skirt in dramatic fashion real Hollywood golden age style. What an entrance smile and laugh. Thunderous applause of course.

Thank you so much for posting this! It's a real treat to hear Ricardo Montalban's voice, as he tells of his special friendship with Lana Turner. Both are dearly missed. Will TCM enable Canadian viewers to watch at some point?

Lana was a great beauty and a very fine actress: The Postman ALways Rings Twice, The Bad and the Beautiful, Peyton Place, Imitation of Life, Love Has Many Faces and her greatest prformnce Madame X.

Montalban may have played a Latin heartthrob and lover, but from what I gather, I don't think he ever cheated on his wife. He was very loyal and devout!

Rest in peace and belated birthday greetings to Lana Turner 2 8. My favorite will always be imitation of life. Peyton place is the second. Her mother roles were relatable and helpful

"The Postman Always Rings Twice" was her best film. John Garfield brought out the best in her. I've read that Lana didn't want him as her costar but later realized she was mistaken.

From a maternal grandfather, there is still a possibility that Ricardo Montalbán is my distant relative. Because I like the acting and I truly admire him.

Interesting choice of words: inquietud. She also had a yearning. I guess that just like Ava Gardner, Lana Turner might have felt a bit self-conscious about her abilities as an actress compared to performers with stage training. However, in the movies that I've seen of her in the original English (I'm a Spanish speaker and all of these movies were dubbed.), like Peyton Place, The Bad and the Beautiful and The Postman Always Rings Twice, she was pretty good and as Montalbán said, she stood on her own next to Tracy, Gable, Rooney and Garfield.

Lana Turner & Recardo Montalban were good in "Latin Lovers" The movie was pure fluff, but beautiful. A movie you could enjoy without the fear of dirty words or sexual B. S.. MGM knew how to make those wonderful Technicolor movie that seems to be a thing of the past. I've always enjoyed Recardo in "Fantasy Island" on TV. That guy had class with a capitol "C". And I didn't think that Lana Turner was the Worlds greatest actress, but compared to the lady stars of today Lana was wonderful. She had a lot of class too, even if her lifestyle didn't show it all of tge time. She was sort of a victim of unfortunate events. True Lana bought a lot of it upon herself, but she like most of it was only a human being. Rest in peace Dear Lana & Recardo. You will never be forgotten.

@@pepelemoko01 He was born with a condition called arteriovenous malformation (a/k/a AVM), which was aggravated by injuries sustained while filming "Across the Wide Missouri" (a horse accident). He said in one interview he'd been told if he reached age 30 without the AVM 'manifesting,' he'd have been all right. And Nicholas Meyer, who directed "Wrath of Khan," said he never mentioned his injuries. If you look close, though, he does have a limp in his step. But, my goodness, such an amazing man!

So, blondie could do a love scene with a hispanic, but a black man would have been run out of town on a rail. I love Classic Hollywierd, but I'm disgusted by it also. ( Same as Hollywierd, today, when you think about it.)

She became a BORN AGAIN CHRISTIAN. See you in heaven, Sister Lana. That is the MOST IMPORTANT THING that I can remember about her. As the scripture says....What does it profit a man( or woman) to gain the whole world but lose his ( her ) soul or WHAT can a person give in exchange for his/her soul? Our soul is our prized possession; give your soul to JESUS today...for tomorrow may be TOO LATE.
