Ben Lane same here, surprisingly it still works just as great as the day I got it so I never felt the need to upgrade.
I still use mine as well. On the whole it works extremely well considering it's 3 years old. The only things to complain about for me is that it takes a long time to start up if its completely turned off (which I don't do often) and the camera is not great either (although it wasn't great from the start.) Everything else is completely fine and I would easily keep using the phone for another year (but I am upgrading to the Oneplus 5. So excited!!)

inflation is at most 1.5% annually it does not account for the entirety of the price increase, they aren't a startup anymore and they are pushing for retail exposure, that takes allot of staff and allot of money. Hence price increase
When the iPhone 4 came out the price was $400, people said that was expensive at the time, now iPhone7/7 plus is near $1000, same with Samsung and other major flag ships. the Oneplus one was around 300, Oneplus 5 now is 500. Why the hell are people complaining about price.
Ben Appiah I'm a OnePlus 3 user, and I think people are mostly focusing on the price of the phone, rather than the price relative to it's competitors and the fact that the market is inflating slowly. The price may be increasing, but it's competitors are also increasing in price too. OnePlus is still doing what they set out to do - deliver demolishing performance at an affordable price relative to competing flagships.

I mean, given that the next iPhone will probably surpass $1000 and Samsung will most likely follow along, the OnePlus 5 still is far cheaper than its flagship competitors. Sucks though that OnePlus is spending more on cringey ads.

my jaw is still hanging over the fact that there's 8gb ram and 128gb storage in a PHONE UNDER $550. I can't complain about that. if it's too expensive for you, wash some cars or get a ZTE.
It's not too expensive. It just isn't water resistant and has it's fingerprint reader on it's front. Not my ideal type of phone. But that's just subjective.

Michael G I'm gonna trust Linus on this one. $500 is just too expensive for the phone. I could get a secondhand Galaxy S7 that still has its warranty for that price.
Well... Whats the point on buying an older phone... All new phones are this expensive, the S7 was like 700-800 when it came out...... Price isnt the issue for me, its the phone itself. I ordered the HTC U11 and ill be getting it today

True, but for me, price isnt really issue. I had the Axon 7 last year which was only $400 but I liked it a lot more then the Galaxy S7 or the Pixel mainly for the speakers and performance.

Michael Gregory Agree. I expected more from One Plus. Hard to go back to bezels and smaller screens after going the S8+. Same with laptops, after getting My Dell XPS, I could never go back to bezels.

I hate fingerprint Sensors at the back. It just looks so ugly when cases have to have another hole just so you can still use the fingerprint sensor. and what if it is a flipcase?

literally 95% of smartphones with fingerprint sensors put them in the back... It's in a natural place where your finger will rest rather than reaching across with your thumb in the front while at the same time balancing the big ass phone you most likely have. And for me, I never use a case. Ruins the design aspect of the phone. Plus I never drop my phone anyway, so I never need that added protection while at the same time I can always appreciate the build quality and design of the phone in its original form rather than some ugly ass bulky case covering it.

Kay Kayyy what do you people expect? they're a company therefore it makes sense to grow.... They can't grow to compete with other big companies without raising prices to get flagship specs. the next phone will be even more expensive, deal with it.
Keep in mind, the company has grown over the years. What this essentially means for OnePlus is that the company has added divisions, like in OnePlus' case, a marketing division. They've invested a lot of money to fix the problem of their customer service, and they have invested in promotion. Both of which make the price go up, as the company has more costs to take care of.

Every year the price goes up by $ 50. Furthermore it looks exactly like an iPhone now. OnePlus phones were "flagship killers" now it's just another uninteresting Apple copy.
Robin X I would seriously reconsider your statement, nowadays everyone is copying eachother, like apple copying samsungs idea for an Infinity display, and Samsung (and OnePlus) for copying the idea of a dual lens camera. Companies have to copy eachother for financial reasons (trends), so dont call this an iphone copy, buy it yourself and you'll see it looks nothing like iphone xD.
It goes up ONLY $50. This year a lot of flagships are hitting the $1000 mark.. I have both the OnePlus 5 and Note 8 and the OP trounces it regarding performance, charging time, loud speaker, finger print sensor, and customizability.
The Note 8 is fantastic and is obviously the better device because of how much it offers but it's almost twice the price of the OP5. It puts a lot into perspective if you ask me.

Ohm Patel The screen. After so much hype that it was going to be bezel-less it's a huge disappointment. As someone who went bezel less with my Dell XPS 13 2 years ago and now with my Samsung S8+, it's hard to go back to bezels. Also the resolution, I never thought I would say it but higher resolution matters. But more than anything, 5.5 feels small to me now I've gone to 6.2. The screen disappoints big time.
FlamencoOz for you it might be disappointing but for us one plus user it is the best phone in the world

I specifically bought the 3t for the finger print sensor on the FRONT. I hate having to pick the phone up to unlock when it is on a desk.
