Looks like the bigger the nap size is more chance that fibers will be coming off. I stick with 3/8 nap & waiting for the wooster 14" roller cage rides on bearings so should give me excellent results..

if you already have texture you can't... if you have smooth flat walls that shine-- you use a very low nap roller and it should roll on smooth... with texture already there- you would have to sand it off and that would ruin the wall
long pile sheepskin even for smooth walls or good quality synthetic long pile id probably use extra long pile on artex

A Sanding pole would of really done those walls some justice just sayin.
