would be nice to have more of these videos. I like them, they feel short, straight to the point, no annoying introduction, and no clickbait. Perhaps a list of the best regiment of renown from the factions not mentioned in this video
I was honestly expecting Sunmaker to be n1. Such a brutal unit, getting its ammo out super quick. (I guess Empire is just such BS lately ppl kinda forgot about Sunmaker.) Also Severed Claw where? Thats my personal favorite, they got the style and the substance down both. I guess theyre better in Dom, but still. Also also, someone just yesterday mentioned he hates RoRs being completely different to base units, being so much better. There is a case to be made for that, sadly… you dont see all of the base versions of these RoRs. Some were just nerfed since too, looking at you, poor poison wind mortars.
Empire having ammunition replenishment now should make Sunmaker a lot better than it used to be, but maybe the meta just isn't right for it right now? As for the RoRs, most RoRs also bring some unique change to the unit, like the Halberd Squires for Bretonnia or the Mirror Guard and Star Chamber Guardians being dedicated bodyguard units. They often serve special purposes or fantasies. And while they can be flashy and powerful, you're still paying 400 extra gold for the armor piercing and bonus vs. large on the Fireborn, but they die to Fate of Bijuna just as fast as the regular version and perform about the same vs. Empire Halberds.
I find your tier lists/ top 10 lists way more interesting than other people's lists for SP since you can make pretty much anything work in SP, but in MP you're constrained by cost and many other things.
Hellforged host and Eight peak loons are a bit surprising choices. I don't feel like they add that much utility of the base units or offer something that the roster doesn't already have. I would've rather included Blazing Beards of Bazherak and the Angels of Decay to that list.
Hbyy phone: my list is made with my bias, and I almost always take both those RoR when I play kh/doc or Gs. Your shoutouts are very good too! Ror skull cannon was also on my radar, but I felt it wasn't good enough vs cav or SE to make it. But it was tough to call.
Shout-out to my bois the Natty Buboe's Sharpshooters, that stalk and snipe can really help close the distance to enemy ranged and get the jump on high value targets
Eight Peak Loonies being an auto-include since WH2 is no surprise. Although the spinning loon casting has changed (Remember when it used to be a click & drag directional like breath spells?) they're still great for holding something in place & buzzsaw vortexing infantry.
Love the videos, would highly recommend throwing some royalties free music in the background on v low volume to fill the awkward silences/ pause just to make the vid feel a little higher quality!
"The stormvermin are piled up while the bloodletters are mostly fighting" That's not an advantage of the bloodletter, that's using both types of melee infantry correctly. Tight blocks work better for holding as an inferior unit because less models are actively engaged/taking casualties in a fight they're going to lose. Meanwhile with your killer infantry, you WANT as many models swinging. Also, I'd recommend the "Any Unit as general" mod for unit testing like this.
Not necessarily disagre8ng here. But bloodletters will reliably do that vs any unit meanwhile most units may only have 1 or 2 rows fight as they get butchered.
Does this list change in any ways if you consider the level of improvement the RoR provides over the base unit instead of just the overall strength of the RoR?
dont the fireborn have fire resist? vs firedamage knights? thats a really bad matchup, I mean they would still demolish reiksguard but its basically the perfect cav enemy for them
Id rank the royal demis above fireborn just because there in a stronger faction so they arent as big of a loss and much easier to save with all of the empires extra tools Fireborn have to carry the high elfs in a lot of cav engagements and are always a huge loss
Exactly, Im a lizard player and the games against the high elves come down to how well I deal with the fireborn. The games against the Empire are just a blind guess on what they will bring to absolutely fuck me, the gryphites are just one of their many options.
@Lallunalapruna123 ya you can guess what high elf's will usually bring so easy to build around their strong units Empire has 10 different build equally likely to fuck you so you have to pray you guessed right
I haven't had much issue dealing with them personally, but they and the skull cannon RoR were in consideration. Same with Nurgles plague drone RoR. tough calls! Just an opinion list ofc.
@@HumanBoyYesYes Test them out XD charge them with cav and see them hold like gigchads! They are a halberd type anti large unit that cant be knocked down!
@aziouss2863 I mean the issue with them is that they are gnoblar infantry, the meta vs ogres is many spears and a caster who can clear the gnoblars for the win everything the piggyback do can still be beaten by this.
@aziouss2863 they certainly can, but if feel it's more an army that ogres always had a good chance vs making any bad Mashup better in their favor. High elves for instance would be daft to send the fireborn into your gnoblar knights. But bretonia who's spears are never going to win that machup are definitely more in your favor. And even tomb kings likely will have a worse time. Not saying they aren't good, but empire, and many others will barley notice the unit in terms of what their game plan was already.
1. I assume the bug won't be permanent 2. I personally didnt use them to fight infantry almost ever. When I'm khorne I have no issue killing infantry, I need anti-cavalry or anti monster help. So I grab these guys or minotaurs (or both)

Honorable mention to kislev akshinas with net and Angels of decay.
I considered the kislev archers, but the net nerf makes it too short for my liking
Iron demon is just nuts, I love to see it in games
Honestly expected to see the Eyes of The Desert, given that I've seen that in almost every Tomb Kings game since WH3 came out.
Biggest weakness of skystriders and fireborn is no itp no terror and fairly low LD for their cost in the case of skystriders.

Agreed. Those two RoRs you mentioned are serious contenders for the best RoRs
New skullcannon is probably a better pick for Khorne now.
Will b nrfd

Unbreakable is just such a good trait on a unit like eight peak loons, where one of the most glaring weaknesses of the base unit is the leadership.
regarding Butcher of Kalkengard weaknesses... most cannon type artillery deals with them quiet well.
Good video YesYes. Thx for ur content ! Enjoying it.

Are these tests done with the current splash attacks bug?
wasn't there a bug with the skystriders, which impacts their performance negatively?
Yes, the splash attack reworks killed them
Surprised Shredder of Lustria isn't an honorble mention
The Gryphites have been a reliable RoR with the Empire for ages. Just a staple of "good RoRs"
Very nice. Thanks for the break down.
Gs ror wolf riders always pay off and more if you target a large SE with themes . It deserves to be in the list :)
Good video. Thank you!
I don't think the dreadquake mortar should be able to fire in melee. No mention of the new skull cannon?

Bloodletters are unique in the fact that their collision boxes seem to be smaller than average infantry, so they sink into their fights much better.

Yeah idk if he took that into account. Good question
No Claw of Nagash? Does it not solely carry Vcounts as a race?
@@advice5119 it's not that much better than a normal mortis engine for 300 more gold which is a lot on VC
Are you using a mod that removed splash dmg bug for this showcase?
Judging by the abilities like Bloodgreed on the Butchers, he recorded it before the patch.
Recorded on last patch, but with early access I had new regiments in mind too
are any of the new RoRs any good?
Yes, gnoblars and skull cannon
Piggyback knights and scullcanon are OP
No Shredder of Lustria Dread Saurian? :(
Absolutely mega triggered
