In addition to Dr Dray's invaluable advice, the application of our make-up (amount, technique, colors etc.) can make a huge difference to the youthful appearance of our eyes. I don't wear foundation or powder under my eyes anymore (as it makes creases look worse), just a dewy sunscreen & a moisturiser/serum. Thankfully, I now only have some very faint melasma spots, which I just dot lightly with a finely sharpened flesh-colored eye pencil eg. Nyx. (See Dray's videos about fading melasma/hyperpigmentation). I sometimes need to use a non-chalky pencil or concealer to carefully blend away darker inner eye corners & troughs, and to even out skin-tone on eyelids. Wearing eyeliner too thick and/or dark can be aging and make eyes appear tired. Just curling lashes, a favourite black/brown mascara and a touch of a warm cinnamon coloured eye pencil/shadow can be enough...more flattering and youthful. There are some talented UA-camrs who instruct on simple, up-to-date, youthful make-up looks. 👱♀️❤
@@dianemarie4869 I've started putting Vaseline over my eyes and/or face after my evening routine skincare products, as recommnded by Dr Dray. Also, then not washing my face in the morning and going straight in with Cosrx snail mucin around the eyes, then non-zinc sunscreen and then a face primer (also around my eyes) to smooth and seal it all in. It seems to prevent the SPF going into my eyes, and make make-up go on smoother and stay put longer, esp. eye make up. I only put concealer on the inner eye corners and eye troughs, not under my eyes. If you feel you have to, just some lightweight foundation then blot off with a tissue...but no powder. I use the Sace Lady concealer (from Aliexpress / eBay). It covers everything. It's too thick to use undereyes. It can actually makes undereyes/laughlines look worse because it is so thick...so don't use it there! Only inner eyes and eye troughs, apply with a small brush. A little bit goes a long way! It can be thinned down with moisturiser/serum to use as a foundation. It is very affordable. If you are looking for a fine, not cakey face powder, I use the Lili Lolo mineral loose powder. You can purchase from the UK, or from a stockist in/near your country. 👱♀️❤

Hi Dr. Dray, thanks so much for all the research, thought, and effort you put into doing so many videos. I've gotten great value from them and you're the top reason I began washing my face consistently and using moisturizer and learned about Cerave products for that I've been really happy with and have a good sense of other changes to make. And learned good lip balms and a lot of skin info. Your skin is gorgeous. I love that you care so well for it and let it just glow and be it's own makeup other than say a touch of mascara or tinted lip balm. Nothing wrong with makeup if it empowers someone or accentuates beauty for them and they enjoy it but I also love the philosophy of caring for and being proud of naked skin like that.

Hi Dr. Dray, your videos on acne helped me get a good routine and my skin has never looked so good! For eye creams, what are thoughts on this product: RoC Retinol Correxion Line Smoothing Eye Cream with RoC Retinol
But the retinol % in eye creams is soooooooo low compared to that you would use on your face? Surely there had to be some other way where you can still get the benefit of higher % retinol around your eyes? After all, this is probably where you need it most for those wrinkles! Or is it the case that your eyes don’t need anything above like a 0.01 or 0.1% retinol? Thanks 😊
i've been using the cerave night cream this winter and really like it but overall prefer curel's face cream. they're both super moisturizing and fragrance free but curel's smells and feels more luxurious

Hi, Dr Dray, I just wanted to give you my feedback for your recommendation in this video of the cerave skin renewing night cream around the eye contour. I bought this product specifically to use in that area and I have had great improvement in general, I had to settle a little until I tolerated it every night. I just wanted to thank you for your recommendations are simple, effective and very coherent. God bless you.
I started using Jentry Kelly's Balm Babe which is an eye balm, and just tap on under eye skin and brow bone. I'm in upstate NY, today's current temp is 14. I noticed my eyes getting very dry when making for extended periods. This has helped immensely with no irritation. Don't use it under makeup though. Totally agree on the humidifier also, using heat dries the air so the humidifier brings the humidity level to a more comfortable level.
When people say nighttime I always just consider it my sleep time. Night shift is hard because most of us don’t get as much sleep as we do when we follow a more normal sleep pattern.
Hi, thanks for this subject, I was wondering if you could address blepharitis. It’s such a bummer because of the use of warm compresses recommended ( I found a good electric one ) they say to use warm compresses and it’s a mess and plus not sanitary.
👱♀️❤
What concealer do you recommend? Mine always creases too:(
@@dianemarie4869 I've started putting Vaseline over my eyes and/or face after my evening routine skincare products, as recommnded by Dr Dray.

I was thinking the exact same lol. Yes, I second this.
I've been using the cerave night cream around my eyes and I've loved it. I didn't like it all over my face but my eye area feels way better now. (I still have patches of eczema but they've improved!)
I have oily skin but dry under eye area which looks really ageing. Can I still use Cerave Moisturising Cream as an under eye moisturiser?

Dr Dray, my eyes usually reject 90% of face skin care I buy (not eye care, face care). I try to identify which ingredients cause it to me. But it's impossible. Could you maybe tell about hyper sensitive eyes which reject most of skin care? How you deal with your clients in this case?
Congratulations on passing 1million subscribers! ( I just noticed.) Thanks for all the down to earth advice. From 🇨🇦
New subscriber here. Love your content Dr. Dray. I also have to say, I love love LOVE CeraVe moisturizing cream in a tub. Its packaging is so unassuming and not very pretty on one's vanity but it is so good. Not sure how it would be on oilier skin but if you have normal to dry skin like me, it is fabulous! It has been a game changer for me, especially over these winter months.
No matter how hard I try, it seems impossible to get 8 hrs of sleep. I either can’t fall asleep or wake up early😩
So relatable
Have you tried blackout curtains, stop eating at least 3 hrs before bedtime, white noise from a fan, or You Tube has these great blackout sounds from crickets, ocean waves etc... if you have a TV in your bedroom. Also turn off your phone, computer, turn your clock around on your nightstand, and TV because the bluelight will mess with your circadium rhythm. I tried that and it helped a lot!!!! I hope these help you.
It takes time but set a routine go to sleep at the same time no matter what. You will get to it and dont watch tv or any screen before bed time.
I was like you before. But I made myself getting up early for a week and now I can't sleep late 😅
Melatonin works wonderful for me, along with a decent night time routine to help me sleep
Thank you for all of your helpful information as always Dr Dray!! I suffer from dry eyes and never thought about asking my dermatologist about it. My eye doctor who is treating me has only been minimally helpful and I'm glad to hear there may be more I can do for this problem

I know everyone always says eye cream is not necessary, but I use really light moisturizers on my face and like something heavier around my eyes. I like that eye creams usually come in small containers I will use up and don't have to worry about getting icky. I just wish you could buy travel sizes easily for everything and pay a reasonable price instead of $20 for a tiny tub.
I agree and eye cream, or at least a serum, is necessary for most people.
Just get them on sale or through places like Beauty Bay.

I get confused when I see Neutrogena Healthy Skin Eye cream with AHA, but here you said it is drying and we should avoid AHA.
Why confused? Just because a product exists, doesn't mean it's good for you even if it tells you it is.
Hi Dr Dray!! Thank you for this video ok now I’m actually going to sit down and watch it 😀 you are glowing 🤩
Retinol has cause like burning sensation everytime i wear ANY eyecream with retinol, I've tried Cera Ve, Cetaphil, Neutrogena, Olay, etc etc and everytime I wear anything with retinol ir burns my eyelids so so bad, so I gave up and not wearing retinol, I just wear my regular face moisturizer on that area too. Im 37 with combination skin, but my under eye area has been drying lately! 🥺
I've feel the lesser products I stick to, the better my skin feels and looks

My skin is nearly perfect right now. I dont use sunscreen, dont wear makeup and only wash my face with WATER. I used to have the thought of using sunscreen 3 times in my life and I hated it everytime I use it, it has a greasy feeling and my acne went real bad.. :(( But I am going to try it for this time cause I heard Dr Ray talks about it so much to see if I like it.

Now I apply Vani Cream first then the Retinol just every other night, now it doesn't sting so bad. Thank you for all of your advice, Dr. Dray!

I purchase the Neutrogena Rapid Wrinkle Repair Cream to use around my eyes and on my neck because in another video dr. Dre said it could be used in that manner. I have had no irritation but I don't get extremely close to the eyes or right on the lids like where you would put eyeliner or something. I remember she said just don't put it in your eyes. Got to use that up now and that's where I want to put it. It's probably a heck of a larger jar than the eye cream in the tube.
@@alyshal417 Glad to know! I’ve been an Adapalene user for quite a while before I started Retinol. Thanks for another great video! Could you talk about the impact of exercise on skin and what could be done to pre-empt it? I worry that my running and the bouncing action could be contributing to sagging jowls and etc. Also what about sauna use which supposedly has so many health benefits, but what about skin? Could it lead to water loss in the skin?

Hi Dr. Dray, your videos on acne helped me get a good routine and my skin has never looked so good!
For eye creams, what are thoughts on this product:
RoC Retinol Correxion Line Smoothing Eye Cream with RoC Retinol
But the retinol % in eye creams is soooooooo low compared to that you would use on your face? Surely there had to be some other way where you can still get the benefit of higher % retinol around your eyes? After all, this is probably where you need it most for those wrinkles! Or is it the case that your eyes don’t need anything above like a 0.01 or 0.1% retinol? Thanks 😊
You have a natural solution for bags under the eyes?

Hi, Dr Dray, I just wanted to give you my feedback for your recommendation in this video of the cerave skin renewing night cream around the eye contour. I bought this product specifically to use in that area and I have had great improvement in general, I had to settle a little until I tolerated it every night. I just wanted to thank you for your recommendations are simple, effective and very coherent. God bless you.
What did it do for you?

I started using Jentry Kelly's Balm Babe which is an eye balm, and just tap on under eye skin and brow bone. I'm in upstate NY, today's current temp is 14. I noticed my eyes getting very dry when making for extended periods. This has helped immensely with no irritation. Don't use it under makeup though. Totally agree on the humidifier also, using heat dries the air so the humidifier brings the humidity level to a more comfortable level.
What would you recommend for those who work night shift? I sleep during the day but my under eye skin is definitely changing 🥺
I'm using aloe vera gel. No promises but only because it's a cooling sensation, I wear it during night shift.
Then developing chalazion etc. the skin on the eyelids suffers greatly from this!
Thanks for your advice in advance. I really enjoy your excellent advice and your channel!
Dr Dray, would you have tips to lift the upper eyelit and eye skin?
I know it won't da magic, but just a, little would be great. Thanks.
you are so right that adding a humidifier is a game changer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
In other words, stop partying, drinking, staying up all night watching tv doing nothing. 😂

Yeah, everyone I know who stays up all night doesn’t “do nothing”, they have to work two-three jobs. But glad you’re in such a privileged position to judge.
