i wish there were more guides out there that actually respected the FC3 modules. literally, every guide I've seen is like "it's FC3, it's easy, you'll figure it out, stop complaining". these planes are usually a lot more complicated than what meets the eye and these handwaving "guides" don't do the justice. glad to see some quality guides
agreed. personally the SU-25T is also my favourite plane in DCS (I just think it's neat). but people keep dismissing it because it isn't full fidelity and the SU-25 is the starter plane. little do they know this thing can carry an absolute shit ton of rockets and its fun as hell to fly, despite it being slow as fuck.

Guten Tag aus HH Small comment on the pitot tube: Technically, there is no air going through the pitot tube. The tube merely senses the pressure of the air trying to blow into the tube as the aircraft moves forward through the air. Speed is measured by comparing the "dynamic" pressure sense by the pitot tube to the static pressure usually taken off a point on the side of the aircraft.
I was putting off trying to fly the frogfoot on enigmas cold war server and this tutorial series might be what I need to finally try it so I really appreciate you making this series even though its just a fc3 plane. if it's not too much to ask itd be really cool if you could also include some pointers for the su25 without the shkval. i'd love you. either way love your videos. your a10c series is probably the single best set of video tutorials for DCS that there is
Love the series. Have been playing DCS for a while now and I still enjoy these videos. In terms of equipment I wanted to ask how important you think TrackIR is/how much it helps playing DCS. When I started playing DCS I got myself the Thrustmaster T16000m HOTAS that you reccomended in an older video and it has been serving me quite well (especially with the a-10 for which all of the buttons really come in handy). Nevertheless now that I have started learning to fly the F/A-18 and more recently the F-16 I have had problems in A/A engagements (especially BFM) with using the mouse to look around. 3 controls (stick, throttle and mouse) but 2 hands mean that I can only use 2 of the controls at a time which makes keeping visual contact with the enemy aircraft quite tricky. I have however noticed that TrackIR isn't exactly cheap so I wanted to ask how much you'd say TrackIR helps and if it is worth getting (or if there is any cheaper alternative). PS. love your videos - keep up the good work 👍
Cheap solution, put your mousepad in between your feet, takes a bit to learn but genuinely works amazingly well If not, definitely track IR, the utility is unmatched by anything other than Vr, and even in Vr you need a decent headset to see distant objects without zooming
I would recomend for the head track delean clip if you dont mind learning to using a free software called open track. If you buy their full package they also have a default profile to mess with. I would recomend if you do that clip to get vertical velcro to mount on the headset, the circle ones though stick well, can be tricky to place as a heads up. outside of that minor gripe, is quite good. Anthor option if wanting a higher end one i have heard but dont know much about is grass monkey simulation.
TrackIR (or other head tracking) is a complete game changer and now that I've gotten used to it, I consider it essential for dogfighting. It also greatly enhances immersion without completely breaking the bank like a VR headset would. Cheaper alternative is DelanClip, it's essentially the same thing but cheaper. Never tried it myself but generally I see people saying it works equally well. If you don't have the money for that, if you're in singleplayer or on servers that allow it, consider using the View Padlock keybind. This will snap your camera to an aircraft near the center of your field of view, and track it with the camera. I've never tried it for combat in DCS but I've found it very helpful in other combat flight sims. Bear in mind this will be disruptive for clicking cockpit buttons, but try it and you may be able to make it work. Or you can use keybinds or a hat switch to move your camera. Might take some time to get the binds how you like them but you can definitely make it work.
Been playing sims for decades, but only got a TIR ~12 years ago when I got into Falcon BMS online. Total game changer! No more messing around with the mouse or a hat-switch and it feels much more immersive. I had trouble with my neck cramping up at first, but practice and setting up some comfortable curves fixed this. Never going to fly without anymore.
Ralfi, the manual don't say anything about the 3 min for start up. Where did you read that? Enjoying the series, I wish I could watch it all without waiting :P. Cool series
When i try and takeoff my plane just goes to the right side like ALOT so its really difficult and it doesnt take off on its own neither, i have no payload and flaps are half way down
check your controls for double binds, check yoru axis to make sure everything is working as it should, enable right control + enter while in game to check that your controls are doing what they shoudl be doing. If it's none of that, then it's just wind pushing you and you have to counteract it with rudder, that's all. If she doesn't lift off as easily then pull back more to get her off the ground when you hit the correct speed.

@@jaromirandel543 Read very little of the manual. I just jumped in the plane and blew shit up for 3 years before I bought my first mod (FC3). Never really bothered with the tutes either. I went straight into MP. The 25T and its weapons systems were pretty intuitive to me. 🙂

IIRC, I don't think the SU-25T INS has actually been implemented. Additionally, under the Air Speed indicator on the HUD, there is I line and a Upwards facing carrot. this carrot tells you whether you are Increasing in air speed(carrot is at the right of the line), Neutral airspeed(carrot in the center of the line, neither increasing nor decreasing in speed), or decreasing in air speed(carrot is at the left end of the line). I've also found that trimming for take off can help with heavy loads as well. Usually I'll Trim for Nose Up for about 2sec. I haven't found any good way like on the Flankers to determine a proper angle. As a funny anecdote, I completely forgot about the Flaps middle position and have been taking off with the flaps in landing position. With a full laden SU-25T with trim and flaps at landing position, I've found that about 270kmh is about the ideal air speed to where you aren't fighting the aircraft. BE WARNED, if you go over 300kmh on the ground, your tires will blow. As soon as I'm wheels up, I automatically raise the landing gear. I don't even pay attention to the Altitude. As for flaps and trim, I usually correct those at about 310-330kmh She is a pig, but, man, she can carry a lot of ground pounding munitions and can perform SEAD(Suppression of Enemy Air Defenses, I.E., taking out SAM's). Even though I fly a lot in the Hornet(and now Apache), I still love flying around in the SU-25T and the A-10A.
1. Yes, the INS is implemented for the Frog. Hence why I covered it in such detail. 2. Yes, I covered the carrot on the speed indicator in the next episode. 3. Not sure about your technique for taking off, you NEVER want to take off with full flaps. That's a huge no no.

I'm honestly curious now, lol. Yeah, like I said, I had completely forgotten about the mid position and I set those bindings on my HOTAS over a year ago, lol. I'll have to see what difference I notice next time. All in all, I really do like these videos you've been doing. Especially with the SU-25T. I don't think a lot of people give it the love I feel it deserves since it's not a full fidelity module.

IMO You've pulled stick too much. For light load very small pull like the 10% will do the job.
