Sounds like a great sunscreen but those “universal” tints are not inclusive of my skin tone.

They aren't universal to a lot of skin tones, including fair skin.

Kat more often brands are excluding dark skin than light skin because racism. This product Dr. Dray reviewed would blend easily on super fair skin, but probably not dark skin. It’s the general theme of tinted sunscreens for dark skinned people: they’re excluded.

Hi Dr Dray thanks so much . I can't tell you how much I have learned from your videos . I unsubscribed to a bunch of channels and really saw the errors of my skin care . I was using a bunch or organic/green products with a load of oils, fragrance etc, which did nothing to help my 56 yr old acne prone skin. I am know going to a much more minimal approach in makeup and skincare. I purchased the Bioclarity line and I am really liking it..l ditched foundation and heavy concealer switching to the colorscience tinted sunscreen ,eye spf 35 and their powder sunscreen . I even lighten up on my eye makeup too. I cant believe the money I am saving I was always looking at new things in hope of getting my skin better , but realize now I was making it worse always jumping around and trying different things . I can not recommend you and your channel enough !!!!!

I wish sunscreens (pricey ones) would give or sell samples. I’m not opposed to paying a little higher price if its something I love. But I want to try it a couple times and not mess with returns if it’s a fail. Let’s face it, I buy way more stuff at Sams Club when they have a sample of it to try. 😂

I very much enjoyed this video. As a person with a darker, oily skin type, I am always on the hunt for good sunscreens. My go to is Elta MD UV Clear. I tried out Murad City Shield, which was fine. La Roche Posay Anthelios was good but a little uncomfortable in feeling. I'm thinking good thoughts for the Supergoop, though! I will try this one and the Elta MD UV Physical (hopefully the tint actually isn't noticeable on me). Thanks for this review!

    • @providence51
      @providence51 5 років тому +2

You may want to try the elta md elements tinted sunscreen. It has a darker tint than the one used in the physical tinted one. Elta md has a phone number and a representative actually answered my call when I had a question about the different tint colors. The representative said the element tint is better suited for darker skin tones. Hope this helps.

I do really like this sunscreen. I have a light skin tone, so it works well for me in this regard. However, I concur with other commenters who point out that it would be difficult to blend this tinted sunscreen on darker skin tones. I would urge Supergoop (and all sunscreen manufacturers) to address this by creating tinted sunscreens that work well on medium and dark skin tones. Black and brown people deserve better.
I also have a small issue with the feel of the sunscreen on my skin. The first application dries down to a really nice finish, and I *love* the way it looks feels. I have deep set eyes, and this product tends to settle in my eyelid creases somewhat, but it's easy enough to blend that out when I notice it. But when I reapply, it does not dry down well and feels sticky and oily for the rest of the day. For reference: I'm 54, and my skin is neither dry nor oily (it was oily when I was younger). Anyway, when I'm at home I solve the re-application stickiness by gently cleaning my face with a wet washcloth before re-applying the sunscreen. I wish I didn't have to do this, but I'm not sure how it could be solved in the formulation.

For anyone with olive skin, you need a green tinted moisturizer in your life. I recently purchased 2 bottles of the Procure Rosacare moisturizer from Amazon and... Oh em gee!
I work 13 hrs shifts at night and normally remove my makeup and sunscreen halfway through the shift so my skin won't get too dry. I use the Simple makeup remover wipes and micellar water to do so. Then I apply the acne.org moisturizer which has a yellow color to it because of the main ingredients that are jojoba oil and licorice extract. Then, last night, I applied the Procure moisturizer as a second layer and my spinach undertoned, oily and acne prone skin actually loved it. It has some kind of a sheen to it but it actually looks good. I may review it on Amazon and say these same things but I want to test it some more.

I'm 59, never used sunscreen or foundation, mainly because they irritate my skin and cause acne, though I don't have oily skin.
Con of this product is definitely the price. Pros outweigh the cons. Not greasy, heavy or too drying. Leaves no cast. I've tried dozens of sunscreens, both chemical and mineral. I have mild rosacea, medium neutral Caucasian skin. Tried it on the lightest patch of skin, initially there's a bit of a darker tint, but it disappeared within a minute or so.
It's not going to conceal age spots or discoloration. Hope this is helpful.

    Hello Andrea,
I do not become excited trying different (only quality) sun screen protection lotions to tint, or the multi thousand BB creams CC creams and any foundations, however, I give 5 stars for Eltamd clear 46 prior to [[ MICA]], even though Supergoop has a high ratio of oxide { apparently infused) / at 24%.
Mica for my skin is a big-------- NO NO. My 'CC' light color in tube with a hint of hue has a #50.
Good luck: The best to everyone experimenting SPF what ever.
I am very on ALERT of the marine life being harmed by the nano particles mentioned. Nice presentation, but not an okay for me, personally.

Can't explain what is wrong with this sunscreen, but every time I tried it and walked in a sun (even as little as 40min cumulative sun exposure), I got some weird photosensitivity or sun poisoning or something! Then would use EltaMD or Thinksport the very next day (while still having puffy/irritated swelling around my eyes from reacting to supergoop), spent whole day in the sun and was totally OK! Maybe one of those plant extracts doesn't work for me, but damn, I looked like an alcoholic puffer fish approx 5-7hrs after using zinc screen and having some sun exposure. This happened multiple times, and always traced back to this sunscreen:(

I’m sad that this product didn’t work for me. I’m pale and I’ve got a lot of gray hairs in my stubble and this tint just made my face and gray facial hair orange. And because it doesn’t spread as well as Exuviance, I had to put more of this on and it never seemed to set. Such a bummer.
