I always hear a lot of people saying ' oof the interior is the same from the Passat'. Guys, the Arteon replaced the Passat CC...
Arteon replaced CC, and CC replaced passat CC
By the way, CC had better seats than Passat, more Coupe. Also originaly CC is just 4-seater.
So yes, Arteon is downgrade. And its just passat with bezzeless windows.
@@davosworks ok i agree, but that said people say it like it is a bad thing, let's not forget the passat is a 40.000 bucks car... It certainly isn't at level with its premium competitors but it has some very good quality interiors
It is the perfect car. I have a 190CV Elegance version from DEC2019 ( so the "normal" Arteon ) and it is amazing , really in all. The only thing ist thta the current prices are too high. We bought it with a lot of discounts for less than 36 k €, what is compared to today extremely good.
17:21 mat's rs6 passing by🤣🤣❤️
🎆🎆🎆🎆 Happy New Year to everyone reading this 🎆🎆🎆🎆
Wish you the same
No such thing as a year, there is only the present moment
Su naujais metais ir tave🎉
7:35 lol never change, Mat!
The back end reminds me of an austin allegro estate
Matt what are the reasons to grab this over a superb scout? Aside from looks which is subjective? The scout has adaptive dampeners standard, AWD, a bit more clearence, bigger boot, more headroom, same motor and gearbox, equal warranty.
This thing is stunning to look at
Actually it looks amazing as any Arteon even released , I’d buy it no matter what options it has
Matt: 1st Vid in 2021
Everyone: Happy New Year!!!!
It has a nice exterior. I did review it as well. Love the exterior 👍👍
So ambient lighting and a massage seat option but no wireless charging, no rear 12v socket or flat rear floor and rear windows that only work half way. My perfect arteon is a passat estate or volvo V60. Note the comfy seats are an optional extra cost
Off to a great start into 2021 with the Arteon
6:41. you could have opened the door bruh
If he opens the door the camera man would take a loooong walk and enter a bit to film, wich is a little bit time consuming specially when you want to film the car in a day.

@@_rtx_ but you won't be working for that long 😂
Also it might change the lighting if the whole door was open
"this car actually has NINETEEN inch alloy wheels". mixed it up with the 17 inchers Mat? hahah 15:03
16:17 you did not just used a rs6 as a camera wagon to film a vw
Once you see it you can't unsee it. 1:48
Happy new year.
That's really a very good car....
And Matt looks like he is liking and enjoying it...
such a beautiful car
7:47 boy the cg these days!
Damn that thing is pretty, can you send one to States please.
No, you don't deserve this car or any estates. Americans hate estates, they'll just bash them and crash them after 50 yards.
@@automation7295 So sweet of you to say. I drive a manual everyday, I've owned 11 different cars with a manual. Does this give me a pass on buying an estate if I want one. I promise to glorify them, love them, cherish them for the rest of my days.
@@CruiseControl1 dont worry
Really good review- I've just ordered one of these- FAKE exhausts are a disaster, as with the new Tiguan
Goodness me the rear on this thing is absolutely brilliant

I usually hate station wagons/estates but that's a good looking car for a wagon.
Dude u havnt seen many then.
Only merc and volvo and old wagons are ugly. Golf n passat too maybe.
Audi avants looks better than any car.
XF sportbreak, optima sportwagon, i30 wagon, corolla touring, corolla fielder, regal tourX, Levorg/liberty wagon, panemera ST, bmw wagons all look great.
This feels like the CLS and E class situation ( when the ClS is in its second gen )
Very much the same phenomenon.
Waiiiit.... Is that ur RS6?!!! 🤣🤣17:22
Never ever abondon ”THIS IS...AND IT`S A LITTLE BIT LIKE” - it`s the only reason why I watch your reviews of cars I am fundamentally not interesting in 😁
Im pretty sure they switched to touch since Mats hard pointing fingers touching hard pointing pulling slapping testing everything started to break to many cars🤣 Love Mat he is the funniest best car tester ever. Ever❤️
13:05 ... did he just close the door by window??
10:33 what about the Audi S6
We all appreciate the cameraman having a mask during these harsh times. 5:09
He might be living with Matt ?
@@alisonb4898 We may never know
Mat: (3:12) Why don't we have knobs for the weather?
People in the wetherforcasting: *Cries*
Really, thank You for comparing Arteon's and Passat's boot space!
The Arteon reminds me to the CLS, it was just a coupeish version of the E-class
The cls is a coupe of the s class thats why its called cls and there is the cla which is a mix of the c class and a class
15:58 it’s got halogen indicators?! 😂
Ten years from now.. halogen will be like vinyl records or photographic film or tube amplifiers.
LEDs are so ubiquitous that they don’t even matter anymore.
The indicators are of halogens
@@_rtx_ exactly
Halogens are really outdated nowdays i even got LED indicators on my 02 Zafira in the front really gives the car more expensive feeling althought looks to me
@@youraveragejoe1 halogens made up the indicators of the car blinkers
This is basically a cut price Porsche Panamera, The R version of this is one of the best all round cars available.
Or an rs4 maybe
Audi A5 4 door budget
@@mubeennoorani537 - the RS4 starting price is £22k more than the Arteon Shooting Brake R. Probably a lot more once you start adding options which are standard on the VW.
It’s not it’s doesn’t look like a Porsche
@@louisbeerreviews8964 - look up the Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo 😜 My guess is both cars use the same platform with the VW just having a cheaper interior and a smaller engine, but costs around £100k less 😬😳
Carwow, thanks for not putting a question mark at the end of the video's title.
About the annoying things. I think the drive-mode button is on the "wrong side" of the gear leaver i left hand drive cars aswell. (At least on a passat cc and a 2017 passat alltrack. So they have switched it over (from the wrong place to the wrong place) but ist still hard to find the button.
Pretty sad times when this is VW's top of line estate car. How could they go from the Passat R36 to this?
there is an r version coming
It’s the new CC
I've got a feeling it'll be 30% more performance for double the price. I know car manufacturers want to appeal to the largest audience but I miss the days when they would just strip all the weight out of their cars, slap a V6 in them and call it a day.
I still have my R36 estate. Practical and quick for a 10 year old car. I won't replace it with this, but the new BMW 330 looks good. The M340i looks even better!
@@stephenj9563 If I had a family that would be my ideal car. Never sell it, it's only gonna go up in value with time.
Wonder why some of Mats reviews (like this one) don’t do speed test. Maybe because it’s brand new 🤷♀️
ua-cam.com/video/_F3-WqpNPuE/v-deo.html
I totally agree about the awful exhaust trims, I'd love to know why they do it, it can only be laziness surely.
Happy new year matt, yiani, carwow team and viewers
4:17 Thank you for teaching me the reason behind why my Jetta Sportwagen's arm rest won't close until opened up farther. I always though of it as a place to keep pens, paper, gum, and a Leatherman, and less to due with an armrest (except for passengers). I was literally just talking with my Mom today when she was a passenger about my confusion as to what that was for.
