I've been trying to find information about how 100% pure mango butter is made, but Google keeps serving up search results showing people using the infusion method by adding grated or pulverized mango seed kernel to various carrier oils. Do you know how cosmetic grade or pure mango butter is made? Is an expeller press used for extraction or something? Thanks
Yeah for a mango series! I bought some mango 'oil' at Aroma Zone. Something that is food safe and is used by some costumers to put in yogurt. Smells good but not as a shampoo bar. I'll try this mango body butter! Edit: it is called natural aroma extract.
Love EWL (been with them for about 10 years, v. high quality) . Thank you for the video... love all your videos... must run over to EWL and buy some mango natural fragrance oil for my lotions and creams. Thank you again!
Thank you for your tutorial! Question, if I want to add a preservative to body butters, because theirs no “water phase” what do you recommend? I usual use my butter right after showering so there’s a chance water could get into my body butter.
Candee Rose Optiphen Plus is a preservative I like too, but because theirs no water in my body butters (just butter and oils) how could I use Optiphen Plus or any other water phase preservatives if theirs no water in the recipe?
@@thecameraqt I'm sorry my mistake... If you're only using oil there it is not necessary to use a preservative. The oils will be fine and I highly doubt it will go rancid before you use it all. Unless you're not using the oil that much. In such a case that you really want to add a preservative add some pure vitamin E. While vitamin E really isn't a preservative per say it may help some.

I have a question, I made a cuticle balm but added a little more of the beeswax than the oils and it came out super hard. So I tried again but this time with less beeswax and more of the oils and it’s more creamy. So for a balm consistency that sort of melts when you rub it with your fingers and it smooths out, does it mean I always have to add less beeswax than oils? I also noticed that you didn’t add beeswax to your recipe can I use my balm without beeswax? And will it be creamy with just the oils ?
I had a question about stabilizing essential oils and fragrance oils in products. I recently made a lotion and Pomade (both water based) and found that the fragrance dissipated after 6 months. When I open the product it doesn't smell much at all anymore. I have read that adding propylene glycol helps stabilize your fragrance. Is that true? Is there any other ingredient that helps keep the fragrance in products?
I'm afraid I don't have a great answer for this question. Fragrances are typically pretty stubborn, and I find they hang around for ages. More volatile essential oils will naturally dissipate, which is why it is typically recommended that one blends high/mid/and low notes to create a more stable blend. Heat will accelerate the loss/breakdown of scents. And some essential oils just last longer than others-patchouli will hang around for years while I find citrus EOs run off pretty quickly.
@@HumblebeeAndMe I did some research and read that polysorbate 20 works really well for stabilizing essential oils in o/w emulsions. And polysorbate 80 works for w/o emulsions. 😊I just ordered some from Lotioncrafter!!
Hi Marie - great video and recipe as always, thank you. Do you always dispose of your plastic pipettes? I have a ton of them but they're not easy to get here in Tenerife (Canary Islands) and I was wondering if you ever reuse any of them? Thanks again! Patri xx
I try to keep them as long as I can. My carrier oil bottles all have a pipette rubber-banded to the side of them so I can keep using the same pipette with that oil until the pipette splits. For fragrance oils and highly pigmented products I do typically dispose of it immediately, though-I don't want the product dripping everywhere :/
