    Been playing bout 18 yrs and still learning.
    I enjoy exercises like this and going back to the basics.
    This is structured and makes sense. Gives a good foundation.
    Thank you for sharing!

    Hi Dan! Thank you for all this hard work! What setting do you use on your sterling (bass/mid/treble)? I love this sound. THANKS.

      This is a pre Ernie Ball 1978 StingRay which explains the tone. There’s no mid EQ. It’s bass up quite a lot, treble down.

    Hi Dan, I love this video but having difficulty printing the PDF. The format is an issue. Is this literature in any of your books by chance?

    • @OnlineBassCourses
      @OnlineBassCourses  5 місяців тому

      No, this stuff is not in any book. I thought it’d be fine to print as it’s a standard PDF size?

    My problem is i can't necessarily hear the modulation of the chord of any given song when im trying to play perhaps ballroom blitz, i can get a good rhythm but the money notes that gives the song it's flair makes it recognizable .help
    I use open E and 7th fret A string and open D. I think it is in key notes close by but i get stuck there when I know where the other Es As Ds but walking up or down or around is where you know it isn't quite as dramatic. Without tabs, i sometime sound close.but am inconsistent

      @OnlineBassCourses  9 місяців тому

      Right. I see what you’re saying. That’s all about ear training, understand basic diatonic harmony and then practicing moving the roots between different scale degrees. Then do the same thing with arpeggios. After a while, your ear will begin to recognise chord movements better.

  • @joekrim6557

    Sorry. Tried editing last comment and lost it. Maybe the chord progression for ballroom blitz is what i need? I play open E and D and E 7th fret? Is that in key. I have just chords with most songs like chords and lyrics. 😊

      @joekrim6557 9 місяців тому

      So i do not over do edit...what chord progression could work around these note at the 7th fret where i play it. Easy to bounce from open E and 7th fret A, another E and pluck the open D when i think it sounds good. Can you teach rudiments like with drumming. LRLLR etc to make it sound better?

    I’ll say my bass teacher Mr. Hawkins, he is farther away from our location but nevermind…

    You are are very far we can't see your left hand and you are not telling us the fret number so it is difficult to follow you!

    • @OnlineBassCourses
      @OnlineBassCourses  7 місяців тому +1

      Use the pause button, look at the fret markers, remember which fret is which, download the PDF where I give you the exact shape (see my previous reply to you for instructions). I’m not that far away 😂
