    A couple of points....
The Arteon comes in three trim levels; the SE base model ($36,995 MSRP plus destination charges), the SEL R-Line, ($41,595) and the SEL Premium R-Line ($46,995). The SE base model lacks a whole range of features found in the upper trims but while the SEL Premium R-Line has standard AWD, the SEL R-Line offers the same 4Motion AWD for an MSRP of $2200. Doing so leaves the only differences in the top two trims to be the 20" vs 19" wheels and the premium Harman Kardon sound system. (The claim in the video that the sunroof is limited to the top Premium trim is incorrect.) Altogether, the MSRP of the AWD SEL R-Line with destination charges is $44,590 including destination plus tax, title, and license compared to $48,190 for the SEL Premium R-Line. Whether larger wheels and a premium sound system are worth a $3600 difference in MSRP is a personal choice but it does suggest that Gold Pony's complaint that the Arteon's MSRP is is too much to pay for the features provided is somewhat overstated.
But it doesn't stop there. Reviewers by necessity have to discuss price in terms of MSRP. But as anyone who has seriously shopped for a vehicle knows, MSRP is a SUGGESTED price that automakers and dealers are free to ignore to make deals. Here in the Seattle area dealers are advertising Arteons for as much as $6000-$7000 MSRP. That reduces the actual transaction price of a SEL R-Line to the price of a fully loaded Honda Accord 2.0L turbo Touring model or a Camry XSE V6. (Assuming that the Honda nor the Toyota is significantly discounted as usually is the case.) Viewed from that perspective the Arteon with AWD and a significantly more premium set of features is more than fairly priced. It's a bargain.
Nor does it stop even there. The Arteon is fitted with VW's superb EA888 2.0L turbo engine found in the Golf R among other models. In stock form the straight line performance of the Arteon is virtually equal to the Accord Touring and Camry V6 XSE. (Usually reported to be around six seconds from 0-60.) Moreover, a Stage I APR ECU tune significantly improves the Arteon's HP and Torque at a price of less than $1000 including a backup warranty that matches VW factory warranty. Coupled with the Arteon's AWD that isn't available on either the Accord or the V6 Camry, it's a potent alternative.

Good review Sir! Like your easy style! One thing I'll add about the spare tire is that, it's actually a complete matching 5th wheel including the rim and tire. That's really rare to find in any car today!! I bought my 21 SEL premium for $6K below MSRP and got zero percent for 72 months. So worth it! With the APR stage 1 tune for $580 including tax, the HP and Torque got bumped to around 360, which livens up the engine dramatically and improved the 0-60 to under 5 secs. This car is really a sleeper bargain!!

The best, most comprehensive, succinct review of the Arteon!
Purchased my first one the month they became available in the UK 🇬🇧. Have just ordered my second one (top of the range ‘R’ Line - fully loaded). The car is outstanding on all levels - the cockpit functionality makes the A5 look like something out of the last century. The Arteon is not the poor man’s A5 - No! the A5 is the overpriced less well equipped Arteon.
The saddest news is that there are no plans to replace the Arteon at the end of the model life 🥲
A saloon bodied version of this fastback was designed for the Chinese market - wonder if it was a success 🤔
Guess VW is concentrating on electric power and SUV as the way forward 😵‍💫

Very different vehicles. Obviously the Jeep is an SUV so if you ever wanna go off road on a trail, good luck in an Arteon lol. Arteon's awd will get you through most poor weather conditions and snow. The Arteon will have better tech and probably a little bit nicer interior. It'll likely be more fuel efficient as well. The Jeep will have more space but again, the Arteon comes back with better technology. Keep in mind, this generation of the Grand Cherokee is getting old asf. It may be worth waiting for the next generation if you want one, otherwise you'll be buying a vehicle that's already outdated. Again though, it's hard to compare these because they're completely different vehicles for different reasons.

Also, it’s not just a spare, it is a full size spare with a matching wheel (no baby spare in this car). This biggest problem with the car however, is that even with wireless charging and Apple Car Play for your phone, VW doesn’t want me to park in my garage even after I give them $50,000.
