In today's video, we attempt to just go out and strike a ground objective on Enigmas server with Kamsa and myself in F-5s while OperatorDrewski is in his Viggen.
Unfortunately, things didn't go quite according to plan when the server decided to punish us for our actions. Please take note, we did not do this intentionally...

Let's think:
A quality trimmer is 20-30$. Deodorant and shaving creme combined 10$. You'll still need a proper razor for a smooth finish, which is another 10-15$. The "bonus" is a cheap bag and undies, which combined are another 10$ at most.
That's 65$ of equipment and Manscaped is asking 220$ or currently 130$. 2-3x the price! What a steal !!!!
What do you get for the additional 60-65$?
A dedicated nose/ear trimmer, which is a *standard* *attachment* included with quality trimmers.
A cordless charger, which is far less energy efficient than using a simple charging cable.

Well, guess I'm going to take a lesson from Ralfi and just start exploiting all the "stupid" people around me. It's such an accepted practice, nobody could blame me. You never stop learning with this channel!

I got banned for slowing down to turn off a runway while another plane that landed behind me before I was clear, slammed into the back of me. Somehow if a child complains louder, they are right and you, are wrong.

@@refraggedbean yep. The kid kept yelling that I ran into him when I landed first and was slowing down. I couldn't key up to say anything and they just believed him since he was yelling foul.
i banned because i was sad and mention my depression and leaved discord so as not anoy, butafter gone and then banned from discord suddenly i was ban from dcs server even. People in discord engimas did solicit for module me and other things. Who i gave module after he solicit me for it is currently admin wich is not nice :c when post on a other related discord that people solicit me for module and other things message was removed and i told not talk about that. I not perfect but this treatmant ridiculos. :(

When you mentioned arming Cessnas, the military did outfit some cessna 'bird dogs' (developed from the 170 and parts of the 180) with white phosphorus marking rockets for light surveillance. So it wasn't just the caravan! Source: The aviation program at my school has one sitting in the maintenance hangar. Look up 'Cessna Bird Dog' to see them outfitted with rockets and other stuff.
There's also obviously the A-37, which while not following the ethos of the Bird Dog and the Combat Caravan, is still an armed Cessna. =)
Cessna Skymasters were also used as FAC aircraft in Vietnam and were armed.

@@ralfidude lol. Just so you know, we USED to let road base be attacked but what ended up happening was that players were racing to bomb the road bases and make then unusable. Then flight times got really rough for everyone. So we use the bubble to protect them, that way people can have reasonable flight times. Airfields, CAN be bombed because they self-repair after an hour. Road bases are just roads and we don't have a way to repair them in DCS. So hopefully this clears up the confusion.
The only way road bases can be shut down on the server is if helicopters capture them with infantry (again not by attacking them straight up and cratering the roads).
All good, I'm not questioning the rules at all, we just didn't read them, and that's completely on us.

If you have any ideas why those rocekts didn't go off on the second run, then let me know int he comments below.
Things I checked:
- Rocket pylon switches were the only ones up
- Master arm was on
- Knob was set to rockets
- Selective Jettison was set back to off.
Did you firmly believe in the rockets and the helping hand of God, guiding them into your target? DID YA
Pardon my ignorance, because it's only a quarter of a second view, but to me it looks like you didn't have rockets loaded, but looks like Maverics or some kind of missile?

For the rockets not firing, check that you didnt inadvertently go into ACM/Dogfight lock. It prevents the rockets (and bombs) from being released. Not sure why, but it does.

Dude I always mess up rockets in that thing too, it's so frustrating especially after hauling them all the way out there doing 5mph.
I hate servers with stupid rules, and hate the moderators/admins that enforce them too strictly even more. No amount of appealing to common sense when you make a mistake works. They power trip over what little power they have over a server used by 20 people then wonder why their server dies. Been banned from 2 DCS servers in my life and I don't even remember what I did lmao, all I remember is being pissed at one of them because I know I did nothing wrong, while my wingman did literally the same thing and didn't get banned.

Well it’s an caged seeker, so maybe the plane was a little above or below the missile and didn’t appear directly in front of it
@@SenkaBandit all IR missiles actually do uncage after launch, the gimbal physically unlocks and I believe the 9B in particular has a gimbal FoV of about 40°

It does not. I checked, As of November 2021 it was still only the Jeff that has a working defogger in DCS. So unless they stealthily added it to a module that has received no love for many years now, then it's definitely not in.

Pretty sure you can alleviate some of the condensation on your cockpit by regulating the A/C airflow, but I haven't properly flown the F-5 in 8 years so I might be spewing b/s. Can't remember.
I don't believe that's modelled in the F5, the only one I know of that does it for sure is the Jeff.

If it's forbidden to attack bases, *why didn't they fucking disable the ability for damage of road bases/add an invisible wall/box of where weapons cannot penetrate said wall/box, easier than kicking*

Nope, it was in the middle. Turns out it was the dogfight switch. I forgot to set the dogfight switch back to center after that short dogfight with the mig.

@@TrickerDCS Trust me, it's literally the first thing I checked since I know that's the issue with jettison, happened once too many times. But it's in the middle position. Dogfight switch did it which makes sense since in dogfight mode the weapon release would fire the aim9s and not rockets.

what are those flaps that open up when you fire the cannons that are right underneath the barrel?
Its to stop the gas from ammo used from going into the engines which can cause some issues lol.
During my startup sequence i always set the cabin temp to max... This seems to take care of the canopy fogging up on me :)
The issue with your rocket pods not firing was that your Jettison switch was in the downmost position, not center. its very easy to accidently put it in the downmost position after dropping the tank. I've done it more than a handful of times myself.
Negative, position is in the middle, was triple checked. Turned out it was the dogfight switch from the previous merge staying on thus overriding the authority on launching missile and not rockets and bombs.
@@ralfidude Oh I see. My bad, I didnt realize that dogfight mode could override launch authority. It's not a mode I use very often so there's alot I need to learn about it still.

Ralfi there is a bug in the game when you drop and jettison things and you rearm they don’t shoot.
In case no one told you, the jettison select switch needs to be turned off (middle position) for stores to work. Took me forever to figure this out when I started in the f5.

What exactly are they saying when they call out things like "029 for 63"? I assume it has something to do with compass direction and other information but I couldn't find anything online cause I'm not sure how to search for something like that.

Select jettison is in the down position, you should be able to read "Pylons' from All Pylons when the jettison switch is in the middle. We've all been there brother. Bring 14:05 up on your phone and then jump into a fresh 5 and compare. Love me some Enigma!
I checked that switch first, I even went back to my first person point of view and saw that I was flipping that switch to check it, and it was definitely in the middle position. Even just now I compared it to my first run, vs second run. Same exact position. So it wasn't that.

Right on. At the 4:44 Mark your jettison switch is off/centered and can read pylons and at 14:05 the switch is down and to the left covering pylons and it will look elongated compared to the 4:44 mark when centered, still weird you weren't getting sidewinder tone while using gun there at the end tho.
@@kceffect Maybe it's possible I took a hit along the way somewhere and that did something? Or I got bugged out from the previous strike. Not too sure.
The dirty ass HUD is super annoying haha. Did you figure out why your rockets weren't firing? I've had the same issue multiple times, I do the same arm procedure every time and still sometimes they don't work.

@MAxAMILLIoN if you're using the tm warthog, by default it's mapped to the counter measures switch on the joystick.
This is a question unrelated to the video, but did you kickstart an RPG game called Encased? There's a character towards the end of the game called Gregorz and then a long jibberish surname and your channel is the only thing that I can think of.

@@jimmydesouza4375 I haven't seen it myself, besides the scene it's from, but the joke is that long Polish names and words are incompatible with German and thus the German jailer has a hard time writing the name he gives. Once he manages and asks the guy for where he's from, our Grzegorz (thoough im not even sure the character is even called that) replies with an even harder to decipher reply.

Firing the guns in the F-5 blasts the canopy with dust. That's why you couldn't see.
If only that was simulated. This is a repoted issue with ED. It's an older module with older textures that isn't quite right yet under the new lighting effects. There are mods to clear out the glare though. I might look into it after this flight. That was just unacceptable...
@@ralfidude Oh yeah, I've seen the glare before, but I certainly thought the dust was modeled. I could have sworn I saw it a while back, where it only came up after some gun runs

Next time, try the Mig-21 or better, the Mig-19 on that server. Esp in the earlier cold war scenario on the caucasus rotation when there are no Aim-9P5s. It's a challenge and hella fun.

Can you confirm this actually works for the f5? I think it's just a permanent "authentic" dirty texture on the HUD...
