4% range improvement by changing the wheel covers is a huge deal. Over 14 more miles of range on the Model Y long range would be a big deal.

I have a 2022 M3 LR and a 2023 MY P and have these on both cars. On the Model Y P going from performance wheels to the 19's with the aftermarket aero covers I average 263 (Wh/mi) vs 304 (Wh/mi) with the Performance wheels. The combination of the new suspension for 2023 and the plusher tires is butter!
And no fear of curbing when I can just pop another one on!

@@Trust_but_Verify OEM/OEM tires they are the model y uberturbines with the thick and thinner alternating spokes. I never tested the original Aero as they are hideous on the Y.

You should always use a Jack stand. Hydraulic jacks are not meant to hold a load for a sustained amount of time. They will creep down. Leaving them under load will also damage them, causing the o-rings to fail.
True, but no good place to put jack stands on a Tesla. Jacks are ok for quick work like changing a tire. Of course, as noted in the vid, never get under a car with jacks only.

I bought a long range because I didn't want 20 inch wheels and a lowered vehicle, so these covers are perfect to get the same look for so much less. And then add in the acceleration boost and you get an even faster vehicle.

thinking about it but sort of like that the silver is rare and the chrome with silver paint is even more rare...not sure though. Other big mods coming soon though!

I know this video is a year old, but anyone who’s purchased the covers, are they all the same orientation? After watching the video it looks like they’re all the same orientation as opposed to left side covers and right side covers. I’m interested in the covers but seems like an oversight in design?

I believe only 18’s have covers, though they do offer wheel guards to protect the edge of wheels.

No mention of the 10k price decrease for the Model X (as of 3/5/23)? Seems no UA-camr wants to cover it. One guy (who I no longer follow) said he can't afford an X so doesn't report on it - WOW! Tesla news is Tesla news. Love your video's!

Love the aesthetics but I heard that these after market covers scratch up your wheel. (I don’t have experience w covers, just what I heard.)
We’ve had several different covers and unfortunately the wheels are already scratched the first time you remove the stock covers. Metal clips rubbing on brake dust is not a good set up.
These have a foam band on the inside to protect against scratches.
Is it just me or are the passenger side hubcaps wrong? They seem to be rotating against the wind when driving forward.

Howard could you please confirm if they are directional wheels or all 4 wheel covers the same? Cause in the video the passenger side covers seem to be rotating in opposite direction to the drivers side covers.

Are you hearing or did you hear any popping / creaking noises on turning or driving in slow speeds (under 15 mph) after installing those Uberturbine wheel covers from TSportline?
No, it’s silent. Comes with padding on backside as well to reduce any potential for scratching your existing wheels behind the cover.

My driver front cover makes a popping and creaking sound on low speeds (under 15 mph) especially on turning the vehicle to the left, like coming out of my garage or any parking. I swapped the covers to see if one of them only had that issue but it’s happening with the 2 other covers as well. They were all very very tightly fitted in to the Aero wheel. What do you think that could be? I cannot tell where exactly on that wheel and cover is the sound coming from. Bought from TSportline as well.

Kim, another great product review! I got my Rimetrix Orbitals 2 years ago when I saw your video. Now I want these Uberturbine covers. They look a lot better IMO. Are they easy to remove? The Rimetrix wheel caps are a pain to remove. Also do they scratch the aero wheels. I got the Rimetrix before they added the foam strips and scratched all of my wheels ☹
Thanks Daniel. I agree, Orbitals are tough to remove and get scratched in the process. These are just like the Tesla Aeros in that they simply pop on and off without needing to remove the center caps first.

most people don't have one on hand. Just showing an alternate method.
@@ItsKimJava there is no place to safely put a jack stand. I use two jacks, easier for tire rotation. I always install and remove and torque the wheel nuts and bolts with the wheel off the ground.

Great video but, only problem with lug nut keys you would have to keep them with you especially (Flat tire) in the car so hopefully theives wont break into the vehicle.
Good point, there are plenty of hidden nooks and crannies in the car (trunk mini side wells, front trunk, under seats etc. maybe best not to keep them in glovebox if that’s a concern

Keep the wheel lock keys with the jack pucks...you don't want to leave home without them!

The stock aero hubcap color matches perfectly with the Metallic Midnight Silver. The look isn't bad.
But if those upgraded hubcaps can cover curb rash, hmm...

Looks great but stay away from wheel locks. They're SUPER annoying! More headaches than anything else.
And very easy to remove without the key socket. You can actually buy a tool that removes them or just use vice grips. I had to do that once when I lost the key. So if someone wants your wheels, those wheel locks won't slow them down.

Well you are not hacking anything nor are you boosting the performance with larger wheels. Looks better yes. Better range no.
Incorrect, wheels are not actually larger and they do in fact give you a roughly 4% boost in range
The wheels didn't change in size, just the hub caps are bigger. And yes range does get improved, it's science.

The problem with these covers is that they don't have a right vs left ... Defies the purpose of aerodynamics
it's literally more efficient than stock ones.
